Joe the Plumber is absolutely right…because you deadbeats sit on your butts and don’t work, doesn’t entitle you to a raise on your government check through someone elses hard work. How dare that idiotic moron even suggest that “he will spread the wealth”. That is not his job. And quite frankly none of Obama’s business to delve into how much money someone has made and what they should spend it on. Isn’t that above his pay grade? Everything else is. Cuba and Venezuela already have Obama’s Plan in action. Maybe that’s where he got it from.
Comrade BushOctober 16th, 2008 - 10:54 am
Damn right Mary! It is my job to spread the wealth around to indigent Wall Street Republican financiers as part of my ‘no banker left behind’ program. I need to show up Hugo and Fidel on the socialism thing.

Comrade Bush;
Shut the F$%K up, dufus!!
If we don’t get an October surprise, bigtime, real Americans who work for a living will get a very unpleasant November surprise.
Let the wars begin.
We’re gonna change it
You can’t stop it
We’re gonna change your world.
LIE ABOUT CHANGE
Now’s the moment, justify anything
Even Voter Fraud!
Dupe their children, destroy their families,
Haters all joined as one.
Tell them anything promise everything,
Most of them are dopes!
Work together with the corrupt press,
Covering our lies up;
Promise a vision, lie about unity,
They’ll not see the hell we bring!
YES WE CAN
Yes we can
Shut them up
No peace, No love, No hope
Change! Change!
Comrade Bush, seems to me Wall Street in NYC is pretty liberal, always votes for democrats. Hey wait, San Fransisco is wealthy and very liberal… now that I think about it every wealthy area is heavy democrat. Republicans are the dumb hicks in fly over country that live in trailers.
Sorry comrade, the wealthy in the country are the democrats, you have just been led along so you vote to let them have more control over you. Look at were the wealth is and you will see it is VERY blue.

One more thing, if US jews help obama to victory, I will become a big fan of Ahmedinejad. At least he’s a politician trying to fulfill his campaign promises, unlike the goofballs we are stuck with. I always thought Israel was an friend to the US, I don’t feel that way anymore. If streisand and co. help elect obama, then whatever happens to Israel is well earned.
If Joe is a business owner he must be a chakillionaire! He owns a business to screw his employees while he vacations all the time. This is what business owners do! He needs to have everything taken from him!
R.J.October 16th, 2008 - 11:14 am
McCains desperate attempt to preserve the “SCREW YOU, ME FIRST” GREED of the GOP ideology, will be the last nail in his campaign coffin. And the rest of you greedy pukes, that are calling the un-employed lazy when you know that this country is going into a deep recession and there aren’t jobs to be had, are just showing your ugly selfishness. You think, “OH, THIS COULD NEVER HAPPEN TO ME, I’LL NEVER BE DOWN THERE.” Well, I promise you, that you WILL be begging for a glass of water, so soon it’s going to make your head spin. Remember, I warned you

How does increasing taxes on anyone increase the chance of success for those “behind you”. Success isn’t something that the government can make happen. That’s up to the individual. No amount of tax “breaks” are going to make anyone more successful.

Everyone stresses the “Republican Wall Street” but it was the Democrats (Paulson (he is a registered Democrat) and Congress) that pushed this bill through even though the complaints from the American public were overwhelming! What did the Democrat leaders say about this: the people are too stupid to understand that this is what they NEED!
The Democrats have said that Bush has been wrong on EVERYTHING for 7+ years, but as soon as he comes up with a socialistic solution the Democrats grab on and scream that this is his GREATEST accomplishment!
Surely you can see through all of this BS that has been thrust upon America.
Congress controls the budget and all laws, but BUSH created our failures! Congress approved MORE money than Bush even requested in both of the last two Congressional sessions, but BUSH created the debt!
After Bush was re-elected in 2004, the Senate became 50/50. There was an independent that decided to become a Dem and that split the Senate. Since 2004 there have been more threats of filibuster upon the wishes of the President than in any other four year period in the HISTORY of the USA! So, you want to blame everything on BUSH – look at the truth.
Look at the facts instead of repeating political points and partisan rhetoric! The two party system is NOT working for anyone except those that are in office. And no matter who is elected from these two parties, when they say they are going to “fix” Washington, know that they are corrupt before then ever get this high in the system!
We need a middle/moderate party that doesn’t:
1) Want to tax hard working American to give to those that do not help themselves.
2) Want to force anti-abortion down everyone’s throat.
3) Want to put government in every part of my life like my health care.
4) Want to let the greedy companies continue to hire illegal immigrants.
I am not even voting for Obama or McCain, I am a Libertarian! Remember, the only wasted vote is the one not cast!

