Old news is no news…

OMG   November 3rd, 2008 - 10:18 am

Where in the world has this tape been?
We can’t just close our coal plants.
Additional coal is one of the ways we break our dependence on foreign oil.
Solar won’t work in most of the US and wind can’t generate power for us yet.
We NEED nukes and coal plants or we will freeze.
And it will be the poor that suffer first.
Obama (and Biden) are completely unrealistic.

America…this is a “dictator” in the making…and he will make our country…our democratic country…into his vision of what he wants…a socialistic/communistic country!

GUARANTEED!

Join with me and the millions and millions of the other “silent majority” who find this candidate unacceptable…

Unacceptable because…

He lies continually

His citizenship has yet to be substantiated…now he went back to Hawaii under the story that he was going to see his “almost dead” grandmother who raised him…but actually went to “make sure” his birth certificate was “sealed” and it was!

He is supported by malcontent anti-Americans

He is endorsed by dictators and terrorist groups around the world

He wants to socialize our healthcare

He wants to stop freedom of speech…unless it is for him

He is a Muslim…and no Muslim should ever be our Commander in Chief

Join with me and the millions and millions of the other “silent majority” in casting your vote for the only “honest” “all American”…President Elect McCain!

He will bring honor, integrity and friends into our White House that love America, as we do, and will do anything to protect her.

GUARANTEED!

Unlike the friends of the “Messiah of Islam” whose friends want to see her demise, her demise from within the government and support him to be at the helm when that demise takes place.

VOTER REVOLUTION ON TUESDAY…BE THERE!

FREEDOM IS NEVER FREE…MILLIONS AND MILLIONS HAVE DIED FOR US TO BE FREE…LET’S NOT LET THEIR SACRIFICE BE IN VAIN!

GOD BLESS AMERICA THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE…MAY OUR GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS OUR GREAT NATION AS WE LOOK TO HIM FOR GUIDANCE!

Watch what happens when it’s 28 degrees below 0 wind chill factor and all these blue state liberals are freezin their arses off and their electric bill is more than their house note, they will curse the day they ever voted for dumbama. Wise up and realize you have have been played liberal. Don’t blame the GOP if this dunce is elected, you will get what you asked for, an empty wallet, a cold arse, a weak military, a loss of your personal rights, a gestapo civilian security force, a government committed to making you dependant on their system of hand outs so they can control your life. The list goes on and on.

Mark the steer   November 3rd, 2008 - 10:58 am

This guy is a two faced Commie and lies every time his lips move and his ears flap in the breeze. If the gets elected the libs will suffer also which is good.

A Texan   November 3rd, 2008 - 11:04 am

What a complete moron.

Carolyn   November 3rd, 2008 - 11:05 am

This crazy paranoid rambling about him being a muslim and not even a citizen–did you ever stop to think how dumb that sounds?

Would anyone, especially the very conservative Supreme Court, especially the GOP, allow his campaign to go ahead if he didn’t fulfil the basic qualifications for the presidency?

Do you think the Democrats would try to run a candidate who was really muslim, given how many people have a problem with that?

And if he is elected, it will be *exactly* the GOP’s fault, for running a poorly managed ticket featuring a Bush apologist, and a pro-secessionist who has turned the campaign into a laughing stock and who has proven herself to be intellectually incurious, shallow and so desperate for attention she doesn’t even recognize when she’s being ridiculed.

(Oh, and I apologize for writing in complete sentences, using correct spelling, not using all caps or exclamation points, and for the long words. I know you’re not used to such things.)

Registered Independant   November 3rd, 2008 - 11:20 am

Yes I am, a registered independant. I have just started to pay attention in the last few weeks and decided to wait until a the last possible moment to decide. Maybe strange for/to some of you wonks, never the less I am going to Vote- against the Democrat Party in general. You can call my vote the lesser of two evils vote, if you like, just don’t call me a racist, that’s pathetic. I’m not going to question or assume- if the majority of Blacks don’t vote for the old white guy, that they must be racist. Come on!??!
I feel that I can trust the Republican Party on a few key issues more so than a taxing is the answer Party or the Party of partisans that want the American people to believe that they will be bi-partisan if the gain seats and the White House. I do not/can not trust their word, it seems to me that they and groups like this ACORN are mostly to blame for not only starting us down this path to the Economy melt down, but also to major voter fraud, Nation wide. Yet, I have not heard one Democrat on the front lines tell the truth or demand a full investigation A.S.A.P. and they/you Democrat partisans expect me to trust or buy into it’s all the Republicans fault. Heck they (the Democrats)tried to add to the bailout bill money to go to ACORN and these types of fraudulent organizations.
It is not that tough to find out the real answers to real question without being duped or divided. I lean toward common sense and I will Vote for the Republican Party and I will hold their feet to the fire, something that Democrats don’t seem to do or be capable of. Why do you buy the same old tactics that have been played over and over? I thought Obama and the Democrats were the party of Change or is it that the change is simply more change in the size of our already bloated Government and its control over us and peoples money?
I am just one voter that has until now has been apart of the so-called undecided group or silent majority…Whatever you like to call us. This is going to be very interesting either way.
May calm fall upon our people after we find out the results, I hear a lot of hate- driven by pathetic extreme partisan rehtoric and divisive tactics that can destroy a Country, even a Great Country like ours. Be civil, this is our Country we must stand together for what is good, just, and right.
Vote your conscience, I’m going to.

