CNBC Confirms Lehman CEO Punched at Gym

Ò€œFrom two very senior sources Γ’β‚¬β€œ one incredibly senior source Γ’β‚¬β€œ that he went to the gym after Ò€¦ Lehman was announced as going under. He was on a treadmill with a heart monitor on. Someone was in the corner, pumping iron and he walked over and he knocked him out cold. And frankly after having watched this, IÒ€ℒd have done the same too.Ò€

Someone had to go first.

Mac-101   October 6th, 2008 - 4:04 pm

Him and the other scum are lucky it wasn’t 200 years ago. They ALL would have been tared and feathered and ran out of town on a rail if they weren’t lynched right there on the spot.

Jail these sorry sacks of excrement!

tduck   October 6th, 2008 - 4:10 pm

… Mac-101 , is it PC to use the word , lynched?

… all this crooks , including Dodd & Barney
should have everything they own taken and throw their butts in jail ….for a very long time .
… Frank would probably like that , tho.

Snorpht FingerPoot   October 6th, 2008 - 4:13 pm

Barney could be there with his Butt-Buddy

Knocked him out? What a puss. Need to busta cap in his ass.

Sigh   October 6th, 2008 - 4:16 pm

Maybe we should get him to interview with O’Reilly. Could be almost as fun as the interview with Barney Franks.

Gotta love the one commentator: “And frankly after having watched this, IÒ€ℒd have done the same too.Ò€ Very spunky.

Marty, Boston   October 6th, 2008 - 4:26 pm

Barney and the Lehman CEO will all get to be “good buddies” in club Fed, where they belong.

That damn CEO SOB was at the gym with my hard earned money? Wish I could go to the gym..drive a nice car..live in my foreclosed home…buy groceries for my kids, must be nice!!!! Is this how we get to live the American Dream, through fraud, deception, lies, theft? These people need to be in jail…PERIOD !!!!!!

CARS   October 6th, 2008 - 4:41 pm

Cars run over and accidentally kill people every day also.

Freddie Blunder   October 6th, 2008 - 5:27 pm

People are murdered for less all the time. All the people behind this mess need to have their lives destroyed and their homes and cars and bank accounts and passports seized. The Chinese guy who sold the lead paint that ended up on US toys hung himself– These idiots need to man up and do likewise since they essentially crashed the world market. Banks and bankers, mortgage companies and all these stock market idiots have fleeced and fleeced and fleeced America… and now they want us to forgiven??? Where do we get any help? Have the banks EVER helped us or have they raped us all??? Get rid of all these idiots, throw them all in jail… make a giant example of them. No mercy.

This is my opinion that follows:

Wait until Gunny is setting in a vacant lot some night soon about 1 mile away from Richard Fuld’s home in the dark.

He’ll place a red dot on his forehead 1 second before impact!

BILL5321   October 6th, 2008 - 5:55 pm

This is the legacy that Bill Clinton left us. Clinton superheated the USA economy by changing the housing loan laws. Millions of people that did not qualify for loans got houses with little or no money down.

The government collected hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes from the flipping of houses. You know the 258 Billion dollar surplus that Clinton left Bush.

12 years later, Bush is left holding an empty Halloween bag. The tax payer ate all the candy, but now may get very sick from diabetes. The market dropped 1 trillion dollars on Pelosi poison speech. Today, markets drop another $700 million.

Clinton owes us $1,642,000,000,000 dollars.
1,700,000,000,000 lose Γ’β‚¬β€œ 258,000,000,000 surplus = 1,642,000,000,000 loss.

Thanks Bill Clinton

Rob   October 6th, 2008 - 7:17 pm

The change in home loans did not create this issue by itself.

No one and no law FORCED companies to make loans to people who could not afford those loans – or to give loans at 1% on the bet that prices would always go up so those people could sell or refinance later on prior to the readjustment.

The Republicans also changed the leverage rules that allowed companies to go to insane levels of leverage.

If CEO’s actually had some fear in their hearts – legal fear that is – they would not let their companies do this stuff – but they don’t care because it is irrelevant what happens to the company when you walk away with almost $500 million…

Lee   October 6th, 2008 - 7:19 pm

EVERY MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD should be insisting there be an investigation of Frank, Dodd, Schumer and all the other crooks in Congress who were conspiring with Raines and the other crooks at Fannie Mae!!

