Sounds like there are only 3 Republicans in the audience.

Nate K   October 4th, 2008 - 1:36 pm

Hang on, Alec Baldwin pointed a finger at a democrat…..Alec Baldwin, the Alec Baldwin, no way, i cant believe that i heard him say that, atleast he didnt spin it. I will agree its the fault of both sides, but ive watched the videos for the Fannie Mae Freddie Mac debates, the democrats really offered a lot of resistance to regulation, and thats where a lot of the blame lies.

Matt in Austin   October 4th, 2008 - 1:38 pm

Yea, Alec! I glad you didn’g move to France, afterall.

walt   October 4th, 2008 - 1:44 pm

Wow, I agree with Alec. I also think we’re letting local governemnts and adjustable rate mortgages off the hook. ARMs were rarely disclosed to the consumer ina clear and understandable manner, in that the disclosure laws were written before ARMs were common place and they truth in lending disclosures do not disclose what the payments will be down the roand. Most consumers could EASILY afford their mortgage until the readjusted and usually the 2d or 3 adjustment. Not only that but local governments were also benefitting by the real estate boom and quickly adjusted property values up and real estate taxes doubled (funny hwo they aren’t adjusting down though). So, combine a mortgage that ups 400 or more dollars a month, plus real estate taxes going up and its no wonder that their are more foreclosures. Why don’t we freeze interest rates! Then those that own the note will get pay and the homeowner keeps the house keep paying, instead of the taxpayer. But I speaak to late as congress has sold out the middle class. And now the greedy states are putting their hands out, WHEN WILL IT STOP?

Travis   October 4th, 2008 - 1:45 pm

This credit mess has its roots in the Community Reinvestment Act.

Alex   October 4th, 2008 - 1:53 pm

Who cares what this clown thinks. He is after all a blockhead, a moron and a goof!

Go back home and play, Alec!

Lee   October 4th, 2008 - 1:55 pm

Quick, check — is it snowing in hell? Are pigs flying?

Alec Baldwin speaking the truth! Wonder of wonders! If you wait long enough — miracles do happen!

I’m going to buy a lottery ticket!

HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH!

Dude #787666   October 4th, 2008 - 1:58 pm

The title is wrong. If you watch the whole video, he also said there is enough blame to go around to everybody.

El Capitan   October 4th, 2008 - 2:12 pm

Dude,

Just because there is enough blame to go around does not mean that one is not more deserving of it then the other.

Nater   October 4th, 2008 - 2:19 pm

Way to go Alec! I have to give you kudos for speaking out like that, thanks. Thanks for “Hunt for Red October” too! Incidentally, Maher has to be the lowest of the low

jillhill   October 4th, 2008 - 2:21 pm

Oh if he had just shut up while he was ahead…and I like the non-biased CNN reporter…

Hey, mom! Barney made a mess!   October 4th, 2008 - 2:28 pm

Glad to hear Baldwin tatlking sense for a change.

Doubt he’ll be back on Bill Mahnure’s show anytime soon.

Liz   October 4th, 2008 - 2:42 pm

I rarely agree with Alec Baldwin’s views.

However, you gotta give him credit. He called it like he saw it. This wasn’t a one party mistake or a one president mistake. The financial crisis was a result of many people’s actions, on both sides.

Felix   October 4th, 2008 - 2:46 pm

Alex who ? Didn’t he move to France.
Who cares what washed up actors think,
even if he is correct for once.

Mary   October 4th, 2008 - 2:48 pm

This was the Democrats…plain and simple…Greed got the best of them…and it’s still happening…it’s all crap….John F. Kennedy is rolling over…along with Martin Luther King

HWP   October 4th, 2008 - 3:00 pm

He had me when he blamed the Dems., he lost me when he got to Palin. He just really hates women. I mean calling his daughter a pig…does she wear lipstick? He’s still a d!#khead.

S   October 4th, 2008 - 3:17 pm

Wow maybe he is awakening from the darkside. Way to go Alec. If you don’t believe him go to talktorusty.com and watch the Senate hearings or see the Franks ex lover was on the board at Fannie Mae. etc etc

S   October 4th, 2008 - 3:20 pm

Hey Gary first of all your not funny and your HBO show suc***. It didn’t sneak up on anybody. Instead of guessing its all public record. Go back and look at the Senate hearings in 2004. Thats right Gary 2004, 4 years ago when they were saying Fannie Mae wasn’t looking good. Maybe its because Obamas economic adivsor Frank Raines was CEO then or maybe it was because Barney Franks Gay lover was on the board at Fannie Mae. Wake up you idiot.