Less Taxes, Less Government!

ExTxMarine:
Although I agree with you in part..I am voting because I want the lesser of the two evils. I did the research, and Obama’s plan is pretty much the same as Hoover’s (cutting taxes). Hoover’s plan led to the Great Depression, (which I think Joe Biden said he watched in TV). I don’t want more government, or more programs..I want less government and less government spending. So, I have no choice but to vote for McCain.

Where exactly is the money for the bailout, and the continued running of the country supposed to come from–Joe?
All the Joes and Joannes who did not pay attention when the “Republicans” were busy ruining America, or didn’t want to get involved so long as they too reaped the benefits–shouldn’t cry a river now.
The free ride is over, and it’s time to pay the piper.
ExTxMarineOctober 16th, 2008 - 12:21 pm
Mary,
I understand your “lesser of two evils” mantra!
And honestly, as much as I believe in the Libertarian party planks, I do not like our current candidate, Bob Barr. And, I was seriously thinking about voting for McCain, but once he voted for the bailout plan, I lost interest.
Now, I have to disagree with you though. I don’t think Obama is Hoover II, unfortunately I think he is Carter II! And Carter II with a Democrat controlled congress will put us into a depression faster than Hoover!
Carter wanted to talk to extreme leaders to have them understand us – they walked on us for four years and even our allies began to question our support and resolve!
Carter wanted to tax the rich for “fairness” which created stagflation (we are already there with a stagnant economy with rising inflation) – he will completely reverse business growth, skyrocket unemployment and end up taxing lower wages to make up for a drop in government income.
Of the two, Obama is the more dangerous to our current economic situation.
Obama has shown exactly who he is and what he wants to accomplish. But more importantly, Obama LIED to Joe the plumber. He told Joe that he did not want to punish his success, but while being interviewed by Charlie Gibson, Obama specifically said he wanted to raise taxes NOT to raise government funding, but for “fairness!” That is punishing success and redistributing it to those that do not help themselves.

R.J. get back in here and finish cleaning my toilet. Fact is most people unemployed are so because they fail to make themselves a worthwhile commodity. Whether it be the saggy pants, and lack of basic English, or the fact that they are a$$holes like the chronically unemployed and stupid RJ, they are unemployed not because the world is unfair, it is because they fail to adapt in a meaningful way to employers. R.J. you missed a spot, get back to licking the grout you worthless vagabond.

Ok, Im making $9/hr wage right now but why shold i work hard to get a higher income if by the time I get to $250,000 per year my taxes will go up. Thats not right. It takes away all my incentive to better myself and work hard. Right now Im working pretty hard most of the time but if Obama is elected there is no point to it so I will quit and go on welfare like he is forcing us all to do.

I love the alarmism–so pure and true, but I really don’t want to take too much pleasure in it because clearly something has affected your life, financially or emotionally…okay, I can enjoy it. How great is it that everyone who votes for McCain will lose their jobs and get to such a point of desperation that they will be begging for glasses of water? Seriously, that is great stuff. If you have a blog, post it. I promise I will read from it.

For those that think there are no jobs, you just are not looking! I got pushed out of the Marine Corps due to a combat disability – I was not ready to leave. I was a warehouse clerk in the Corps. I worked at McDonald’s and Dominoes until I taught myself computer programming and got my break. I worked for a company for six years until they merged with another company and everyone from our side, were laid off. I went to work part-time for myself in construction and as a night time security officer. I finally got another break and started working my construction full time. Five years later, due to a subcontractor, I had to file bankruptcy. I lost my business, my house, three vehicles and put four good people out of work as well. I took a security job and delivered pizzas again. Then I got another break and became a safety technician. Since that time, I have worked, clawed and studied my way to become a division safety manager. During these times, on at least three occasions I was told that I was over qualified. I asked them if they had so many people asking for this job that they can turn down someone who is actively seeking work? Every time I got the job! I have been married for 22 years and have four children – I HAD to find a job to care for them. I did not get in line at the government office – I went to work. Two jobs, three jobs, what ever it took to care for my family.
I am going to paraphrase an old saying, that is still very true: my parents didn’t think flipping burgers was beneath them, they thought it was an opportunity.
America needs to get back to this mentality – do for yourself all that is necessary to succeed.

