Culturally, Obama has nothing in common with either one of you. He was not raised as an African-American Christian in the United States, subject to discrimination because of his race. He was raised during his youngest years as a MUSLIM, living first in Hawaii until abandoned by his African father at age 2, then in Indonesia with an Indonesian step-father, where he studied the Koran. Did you or Oprah study the Koran in Indonesia ? Or in an American school? Didn’t think so.
Returning to Hawaii because his mother didn’t want him, he was raised until he left home to attend college, as a WHITE CHILD, by his WHITE middle class grandparents, with WHITE morals and values. I doubt if either you or Oprah or Jessie or the Rev. Al have ever attended 2 lower level colleges; then with less-than-average grades were able to gain admission to an Ivy League University and obtain a law degree. So, please tell me again, what is it that makes you feel such a bond with him? The color of his skin ? Oh. To European-American, there is no such thing; there is no hyphenation with American; one is either American or not. Who cares about answering your stupid question? I guess you have no response to my accuracy in stating Obama is the one playing the race card, when he could have been a man, and said he is an American period. The fact that he identifies himself as an African American shows he is a pandering opportunist. It is also wise to note that he called his Grandmother a “Typical white person”, and uses his 50% blackness to advance himself. That so many (Oprah, Angelou, et al) weep at an African American being elected, shows how shallow they are. Answering your inane question is not in the cards.

No matter what, no matter where, I am always, always proud of my country. I don’t have to have a half white and half black man elected to be proud of this country.

I guess all the Hispanic-Americans, Asian-Americans, Italian-Americans still have to apologize when overseas about their country since they still have not had their man elected to the White House. USA has been and is a beacon to the whole world.