Greg Williams   November 3rd, 2008 - 11:37 am

This is for Carolyn and any other Oblabla opologist…You, my lady, are a moron…Oblabla promises you everything, just ask the lady who said she no longer has to worry about her mortgage or gas bill…Oblabla won’t even take care of his auntie….You know the one he wrote about in his autobiography before he was anyone..wait,,according to his wife, he still hasn’t done anything…therefore, maddam..you are a moron…

Bill Chicago   November 3rd, 2008 - 11:37 am

Notice how none of these pathetic Obamatrons address what Obama said?

The reason is simple. It is indefensible. There was a time when people who were in denial were described have having their heads stuck in the sand.

Obama supporters have their heads stuck where they can get a marvelous view of his prostate.

There is a change you can believe in.

Truly   November 3rd, 2008 - 12:01 pm

And, the sad part is…doesn’t matter who wins, these Obortion idiots are still going to be idiots. There’s no cure for that.

Outside   November 3rd, 2008 - 12:04 pm

Eileen: the “silent majority” that posts in capital letters to every single clip here.

Concerning coal: there are coal plants running inside major towns in Sweden. They are expensive to build but meet the toughest standards you can meet. It can be done. But as Obama says, you have to pay for it.

There is no easy answer to the energy problem. Any solution will be a combination of fossil and renewable. But we can’t start putting pressure on China to reduce emissions from coal-generated power plants if we are in the process of building more as well. Obama’s suggestion is to use “cap and trade” policies. I’d go further, personally, but I’m not in the race.

One way is to start a massive reduction in energy use, which benefits everyone directly and later indirectly. The US is the world’s biggest per capita user of energy. So there is plenty of room for improvement there, from double glazing to upgrading central heating boilers to better insulation. And that’s just talking about heating.

I don’t see coal mines closing soon. But I do see big improvements in energy use.

It’s also clear that not enough is being invested in new energies. So there is vast potential there, a potential that could lead to economic benefits. This also ties in to research and education. We can’t expect progress if education does not get enough attention. Unless, that is, we want to start importing Indian and Chinese engineers, which will start soon IMHO.

Having said that, I’m about to turn off the computer and save energy.

To l'arse   November 3rd, 2008 - 12:25 pm

Old news is GOOD news. Ohio Coal Association Says:

“It’s evident that this campaign has been pandering in states like Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana and Pennsylvania to attempt to generate votes from coal supporters, while keeping his true agenda hidden from the state’s voters.

“Senator Obama has revealed himself to be nothing more than a short- sighted, inexperienced politician willing to say anything to get a vote. But today, the nation’s coal industry and those who support it have a better understanding of his true mission, to ‘bankrupt’ our industry, put tens of thousands out of work and cause unprecedented increases in electricity prices.”

Bill Chicago   November 3rd, 2008 - 12:26 pm

Sweden also has one of the world’s highest tax rates, half their GNP is from government spending, and the economy has the slowest growth in Europe. Government regulation of business and people’s personal lives may contribute to them also having one of the world’s highest suicide rates.

Stalin learned as a boy that if you control food, you control people. Obama has decided to take this one step deeper and control energy, which is fundamental to everything.

This isn’t about the environment. This is about control. By controlling energy prices, Obama can control the population by deciding who is worthy of subsidized fuel assistance, with the burden of this being carried by everyone else who, in his opinion, is making too much money.

To l'arse   November 3rd, 2008 - 12:32 pm

And some more GOOD news generated from the OLD news:

The senior vice president of the West Virginia Coal Association called Obama’s comments “unbelievable.”

“His comments are unfortunate,” Chris Hamilton said Sunday, “and really reflect a very uninformed voice and perspective to coal specifically and energy generally.”

Sime   November 3rd, 2008 - 12:34 pm

He doesn’t seem to have an issue with “clean” coal …sounds good. What’s the problem here? He’s talking about restricting the kinds of things that countries like China, North Korea, and Russia do that heavily pollute the land and damage the health of citizens.

Grits Guy   November 3rd, 2008 - 12:35 pm

Question. I’ve already voted. Unfortunately, I voted for Obama & Joe Biden. With what I’ve seen over the last couple of days, can I change my vote?

I don’t mind standing in line again. I stood in line 2 hours last week. I’d stand in line 10 hours if I could change my vote.

Kiawanni   November 3rd, 2008 - 12:40 pm

Greg   November 3rd, 2008 - 12:49 pm

Is Obama TRYING to lose Pennsylvania? First he calls them xenophobic hillbillies who cling to guns and religion. Now he threatens to bankrupt one of the state’s (and country’s) most crucial industries? America is the Saudi Arabia of coal – doesn’t Obama know that? Like, duh!