I can’t stand these Middle Eastern so-called men who kill their daughters for being too western or having sex.
Middle Eastern men are WHOR!S themselves and are sooo egotistical and hypocritical.
I know many WHITE MEN who are married to Lebanese and Egyptian women and the women LOVE the FREEDOM of being married to a WHITE AMERICAN MALE!

“I always thought Israel was an friend to the US”
If you really believe that you are truly deluded. The Israelis use the US for their own purposes only and get us to pay for the privilege to the tune of 10 billion a year in foreign aid. Now they want us to attack Iran for them. They have been caught numerous times spying on the US, an activity you expect from Russia or China but not from an “ally”.

I was very surprised by the actual contents of the exchange between Obama and Joe the Plumber. It can be seen entirely on You Tube. Well actually I am astounded by the reaction from all sides. Joe the Plumber has become a discussion point via 20-some mentions in the third debate and endless reference today on cable news and in the blogosphere. Americans love talk about business, but they know squat about it.
Apparently Obama missed the point, McCain missed the point, all of the news people who have access to these tapes missed the point, and all of the people here on this video blog missed the point. One really has to wonder how long it will go on with only some nobody like me screaming for some genuine business analysis.
JOE THE PLUMBER DOESN’T MAKE $250,000! He tells Obama that straight out. He’s about to buy a business that grosses $250,000 to $270,000 a year. Or at least his *I’m getting ready to buy a company* wording certainly leads us to that conclusion. To actually profit by $250,000, the business Joe is buying would have to be reporting more like a million in revenues. Is that what he meant to say? Even if his business will gross $1-million and net $250k he still would NOT PAY ANY ADDITIONAL tax under the Obama plan because it’s a progressive tax and he’s at the bottom of the bracket. New Taxes for Joe if his biz grosses $1-million = $0 = zilch.
If Joe is indeed buying a company that pulls in $250-270K as it seems he is saying. Then let’s consider what he really makes. Let’s say he is paying two other junior plumbers at $35K, plus $60K for himself. He’s already spent roughly half of his revenues, and that doesn’t even account for any perks or FICA or whatever, which typically burdens wages by about a third. Salaries alone could blot up $173k of his $270k. Now don’t forget, he mentions that he’s considering buying some trucks. Those will be on his depreciation schedule, and all of the gas and maintenance will be deductible. And then there’s the expenses of replacing tools and maybe he carries some plumbing inventory. Is there an office with lease payments and/or a parts storage building? What about an office person? Advertising costs!
This guy’s going to be lucky to actually take home the $60K we already gave him.
Joe the plumber is not a story about Obama Tax Plan. Well… except that Obama will give this guy a middle class tax cut. And oh yeah, a tax credit toward the health care plan of his employees which thankfully cuts out a chunk of the one-third salary burdening formula I mentioned above. Simple fact is that this guy comes out ahead on Obama’s plan and he doesn’t even realize it. Nobody seems to get it – not even Obama.
By the way, I recommend listening to the complete interaction between Joe and Barack on YouTube. Obama makes several good points to Joe, and there’s no mention of Robin Hood or peasants. If Obama would have gotten a complete and clear picture of the guy’s business, I think both of them would have realized that Obama’s plan is actually designed for Joe and puts him right in the sweet spot.

This guy don’t even have a plumbers license!!!!
He is THINKING about buying a business. This guy is 100% hypothetical. He is a GOP plant. They WASTED all that time in the debate talking about him and he is a FAKE!!!!!
“the Association of Plumbers, Steamfitters and Service Mechanics revealed that Wurzelbacher was not a licensed member of their trade.”
“Wurzelbacher told ABC he was “not even close” to earning $250,000 but worried that Obama would raise taxes for those making less.”
“”If there’s a plumber or pipefitter making more than $250,000, we want to know where he’s working,” Herrera said with a laugh. “We don’t make that kind of money.”
The plumber’s union, like almost all labor groups in America, backs the Democratic Party.”
“I don’t have any ‘Joe the Plumbers’ in my neighborhood that make $250,000 a year and are worried.â€
Mr. Biden certainly can trace his roots to the working-class neighborhoods of Scranton, Pa., and Claymont, Del., where he was raised. But these days, his kitchen table can be found in a 6,800-square-foot custom-built colonial-style house on four lakefront acres, a property worth close to $3 million.
Hey Joe, I’m tired of guys like you cutting into my action.
