There are so much better reasons not to vote for Obama because he might of been a muslim at one point in his life (which he probably was, its not a big deal.) He believes tax increases on small business and small business owners will revamp the economy. He thinks forcing them to pay for the other half of what the government isn’t paying for an employee’s health insurance will fix the healthcare problem (All while reducing the amount of money given to hopsitals for patients without insurance, medicare and medicaid which is already not covering costs.)SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE. Trillions more besides this are also part of new government spending.

Obama’s not fighting for the middle class unless that means taxing their employers and increasing the cost of living for any service they may need. I hope that $500 tax cut can buy a bike when everything around them gets more expensive and they can’t make their car payments(or won’t want to with a new carbon emission tax/ and certainly can’t afford an elitist prius which actually uses over 3 times more energy to produce and use for 100,000 miles than a scion).

Everything listed brings to mind that dreary zombie-like message of Change, but its absolutely leading us into a socialist state. Yesterday on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read “Vote Obama, I need the money.” I laughed. Once in the restaurant my server had on a “Obama 08″ tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference–just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need–the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I’ve decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

Socialism is the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

And what is the current imperfect implementation of collectivist principles we have now?
Well there are many sectors so lets choose the previously mentioned, healthcare. If watching out for the needy means reimbursing hospitals less for the treatment of illegals, and people on medicare/medicaid why would we want hospitals to go bankrupt and close down around people facing the most adversity. Together with the pharmaceutical companies lobbying in DC to keep competition out, government-funded insurance companies run the country while hospitals, doctors, and nurses with money get sued millions in malpractice suits. I think more of the efficient yet effective hand of government is in order. Only he can really bring communism to the United States because anybody challenging him or his ideals simply turns out to be a blind racist in disguise.

Mccain atleast pretends he’s fiscally conservative and hard on big government. Obama does everything but use the word communist. From his Zedong poster’s to his cleverly constructed stalinist class warfare. If you don’t want to vote third party its clear who’s the lesser of two evils.

People living in socialist societies don’t “share” what they have. They are FORCED to transfer their assets in to a central repository, where someone else decides who will get what USED to be theirs. Obama couldn’t even get the analogy right. He can share anything he wants… that’s his decision. But when you are FORCED to turn over your hard-earned property, that’s socialism.

McCain is criticized for his plan to give tax cuts to the “rich”. If you do the research, you find that those in the “upper crust” provide the majority of the tax base for our country. Yes, they certainly do have alot, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax cuts may seem horrifying to many,and possibly minor to the wealthy, it happens to be these people who own major companies that employ thousands of individuals, own high end property that is taxed on the local government level (which is where most of the school funding comes from in my state), provide countless jobs for those in service industries (construction workers,waits staff, hair stylers, plumbers, etc.) and often offer grants/scholarships/endowments that provide incredible opportunities for youth and schools. Should these individuals feel the US tax burden is too high, they of all people can pick up and move their business to another country, build homes there and support economies elsewhere. I happen to be a school teacher, definitely not wealthy and probably consider to be “poor” according to obama’s perspective. But I believe that inthiscountry I have the opportunity to set goals for myself and work towards them. I didn’t come from a wealthy family, and had no financial support for college other than student loans,but that was my dream. I pushed hard, waited on a whole lot of tables, tended bar and proudly graduated without handouts from others. I obtained “MY” education, because it was important to me. Welfare, which is part of the obama plan (redistribution of wealth) is a handout, not a lift up. It traps people; probably keeping them right where obama wants them. It’s awful easy to promise handouts to the down and out. Yes, there are exceptions to the rule, but alot of these “homeless” bums on the street holding signs begging for a handout are also drug addicts, convicted felons and drunks. They don’t need a hand out, they need treatment for an illness. And the last time I checked, hospitals treat all patients regardless of income or insurance policies-doctors take oaths to care for others and much of their medical costs are written off.

First, I don’t write my own definition of socialism like your crowd does. Socialism is when the means of production and distribution are taken over by society rather than individuals. That comes straight from the dictionary. That’s where Obama is leading. That’s what his background teaches. Take from the “haves” (who have worked and earned it) and give to the “have nots” (who sit on their butts with their hand out).

You also use the leftist twisting of words to say that someone who disagrees with Obama “hates”. That’s a pretty lame arguement…one of those catch alls to use when you have no argument.