Hickok   October 4th, 2008 - 3:27 pm

Nice phuckin roundtable assembled by Maher. Baldwin, Shandling and the Muslim Without A Burka, Amanpour. I did like when Baldwin said to Shandling, “I’m gonna rape you.” Then he segued into Barney Fag, so obviously Baldwin has rape fantasies. Maher is a smarmy phaggot himself, who said the 9/11 terrorists weren’t cowards. Maybe he and Baldwin would enjoy being raped by them. Great country we have, where this kind of bullsheet is packaged as entertainment, and so many folks enjoy it.

Eileen   October 4th, 2008 - 3:27 pm

Well, thank you Mr Baldwin. At least there are some Democrats that are taking responsibility.

You know…everyone says don’t point fingers…there is enough blame to go around…well I say hooey to that!

Eileen   October 4th, 2008 - 3:28 pm

Dude #787666   October 4th, 2008 - 3:39 pm

El Capitan, my comment was about the title. I’m not taking side. I’m going to be screwed with higher taxes due to the bailout like everybody else.

Casie   October 4th, 2008 - 3:42 pm

Holy Crap! I can’t believe I actually agree with a loon like Alec Baldwin…I don’t know whether to laugh or go get my head checked. His brother must be having an influence on him…

Eileen   October 4th, 2008 - 3:45 pm

As to blame, it is important to place blame to get to the root of the problem.

If I woke up one morning and found a dead body in my backyard, do you think I would just be satisfied to have them take it away?

No…I’d want to know how they died. Were they murdered, was it natural causes, were they in an accident? Then my next question would be who did it and why? Is there any possibly they are going to do it again? We need answers. We need to find out who did this to punish the person(s)who did it and make sure it never happens again.

We already know it goes back to the Jimmy (Hamas) Carter administration. Then it moved on through the ranks through Clinton.

Then finally when the body was first found or the signs of eminent danger first appeared at Fannie Mae…who sounded the warnings? Plenty of economists, Senators (including John McCain) who tried to pass a bill to prevent the problem and President Bush who repeatedly warned of danger and tried to get the Congress to cut it off at the pass.

But guess what…Barney Frank and the banking committee and the Speaker of the failed Democratic House – Marie Antoinette – Pelosi and her cronies (Reid, Schumer, etc.) blocked all efforts to ward off danger. Said it was fine…no problem here! So you see the danger was recognized but ignored by the Congress.

But wait, America, Congress had their hands in the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac cookie jar. The Democratic candidate for President who now comes out and speaks so highly and forcibly on getting this financial crisis taken care of…was the largest recipient of funds for his campaigns from Fannie Mae. What a sleaze ball of a candidate! America…let us hold all responsible for this fiasco that is costing us…us…over $700 billion?

Then they have the nerve, the nerve to tack on pork for another $100 million. America, these representatives have lost their minds! They have lost their way. They have become so slick, so sleazy, so self-serving that it just blows one’s mind. They need to go…we need to clean house.

Let’s start by finding out who tacked on those items to this financial crisis. Let their heads roll! Send them home packing…we have had enough.

America…let’s get the names and the states they represent and tell their people what they did and tell them to clean house once and for all Americans.

VOTER REVOLUTION HERE AND NOW!

Not to be picky, but to correct Marys post: Martin Luther King was a Republican and by toadys standards, JFK would be considered a right winger.

Wolfen   October 4th, 2008 - 4:22 pm

Who gives a dam what this nitwit Alec Baldwin says or thinks. If i wanted his opinion I would ask.

Now Alec go home and don’t verbally abuse you little girl anymore.

the Dude   October 4th, 2008 - 4:22 pm

Frank should resign and Baldwin is still a tool.

