Don’t worry, Obama’s “Truth’s Squads” are already taking the first steps towards this wonderful vision of society you envision.

Gus   September 29th, 2008 - 3:08 pm

No doubt he’s either a member of the Democratic Underground or DailyKos.

After todays failure to pass the bailout bill we all have to be on heightened alert for individuals with advanced stages of Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS). I sometimes think of it as the liberal freak-out factor. In the final stages it is accompanied by public rants usually on the local city bus followed by spontaneous combustion.

Sue   September 29th, 2008 - 3:15 pm

This callers remarks are disgusting!

Let’s put the blame where it belongs:

That guy probably had to go to his news job at NBC or PMSNBC.

Now here is a candidate for Anger Management.
Funny!! Suggest this guy sleep with a plastic bag over his head secured tightly about the neck.

Clearly, law school did not agree with him.

To blame only Bush and Cheney is just silly. It’s Big Business, Lobbyists, and almost all politicians. Start by voting EVERYBODY out.

dennis d   September 29th, 2008 - 3:30 pm

Dems have a majority. Pelosi can’t get her party under control

Spirit of '76   September 29th, 2008 - 3:40 pm

I know Bob Tyrell. With all due respect to his past accomplishments, Who cares what he thinks?

More to the point, the caller holds a legitimate course of action and, “in the good old days”, many sovereigns met their demise over much less than is alleged against Mssrs Bush and Cheyney.

“Turtles! More turtles!” He bellowed and brayed. And the turtles ‘way down in the pond were afraid. They trembled. They shook. But they came. They obeyed.”

“Came a groan from that plain little turtle named Mack.” “Your majesty, please… I don’t like to complain, but down here below, we are feeling great pain.” “That plain little turtle below in the stack. That plain little turtle whose name was just Mack, decided he’d taken enough. And he had. And that plain little lad got a little bit mad. And that plain little Mack did a plain little thing. He burped!” “And his burp shook the throne of the king.” Dr. Seuss

Sounds like the king of goof-balls, Keith Olbermann, has had his phone privileges restored.

“Shortly after his rant the caller was apprehended in the bedroom of a 17 year old girl wearing nothing but a mask and latex gloves. The girls father put him out of his misery.”

This guy is right in a sense…
Bush Cheney and any other cockamamee elected individual are representative of our society…They came about because we voted/established them as representational of us.
Even if you are a staunch Democrat…this law still applies.
So each of us needs to drag ourselves out into the town square and hang until death…
Problem solved.

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

That asshole said call the Ss… well call em on me too!!

I want Bush and cheney dragged from the White House and hung in the rose garden.

Come get me. I will say the same thing.

What is happening in this country. these men are thieves and liars… and should be treated as such.

Carol Warmington   September 29th, 2008 - 6:11 pm

TYRELL said call the SS?!?!

then call them on me as well. I think Bush/Cheney should be dragged from the White House and hung until they are dead dead dead.

These men are criminals. They are responsible for international terrorism, including 9.11.

If we don’t prosecute and hang them – others will think they can do the same.

HANG EM!!

I just sent Tyrell’s magazine my REAL name and address – told them to send the SS.

Ritty77   September 29th, 2008 - 6:37 pm

Carol, What is “happening” in this country is people like you.

People like you who talk much but know very little.

People like you who talk tough but are the biggest cowards.

If you’re really tough, change the wording of your wish. Tell us all what YOU’RE GOING TO DO instead of what you WANT done. See the difference, dolt? And add some details so we know you’re really serious.

Carol, why is it that with all the hatred you and your ilk have for Mr. Bush, why haven’t you already taken him out? Because you’re a big mouth,a punk, a loser, and very, very weak.

Ironically, you’ll be voting for the biggest liar of them all, if you even vote.

Idiot!

Fred Mars   September 29th, 2008 - 8:03 pm

tduck for President. With his eloquence and intelligence, he can solve this mess.