Don’t let them get away with blaming Wall Street!

yo1   October 6th, 2008 - 7:19 pm

While “Wall Street” has their share of greed & ignorance the problem was in 2 main areas:

Community Reinvestment Act / ACORN forcing banks to lend to non-qualified parties (democrats pandering the minority vote)

Countrywide / Fannie Mae Fraud: The fraud is rampant from the borrower lying on the application, to the mortgage underwriter knowingly pushing fraudulent paper and Fannie Mae cooking their financial statements. Fannie Mae’s fraud is huge because buyer’s believed the guarantees had value.

Therefore the pools purchased and credit default swaps were purchased/underwritten on Wall Street were done under fraudulent inducement.

Bottom line if the borrowers could pay as promised and if the mortgage originators were honest and ethical we would not have this credit crisis due to deleveraging.

Now think about this: less than 1.5% of all US homeowners will be foreclosured upon. So only a fraction of Americans’ were irresponsible / ignorant – now imagine for a moment Socialized medicine –

Socialism will destroy this country like it destroyed the Soviet Union

Russia per capita GDP $9,075 vs 46,000 for USA

Moscow is the most expensive city in the world, Russia average life expectancy for a male is 54 and Russia has the largest discrepancy of wealth (rich vs poor) of any industrialized nation.

No wonder you can order a bride on the internet from Russia.

Not to mention Russia has vast natural resources including Oil.

Hey Barack’s Obots, America is the greatest country in the world because it is free with a capitalistic economy. So tell you leader Socialism does not work it never has and it never will so stop pandering to the uneducated to get elected.

I stand corrected. A 50 caliber sniper bullet will hit a target 1 mile away after 1.95 sec.

That is ridiculous. The economy was never better than whan Clinton was running things. Its the Bush legacy and there is no denying it.

Patriot   October 6th, 2008 - 7:45 pm

What is this with wanting ANOTHER investigation by the same people that WE ALL KNOW caused these problems.

There are only two ways to change this around and give them what they deserve.

The 1st is to vote out absolutely every last politician now in office EXCEPT Ron Paul.

The 2nd option I’ll let the pi$$ed off public figure out! It entails posting the home addresses of them all!

It is up to the politicians to pass the laws and enforce them so things like this can’t happen. And it is also up to the shareholders and the board of directors not to let this happen.

Don’t you remember the democrats whining when the news of Lehman Brothers going under first came out? They wanted to know why they weren’t offered the same “deal” Bear Stearns got. Which makes this so called hearing even more silly. I listened to the first 30 minutes of it, and figured out we’d hear nothing but FannieCrat propaganda.

Josh   October 6th, 2008 - 8:38 pm

As in the days of old in Europe .. We need to set up a Guillotine and let all the banking leaders and incompetent board of directors that this is their fate should they continue to act like incompetent asses. However the rumors in Manhattan resturant scene is that these guys are eating privately in the back banquete rooms laughing it up over how they have additional millions through all the chaos on Wall Street. If an average working joe confiscated such wealth from his neighbors they would be hehind bars without a trial.

Dow   October 6th, 2008 - 9:15 pm

“The economy was never better than whan Clinton was running things. Its the Bush legacy and there is no denying it.”

The Dow never went above 11,000 under Clinton. It peaked at 14,000 under Bush in spite of the decline due to 9/11 and two wars at the same time in the middle east.

It is being brought down by Democrat financial give-away programs that go back to Clinton and earlier.

VoxDay   October 6th, 2008 - 9:22 pm

It would be a massive mistake for conservatives, libertarians and capitalists to continue supporting Republicans when there is clearly nothing conservative, libertarian or capitalist about the Republican Party. The Republican Party does not value freedom, it does not value capitalism, it does not abide by its republican principles and it does not honor the Constitution. Regardless of whether you vote Libertarian, Constitution Party or do not vote at all, you can be sure that your vote will not be wasted. Γ’β‚¬β€œ because, as events have proven time and time again over the last eight years, the only wasted vote is the vote that is cast for a Republican politician.

Steven Seagal XXVI   October 6th, 2008 - 10:48 pm

Josh, that guillotine should service some (read: most) of the members of Congress as well. Their incompetence in nearly all affairs is breathtaking. We really need to clear out the old blood and get some honest people in there. We only have a few hundred people at the very top of our federal government, and most of them are exceedingly corrupt and/or lazy.

Foul language! Angry! Crush Kill and Destroy!
Pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look guys, the CEO’s run everything and steal everything by law! You all know this.
My little own little experience was a hard lesson in ownership “law” of “in house” developed technology.