AbuBakerSmith   October 4th, 2008 - 4:29 pm

The financial was an act of terrorism. the bailout, blame, fingerpointing orgy going on now is simply the dupes whose selfishness and greed allowed them to be used to pull the attack off attempt to cover up the fact that they facilitated this attack. don’t believe it harken back to the words of Abu Hamza and even Ramsey Yousef in the 90’s, even as recently as 2005 Osama warned they were going after the economy and just before this crisis broke AlQueda spoke of the “October Surprise”. All of the Politicians and market movers, ceo’s etc are now covering up the fact that they were used as unwitting dupes to facilitate this. Had the Christian world simple listened and obeyed the words of Christ when he spoke of the evils of Usery (which is a crime in biblical law) and what Jesus said about the money changers, this could not have happened. you failed to follow the tenents of your own faith and this is the fruit. jesus said that on judgement he would not know you if you did not obey God’s law.

Scott   October 4th, 2008 - 4:42 pm

HOLY SPIT! Alec feaking BALDWIN? Stand by, every one…there may be hope for this election cycle yet!

Tom   October 4th, 2008 - 4:45 pm

Alec hit the target few times. Other shots went wild.

ScottGrimshaw   October 4th, 2008 - 5:08 pm

Lets be fair. Alec Baldwin was correct, and spoke the truth. Props to him. Enough said.

JustAnotherGuy   October 4th, 2008 - 5:14 pm

If they keep teaching Democrats to read, this will become an epidemic. I’m scared.

Stan   October 4th, 2008 - 5:17 pm

The “reporter” from CNN and Shandling were doing the typical “Bush’s fault” nonsense (Bush and MCCain tried in 2003 to get Fannie Mae and Freedie Mac under control, Frank and Dodd stopped the effort)and Baldwin introduced the THRUTH. Amazing. If you find yourself on a panel of fou and the ONLY one making sense is Alec Baldwin, you know you’re among fools.

Baldwin making sense, we live in weird times.

Take a look before you crush Alec. He’s right. :(
I want Barney Frank, Chuck Schumer, Chris Dodd and many other held accountable for this. I didn’t get all the names in this particular video but apparently there are many more. These people need to go to jail. THEY LIED to cover their own butts and it’s going to take US to bail them all out while they still have their jobs? NO WAY.

smc341   October 4th, 2008 - 5:23 pm

Why is it that Congress held hearings for steroids in Baseball but they ignore what is going on in the housing market for years on both sides??? Who even cares about steroid use in Major League Baseball????? Who does it affect???Wall Street Greed and the Community Reinvestment Act led to this as well as the abolishment of the Glass Steagall Act. We need Congressional Hearings on this matter now. We need accountability.

Debb   October 4th, 2008 - 5:25 pm

Hmm…Alec Baldwin calls out the Dems, President Clinton and Barney Frank. Gosh, I wish McCain would get so bold and daring. Sarah Barracuda to the rescue!

Rob in Florida   October 4th, 2008 - 5:28 pm

IT’S ABOUT TIME SOME TRUTH STARTING COMING OUT ABOUT THE DEMOCRATS FAULT IN THIS!
Generally, Alec Baldwin is a wingnut. I’m quite surprised he got this one right.

Robin in Georgia   October 4th, 2008 - 5:33 pm

Wow, I never thought I would agree with a word out of Alec’s mouth. Maybe he has finally come to his senses and sees the truth instead of propoganda. Maybe he has been one of the millions who have seen the proof in the multitude of C-Span footage of Dems’ repeated lies that “Fannie and Freddie are just fine and you are being irrational and racist you mean Republicans”.

Notice how the conversation was going fast toward a Bush bashing segment until he pointed out the truth, that every one of them knew but would never say out loud.

President Bush’s biggest mistake is in letting the opinion of Secretary Paulson guide him in this crisis. He should have a round-table discussion with business managers, financial wizards, and banking managers to determine best how to solve our problems. I have zero faith in Paulson, or our Democratic majority Congress, who mostly have their hands stuck in the cookie jar of greed. Republicans’ biggest mistake in this is not loudly screaming out to the media about the problems they saw years ago, and instead they called special hearings in Congress,(as far back as 2001). They should have forced a vote on the attempts to reign-in F&F, so that we would not have to explain to people that they needed 60 votes in Senate and the Dems blocked them from ever voting on the issues.

Thank goodness people’s eyes are open now. Maybe we can force Congress to stop the mayhem. The CRA needs to be abolished. It is the root cause of this. People who cannot afford to buy a home and make their payments do not deserve to buy one. Congress made it so that people on welfare and foodstamps and Medicaid were able to claim their welfare and foodstamps and Medicaid as sources of income, thus enabling them to meet the guidelines. How could they not see this as a problem?

