"In my personal experience, I know many many people of all genders who are prostitutes who do various kinds of sex work, do it consentingly and willingly and lovingly."

From all the good that’s come out of San Francisco, I’d think selling your pink parts for money would be a step up for them.

Well regulating it instead of making it illegal could make it safer. I don’t have a problem with them legalizing prostitution. I’m sure some of the Republican clients will, though, with all of their do as I say, not as I do.

Prostitutes get victimized by pimps because it’s illegal. Any illegal activity or situation causes exploitation, because the exploited party cannot seek police protection from their exploiter.

Where prostitution is legal, there are no pimps. This is simply a fact.

===== SEX IS THE NEW ABUSED STIMULANT =====
=============================
We had smoking, alcohol, drugs. Now sex is the new abused stimulant. Instead of sex being the peak of gratification for being in a married monogamous relationship, it’s been reduced to a recreational activity like dumpster diving. It will probably take decades for society to grow-up, just like it took decades to realize how stupid we were with smoking, alcohol and drug abuse.

It’s about time. Consenual acts between adults that affect no one else should not be illegal.

Now let’s end the prohibition on drugs. The failed War on Drugs. See LEAP.

Dog Owner   October 22nd, 2008 - 12:46 am

Well, it would make Nancy Pelosi legal…

JamesS   October 22nd, 2008 - 1:42 am

Typical hypocrite DA. She wants to present herself as concerned about the safety and security of the women on the street. BS ! Locking them up and giving them criminal records has nothing to do with trying to protect them. Make it legal, and then the women have far more options for protecting themselves, because then they could do their business more openly, instead of in the dark alleys.

I’m sick of these immoral Jeezibels. F*ck Prostitutes!

PUBLIUS   October 22nd, 2008 - 4:52 am

Good! When you think about it, they already legalized penile-anal intercourse between homosexual males, plus just about everything else….prostitution seems normal in this case with regard to San Francisco.
Oh, can you imagine if Saint Francis was back from the dead and given a city tour of his “namesake”?
Ayyyy Caramba!!!

roadimustchoose   October 22nd, 2008 - 5:35 am

Folks you miss the point of this measure. It just makes the police unable to enforce the State laws that are on the books. It provides no protection for Sex workers and does not legalize “The Trade”.

Ren   October 22nd, 2008 - 8:13 am

More wacky news from insane SF. Do they put LSD in the water? The same city where a city councilman stated on TV a couple of years ago, “The US should disband our military…….we have cops”

Ryan   October 22nd, 2008 - 9:14 am

The right wingers protesting the loudest are probably the biggest spenders on prostitution. At least where homosexual prostitution is concerned.

Rog   October 22nd, 2008 - 11:45 am

This will make it safer for “all” genders, um, or, both genders, as the case may be.

Being a pedophile is work too. Will NAMBLA write a similar Ref question so they can express their natural feelings towards kids? Where does San Fran stop?
Hookers prey on the weaknesses of men…and men prey on them as a place to masturbate into.
It’s not about love….family…or the American Judeo-Christian foundations our great country was built on.
It tears down marriage….as does Gay marriage and Far Left inductination of gay sex that they are now in schools preaching to 6 year olds.
The only thing this and other perverted lifestyles that San Fran embraces will ,in the end, get them.,..is a great excuse as to why a huge earthquake destroys them and the whiole city when it happens…and it willl happen.