I developed a new way to use fiber optics to monitor dynamic switch failures at turn off in
high voltage semiconductor switch arrays. First of its kind. Widely applicable and very valuable to its owner. Quite nifty if I do polish my own now rusty, badge.

I nearly lost my health because the effort used me up. It took five years of my life for nothing.
Guess what, I don’t work anymore and am not allowed to take credit for the development which
is still owned by the CEO of that company.
I’m not allowed by law to give out its name. That would be “UNLAWFUL”, “LIBELOUS” and “UNETHICAL”. Also I might be jailed for standing up for justice and proper compensation!

This is just a small example of ;
you may have done the hard work but you have no rights to it at all. You can go now, was all I got for thanks. I’m on unemployed and about to become homeless.

The laws were written by these fat cat types and everytime you are hired you MUST sign your life and rights away or you don’t get hired. My experience taught me that I am nothing but grist for there mills. SO ARE YOU.

NOW to the point;
This economic “DISASTER” is very convenient and the SOS . Nothing new here just a different type of “TAKING”. If you thought you owned your 401K then you weren’t paying attention to their avaricious gluttony and covetousness of it.
They were going to take it as soon as they could figure out a way. Then along came the “BAILOUT”
and they have found out how to take it legally and efficiently. And they took it “legally” didn’t they?

Do you think they give a S–t that you know that? They have their seventy four dancing virgins and hold the remains of your workplace.
If you do then I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I could sell you. These S–m will get away I assure you. They run this show! They own you now.
What is good for the goose is good for the gander, Iv’e come to say. Take this hard earned lesson and maybe learn something from it.
It sure won’t be your livelihood you will take away though! They will own that for sure.

You actually believed in honor! I forgive your ignorance but I can’t say that among you their aren’t some of these types hiding. They should not contact me for there own safety.
If you are one of these types you are laughing at me aren’t you? WC Fields said there is a sucker born every minute.
All of you working stiffs are their victims
Nice guys finish last.
I’m not a nice guy any more. You don’t want to try that on me now. I have nothing more to lose so don’t F__K with me or I learn you something you won’t be able to take with you, except to the promised land!

Honor, Loyalty, Fialty. WORDS to these types.
Oh they are educated and know what these concepts are but they are Just words to the ultra rich. They will never be so disposed to recognize that as being of any value , unless it is to them that it is directed. Very sophisticated and “CULTURED”,These blue bloods.

CUNNING is a capability that does not distinguish us from the animal kingdom though. FOXES are cunning so are many other dangerous animals including “EDUCATED and “SOPHISTICATED” CEO’s.

Stanford trained this one. He was a “GOOD” pupil. STANFORD is a “GOOD” business school.
IVY league types are the most “CUNNING”
OBAMA.
I trust that self satisfied POS as far as I can throw him.
Same goes for almost all of the rest of them.
Funny you would think you would have little trouble finding a Good Rich “LEADER” but I can’t think of one that I would trust for a minute.
I’ll never turn my back on one of those “GOOD”
“PEOPLE” ever again.

Something FUNNY Going On   October 7th, 2008 - 4:16 am

Something “funny” (i.e., not amusing, but suspicious) is going on with ALL of this!! It feels like we are all being SET UP for another “DISASTER” that makes it necessary for the FEDS to ASSUME EVEN MORE TOTALITARIAN-LIKE POWERS…

sqeeze   October 7th, 2008 - 4:58 am

steve:

What a schizoid rant you turned out to be. Geezzz!

If you did what you say you did, you should be smart enough to know that, when you work in R&D for a company, anything you develop in their lab on their time is theirs, not yours.

btw … its already been established that it was P.T. Barnum who said, “There’s a sucker born every minute.” Not, W.C. Fields.

Seems you were born twice.

Randy   October 7th, 2008 - 12:23 pm

Folks, folks, please. The fleecing of Americans is a long and honored tradition practiced by all the “specials”, as I call them. Why are you so angry? You have joined them when you could, and are just peeved that you haven’t gotten a cut.
Hey, enjoy the coming chaos. You have, after all, been left with the bill.

Distant Observer   October 7th, 2008 - 12:26 pm

I agree with you “something funny going on”. It is coming and soon and we need to be prepared. I want to believe things are going to work out but I doubt it. Country is coming down around us and everyone is up Obama and McCains rear ends so much they can’t even think for themselves.