Just because you want what your neighbor has doesn’t mean that you are entitled to have it. Work and save money, and you will then be able to have it also. We struggle to pay our mortgage, and our other bills, as the price of gas and food is so high that it eats into the money we used to spend on other living expenses. But, we manage. We do without when needed. I have not had sushi for over 2 years, wah… I miss it so much. But we do not believe that we are entitled to free money from our govt.

And as for taxes.. well, maybe so. But only if, I repeat, ONLY IF, everybody pays taxes. More than 40% of Americans pay zero, $0.00, income taxes. Yet they recieve Earned Income Tax refunds every year. Up to $2,500.00. How is that fair? They are the ones that recieve all of the government services, yet they pay nothing toward to cost of those services.

Rob in Florida   October 4th, 2008 - 5:37 pm

Now how about some truth in the fallacy of Obama!

The criminals on the banking side work WITH Obama!

Where are news media exposing these Facts???

My Muslim faith tells me they’re in Alaska.

FISHER   October 4th, 2008 - 5:47 pm

Yes. The fact that there are about 4 PEOPLE APPLAUDING the fact the Barney and the Dems bent over and let Wall Street ream them is evidence as to blind so many on the left are.

I am telling you: THE DEMOCRATS HAVE THEIR FINGERPRINTS ALL FREAKING OVER THIS THING!!!!

Navy65   October 4th, 2008 - 6:19 pm

I think Alec Baldwin has been HANNITIZED!

TEAM PLAYERS?   October 4th, 2008 - 6:33 pm

Wow, firt Bill Clinton now Alec, both pointing out the truth, rather than being team players. I might have just got a little respect for the 2 for the first time.

jandj   October 4th, 2008 - 7:36 pm

i just read on gretawire that the pres of yhe la nwo is endorsing palin said shes tire of all the left wing femminist thats gonna chap obama and hillarys ass big time

Irene Flick   October 4th, 2008 - 7:46 pm

Wow – Alec is sticking his neck out far and his former friends will have a field day trying to cut his throat. That was brave. New respect for him is in order. Maybe this is the incident that gives Alex the epiphany about the left.

There is no evidence that Obama/Biden know anything whatsoever about the economy. Because they just blew half a billion dollars trying to get him elected does not mean he will know how to handle any real economic entity, including the McDonald’s down on the corner.

500 million and I bet his brother still lives in that box.

zqll   October 4th, 2008 - 7:56 pm

Alec Baldwin is right for a change. Maybe he is listening to his brother.

From the New York Times
“September 11, 2003
New Agency Proposed to Oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae
By STEPHEN LABATON
The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.
Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry.
The new agency would have the authority, which now rests with Congress, to set one of the two capital-reserve requirements for the companies. It would exercise authority over any new lines of business. And it would determine whether the two are adequately managing the risks of their ballooning portfolios.
The plan is an acknowledgment by the administration that oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — which together have issued more than $1.5 trillion in outstanding debt — is broken. A report by outside investigators in July concluded that Freddie Mac manipulated its accounting to mislead investors, and critics have said Fannie Mae does not adequately hedge against rising interest rates.
Significant details must still be worked out before Congress can approve a bill. Among the groups denouncing the proposal today were the National Association of Home Builders and Congressional Democrats who fear that tighter regulation of the companies could sharply reduce their commitment to financing low-income and affordable housing.
”These two entities — Fannie Mae and Freddie
Mac — are not facing any kind of financial crisis,” said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ”The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.”
Representative Melvin L. Watt, Democrat of North Carolina, agreed.
”I don’t see much other than a shell game going on here, moving something from one agency to another and in the process weakening the bargaining power of poorer families and their ability to get affordable housing,” Mr. Watt said.”

Alec Baldwan is a moron. Nothing he has ever said except this has been true.