Socialist policies aren’t the only reason I am against Obama.

Obama and McCain share the EXACT SAME philosophy of taxation. They both believe that people with more money should be forced to pay a significantly larger proportion of their income in taxes.

The only significant way they differ on is a few small percentage points in the upper brackets.

I’ll say it again: Their beliefs on this issue are essentially identical.

Now, given this indisputable fact, can you explain why their shared views on taxation make Obama a “socialist” while McCain is not a “socialist”?

All plans and processes that provide government assistance of unearned resources to citizens is inherently Socialist, it’s just what POLITICS accompany those processes, what is taken away, from whom, how, that determines the degrees of government intrusion into citizens’ lives.

Obama is way over to the far left on any scale of perspective as to Socialism, advocating (so he does) government “rights” as supreme to the individual’s. Which is why he’s what I’d call a Communist, certainly a Marxist (Marx was a communist, it’s a case of ideology within communism that distinguishes the “types” or gradations of communism, marxism, socialism).

The U.S. already has socialist programs in place but it’s not without a lot of outcry and issues by citizens about them (Social Security, Medicaid, etc.). What most Americans want is a reduction of government intrusion or liberties into the lives of citizens, not increasing that.

Thus, you get Obama harping about government as some way to solve everything (including how individuals should manage higher education, if not all education).

Good management and stewardship of existing socialist programs — retirement accounts with matching funds by the fed, indigent financial welfare, housing subsidies, etc. — SHOULD be defined by NOT encouraging their use but protecting those dependent on them.

Versus Obama’s plans to encourage if not require individual reliance and enrollment in his socialist programs, more of which he insists are needed, contrary to individual liberties.

Barack is right, if you take some of YOUR sandwich and share it that’s not Socialism, but if the teacher takes your sandwich, tells you its unfair and that you’re greedy for having a sandwich while others do not – and then shares it with the other kids who didn’t bother to make sandwich – that’s Socialism.

IN other words, in her view (seems Barack shares the perspectives what with his own circumstances), that taxpayer-provided $600. was to be putdown and ridiculed (’not even enough to buy [herself] a pair of earrings’).

Shows where her values are as to money. One pair of earrings at $600. are a very, very expensive pair of earrings, and, $600. cash received out of the blue is more than enough to feed a reasonable family of four for a month (or more if they’re frugal, even at today’s prices).

I found it very telling that Obama felt it necessary to preempt a public labeling by McCain or Palin of being a Secret Communist.

It is reminiscent of his early speeches saying that the conservatives would be racist in their dislike of him.

He is leading his sheep so that when the label is applied, which based on his history is easily believable, he would be inoculated. It is the classic NLP technique of accusing your opponent of being, or doing something, that you yourself are egregiously doing, so as to make it hard for the neutral 3rd person (undecided voters) who is really the racist, and who is really the communist.

Socialism is more then just the tax rate you use to raise revenue. When you redistribute those revenues to people who dont work and/or those who will continue to vote you in, THAT is socialism.

The crowd souunded strangely muted when he mentioned being called a Socialist. I was expecting loud booing and jeering. It could be the audio but I think the charges of being a socialist are beginning to hit home even with his own supporters.

Maybe this explains the closing of the gap in the polls. I think most Americans believe in the capitalist system while looking for a way to help those less fortunate.

Obama had it right when he was in kindergarten. He used his own personal possessions to help provide for the needed and to give others an opportunity to gain experience. That came from his heart. Unfortunately he feels that the only way to make this happen today is to impose his morality on society via legislation. It will no longer be a heart issue, but a legal issue and we know what happens when you break the law (in most cases). If we have not provided for those in need, it’s not the government’s fault. By the same token, government should not be the answer. Sorry, Obama, you’re just making it harder for the wealthy to do what you did in kindergarten. Rather than encouraging them to do the same, you want to force them to do it. Unfortunately that is exactly what socialism is.

Agreeing with others–Freely choosing to share is not an analogy of Socialism.

Is what scares me most are the people laughing and cheering, when they should be scratching their heads at the misuse of his analogy.

The cheering also happened when Michelle Obama said that a democracy was not determined by the greatest of us, but by the least of us. Everyone cheered. Yet she gave the definition of Socialism…and they cheered! Besides the fact we are a REPUBLIC, not a democracy.