Bill Chicago   November 3rd, 2008 - 12:49 pm

Slime-
What he is talking about isn’t Environmental Policy. He is talking about revenue enhancement by removing the true cost of energy from the free market, and putting it in the hands of government.

Bubba   November 3rd, 2008 - 12:51 pm

Next he’ll be taxing beer farts!

Sime   November 3rd, 2008 - 12:55 pm

Bill Chicago, you are measurably wrong, Obamas only issue, from the above video, seems to be “Dirty” coal. McCain would agree and, in fact, in his speach (about an hour ago) never referenced coal without the preface “clean”.

The Joe Watch   November 3rd, 2008 - 12:56 pm

Sime: “Nothing new has been exposed the last few days…”

You oughta get out from underneath that rock you hide under more often. Obama’s been a shooting his foot off with his big mouth. Biden’s been a helping.

Biden said:
“We’re NOT SUPPORTING clean coal.”
“NO COAL PLANTS here in America.”

HIS WORDS EXACTLY.

Sime   November 3rd, 2008 - 1:05 pm

The Joe Watch, Nonsence. I’m a news junky – The stories released, over the last few days, were timed to create last second confusion for the few voters that still haven’t gotten 100% behind either Obama or McCain.

That would be News Flunky.

call SFC on there BS rebuttal;
do a search of their site for any coverage of Bidens comments on “no new coal plants in us” it comes up ZERO!
Bidens comments have a direct relation to what Obama stated yet they FAILED to report on this.

I’ve read the article written by your paper regarding this interview in
January
2008 with Se. Obama and have since listened/watched the interview on your
web site,
the question regarding Sen. Obama’s support of coal was not an
insignificant one
during this interview, yet it showed up nowhere in your original article.
When 10 1/2 months later Gov. Palin points out that comments regarding
Sen. Obama’s
position on coal & other energy sources with regard to cap & trade have
only just
come to light, through a citizen news agency, it makes it very clear that
there was
some attempt to keep this as quite as possible, even after Sen. Bidens much
publicized comments on the rope line in September regarding “No Coal
Plants in US”,
your news agency still did not put this portion of the interview into print.

Sime   November 3rd, 2008 - 1:15 pm

The Joe Watch, name-calling? Anyways, we’re talking about Obama and the video at the top of the page.

Well, let’s hope THIS helped those “undecided” voters in the coal mining states, finally “DECIDE.”

Obama is a LIAR!
He lies every time he speaks.
He is a cancer that must be zapped.

where is mark the homo? Why isn’t he defending his messiah?

MT Griz   November 3rd, 2008 - 2:04 pm

Do you know what “clean coal” is. It has nothing to do with true pollutants like SO2. It is the process by which CO2 is trapped and put somewhere yet to be determined by a meithod that has not been developed. Obama will make CO2 restrictions so strict that we will not be using electricity generated by coal.
Obama does not care. Fairness is achieved by making everyone suffer equally, except for the elite, read Politburo, of which Obama and his leftist ilk are members of.

Sansan   November 3rd, 2008 - 2:18 pm

Notice the media knew about this but were not bothered by it, or bothered to ask questions. How many Americans that voted early for Obama and are in the coal industry are now SHOCKED! To find out that Obama will ensure the death of their industry. His ideas here are some of the biggest killer of American manufacturing in history! No one bothered to pursue it and it may now be too late for America.

PR   November 3rd, 2008 - 2:39 pm

“Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, have once again demonstrated that they are willing to say anything and do anything to win this election. Their latest twisting of the truth is about coal and some comments Sen. Obama made last January about the future use of coal in America.”

Said Cecil E. Roberts, president of the United Mine Workers of America, in a statement released Monday afternoon.

On last big lie for the GOP…. Lies are all they have left now.

Then go back to your safe zone of HUFFPO and DAILYKOS.

Let’s just go ahead and start creating the separations right now and let’s get ready for this civil WAR.

I’m tired of hearing the constant whining and LYING coming from the flaming liberals.

THey are smart, while we are out working our butts off or in the military fighting and dying, they are organizing against the US, spreading dissent, talking down the economy and Iraq, got Oprah trying to indoctrinate her listeners on a daily basis.

OBAMA is making our enemies his friends and making ENEMIES out of consevatives, CORPORATIONS, military and fox news.

They are following the Saul Alinsky – Rules of Radicals on a nationwide scale and its working.

WAKE UP SHEEPLE.

“Government regulation of business and people’s personal lives may contribute to them also having one of the world’s highest suicide rates.”

Where did you get that one? But you’re avoiding the point, which is that it is possible to incorporate clean coal into cities and certainly the economy. And the coal plants that invest now will be in business 100 years from now.

You don’t seriously think that the coal business should not invest in its future, do you? Should it go the way of US education and infrastructure?

Babs   November 4th, 2008 - 1:09 pm

Say, does anyone remember where the largest clean-burning coal deposit is besides Indonesia? Bill Clinton (lots of Indo money supported him) declared it a national Park or Monument, knowing full well the deposit is there. Are the socialist Dems really for clean coal? The Dems in congress are so thrilled to see their agenda coming to the fore. They really didn’t want us to believe it, though.