Even Sarah Palin is smarter and more honest than this man.

zqll   October 4th, 2008 - 8:08 pm

The following is from ireport.com

“from the Congressional Record:

FEDERAL HOUSING ENTERPRISE REGULATORY REFORM ACT OF 2005
The United States Senate
May 25, 2006
Sen. John McCain [R-AZ]: Mr. President, this week Fannie Mae’s regulator reported that the company’s quarterly reports of profit growth over the past few years were “illusions deliberately and systematically created” by the company’s senior management, which resulted in a $10.6 billion accounting scandal.
The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight’s report goes on to say that Fannie Mae employees deliberately and intentionally manipulated financial reports to hit earnings targets in order to trigger bonuses for senior executives. In the case of Franklin Raines, Fannie Mae’s former chief executive officer, OFHEO’s report shows that over half of Mr. Raines’ compensation for the 6 years through 2003 was directly tied to meeting earnings targets. The report of financial misconduct at Fannie Mae echoes the deeply troubling $5 billion profit restatement at Freddie Mac.
The OFHEO report also states that Fannie Mae used its political power to lobby Congress in an effort to interfere with the regulator’s examination of the company’s accounting problems. This report comes some weeks after Freddie Mac paid a record $3.8 million fine in a settlement with the Federal Election Commission and restated lobbying disclosure reports from 2004 to 2005. These are entities that have demonstrated over and over again that they are deeply in need of reform.
For years I have been concerned about the regulatory structure that governs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac-known as Government-sponsored entities or GSEs-and the sheer magnitude of these companies and the role they play in the housing market. OFHEO’s report this week does nothing to ease these concerns. In fact, the report does quite the contrary. OFHEO’s report solidifies my view that the GSEs need to be reformed without delay.
I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole.
I urge my colleagues to support swift action on this GSE reform legislation.”
—–
“Alas, thanks to the Democrat Party and the special interests of the left, both of these attempts to reform the banking system were still born.

But isn’t it funny how our watchdog media have missed these two stories?”

Kudoos to Alex. We’re way to far gone not to pull our heads out of the sand and figure out what to do to fix it. As Eileen said we need to identify, investigate, sieze assets and incarcerate those guilty. Something is wrong when Martha Stewart is the last high profile person to go to jail. And that was for buying stock from her broker/friend. Isn’t theat the game, pay advisors who aledgedly have “HOT” info and invest. That sure shut up conservative NON RINO Repubs.

Mac-101   October 4th, 2008 - 9:57 pm

The amussing thing about this meltdown is it appears to me to be a simple triple punch.

1. It has been apparent that for the last 5 years real estate prices in California, Florida and Nevada were rediculous and unsustanable. People aforded the properties by refinancing every 5 years for 125% of apprasied value. Pay of credit card debt, have a little spare change and spend themselves back into debt repeating the proccess ever 5 years. This came to a halt about a year ago when property values started to decrease instead of increase.

2. Gas prices increased drastrically, effecting people across the board, this is where Fanny and Freddy went down.

3. If we have a cold winter, the NE people are going to go bust and the housing situation will once again collapse. After the election they will jack up the price of gas and the people will go broke.

For how long are the Oil Ticks and Chi-Coms going to prop us up. This doesn’t even include the massive inflation that is bound to hit us with all this deficiet spending!

It’s going to get REAL UGLY!

RIChris   October 4th, 2008 - 10:05 pm

It IS the Democrats and Barney Frank who caused this to happen and when they were told by the Republicans they cried ‘Racism!’. Barney Frank was getting BJs throughout the nineties from his boyfriend who was an executive at Freddie/Fannie. WYF!

mabey he’s starting to learn. white collar blaming blue collar, gets to me when in the past couple of years there have been tons of jobs lost, rising energy cost, rising food cost, downsizing, global outsourcing, lower wages, immigration which has hurt blue collar workers. then they turn around and wonder why they can’t pay the bills. Especially the type of loans they gave out. And lets not forget the golden parachute deals. pitiful. And yes I’m going for the McCain/Palin ‘08 ticket.

I agree with Alec. Whatever happened dodn’t blame OBAMA. If anyone blamed OBAMA that person will be accused of racist hatemonger. :-)

DON’T touch black people, they are special though they supported the terrorist Bill Ayers.

Charles Bakel   October 5th, 2008 - 12:27 am

It’s pretty ridiculous to expect the average taxpayer to front this crisis but if we do it shouldn’t be to pay the same guys that fueled it in the first place.

There are some great firms out there that kept their distance from subprime, not believing the propaganda that the housing market defies gravity. Take a look at this list:

He calls himself a libertarian–he’s a frickin’ cynical, sarcastic, malevolent piece of pinko dung. $2300 per person? Are you kidding?? What talking points memo did he get that from? A libertarian that loves taxation–theirs a new one.

We all want to like Alec Baldwin again but he is a party hack bromide underneath it all folks.

Don’t let a few statements while chumming-it-up with pond-scum like the anti-American Maher fool you.

First of all I am surprised Alec would ever point his finger at any Democrat. But Alec isn’t exactly on target about glass steagall. True, Clinton did sign glass steagall and most everyone in both the Senate and Congress voted for it also, but glass steagall wasn’t the problem. Glass Steagall allowed banks and brokerage firms to get into each others business. That didn’t create the problem with housing. If anything it saved a few firms like Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns from bankruptcy. No, the root of the problem was with the Community Redevelopment Act, or CRA. The CRA was started in 1977 under Carter, but it didn’t create any problems till the Clinton Administration rewrote the CRA rules. He basically put the act on steroids. The CRA was developed to see low income families get into homes and thereby move up into the middle class. A laudable goal, but the methodology was the problem. The CRA didn’t make banks put people into sub-prime loans, but if they wanted to eventually expand their business and not run into government roadblocks in growing their business, their CRA score had to be high enough. So play by our rules or stay a little friendly 1 bank branch. The rest Alec said about the Democrats covering up Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and blocking reform is true. Ultimately, the roots of this housing crisis is squarely in the laps of the Democratic party.

And yet, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Christopher Dodd, Barney Frank, and Barack Obama have sticked with the lie that this is the fault of Bush and the Republicans. The bias media has refused to do any investigative journalism with the exception of Fox news. Voters aren’t smart enough and now they are rewarding the Democrats and Barack Obama for lieing their asses off to you. So good luck!

Hellz Bellz, the Jews on Wall Street tell us to DO this and we jump like Lemmings! SO we bail out the banker who should have known about the bad paper loans! But STOP and for once JUST SAY NO TO THESE CHOSEN ONES! But that is anti-semitic…. I say it is not anti-semitic to call bums bums. I say its about time!

The Gramm-Leach-Blily Act of 1999 doesn’t have anything to do with it; I am sure.
You know; Phil Gramm, Sen. McCain’s Financial Advisor, sponsored and pushed for that DEREGULATION Bill.
Yup, all the Democrats’ fault.

Sundowner   October 5th, 2008 - 9:20 am

Was just thinking, if a fringe left loon like Alec Baldwin can understand the reality of the housing crisis, just what exactly is that saying for the people insisting this was the republican’s fault. hehe Looks like Baldwin had a momentary awakening so we can only hold out hope for the rest of the left fringe.

[...] very gravity of the situation can demolish frivolity and produce unexpectedly clear thinking. This YouTube video clip shows Alec Baldwin blaming Barney Frank and the Democrats in large measure for the subprime crisis. [...]

It’s funny to watch the mustached inbiased hag from CNN,when Alec Baldwin of all people calls the Demo rats out on how they looked the other way while Fannie Mae was screwing America, the mutt was absolutely silent ,what a hack.

I’ll give Mr. Baldwin credit for being one of the only fair and balanced liberals I’ve ever heard. He has more credibility than the typical looney left Hollywood bigmouth because he realizes there are two sides to the story unlike the typical radical jerks who show up on Maers program.

ralph   October 5th, 2008 - 12:58 pm

Well he’s correct on the responsibility of this economic mess he still does’t ,seem very disturbed enough about it that he still espouses the election of more liberal democrats. These crooks should be in orange jumpsuits. Where are the calls for Grand Jury’s and federal prosecutors? Their argument for more taxes is a typical liberal democrat position. If the Government only did what was mandated in the Constitution we would be paying LESS taxes. But instead they try and have their noses in every aspect of our lives, trying to control everything. The liberal’s are all for more of it no matter what the cost, what a disgrace.

Debbie Va   October 5th, 2008 - 3:00 pm

I hope Alec Baldwin agrees with Joe Biden that it is Patriotic to pay taxes. The State of California is asking the federal governemnt for a “bailout”. If Baldwin agrees with Biden then he will want the citizens of California to kick in a lot of money and pay California out of the mess their politicians created

Right there people. That is today’s left/Democrat Party. Those folks NEED “our” help. The sad part is that African Americans began to believe it.

When taxes go down revenues go UP.
When taxes go up revenue goes DOWN.
This is basic economics.
Alec you need to spend more family time with your brother Stephen.