It doesn’t matter if you think that Bush and Cheney have done a bad job. They are the President and Vice President and they must be treated with complete respect. You are entitled to your opinion but you are not entitled to speak poorly of elected officials. They were elected by the people so if you say something bad about them, you say it about all people. If you have something bad to say, write it in your diary and then burn the diary or go find one of those Free Speech Zones which are in places so remote that only the FBI can hear you.

Bart   September 29th, 2008 - 8:16 pm

I’m just waiting for someone to blame the current mess on Clinton. Whatever Clinton did or didn’t do, if Bush and his guys couldn’t fix it in 8 years, they are a pretty sorry lot.

The Prophet   September 29th, 2008 - 8:27 pm

Prominent Democrats ran Fannie Mae, the same government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) that donated campaign cash to top Democrats. And one of Fannie Mae’s main defenders in the House – Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., a recipient of more than $40,000 in campaign donations from Fannie since 1989 – was once romantically involved with a Fannie Mae executive.

The media coverage of Frank’s coziness with Fannie Mae and his pro-Fannie Mae stances has been lacking. Of the eight appearances Frank made on the three broadcasts networks between Jan. 1, 2008, and Sept. 21, 2008, none of his comments dealt with the potential conflicts of interest. Only six of the appearances dealt with the economy in general and two of those appearances, including an April 6, 2008 appearance on CBS’s “60 Minutes” were about his opposition to a manned mission to Mars.

Frank has argued that family life “should be fair game for campaign discussion,” wrote the Associated Press on Sept. 2. The comment was in reference to GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin and her pregnant daughter. “They’re the ones that made an issue of her family,” the Massachusetts Democrat said to the AP.

The news media have covered the relationship in the past, but there have been no mentions since 2005, according to Nexis and despite the collapse of Fannie Mae. The July 3, 1998, Reliable Source column in The Washington Post reported Frank, who is openly gay, had a relationship with Herb Moses, an executive for the now-government controlled Fannie Mae. The column revealed the two had split up at the time but also said Frank was referring to Moses as his “spouse.” Another Washington Post report said Frank called Moses his “lover” and that the two were “still friends” after the breakup.

Frank was and remains a stalwart defender of Fannie Mae, which is now under FBI investigation along with its sister organization Freddie Mac, American International Group Inc. (NYSE:AIG) and Lehman Brothers (NYSE:LEH) – all recently participants in government bailouts. But Frank has derailed efforts to regulate the institution, as well as denying it posed any financial risk. Frank’s office has been unresponsive to efforts by the Business & Media Institute to comment on these potential conflicts of interest.

While the relationship reportedly ended 10 years ago, Frank was serving on the House Banking Committee the entire 10 years they were together. The committee is the primary House body which along with the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) has jurisdiction over the government-sponsored enterprises.

I personally believe that both the 2000 and 2004 elections were fixed. And I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this one is fixed as well. We no longer have any control over what our government does anymore. If we ever really did. It’s their show, we’re just bystanders and victims of their tyranny.

Yet another uninformed “Democrat”. Believes the lies of the Flim Flam Obamaman and his posse!

America…check the records of the Congress. You can get them anywhere on the net. The Democrats failed to do anything about the pending crisis years ago…even though they were repeatedly warned!

President Elect McCain tried to put through a bill to correct Fannie & Freddie, the Democratic controlled Congress blocked it.

President Bush repeatedly tried to get reforms done on Freddie and Fannie…the Democratic controlled Congress blocked it.

The Democratic controlled Congress did nothing because their hands were in the cookie jar. Dodd, Frank, Obama, etc. They were getting money from them and didn’t want to upset the apple cart.

America, we need to clean house! We need to clean out the Speaker of the Democratic failed House – Marie Antoinette – Pelosi and her cronies. They have been a do nothing Congress. They have played partisan politics every time…today’s speeches and TV ops were just another example of their not taking the blame for what they brought on the American people.

I am voting for President Elect McCain and Vice President Elect Palin in November. In addition, I am voting straight Republican to get as many of these devious Democratic slugs to go home and retire.

VOTER REVOLUTION…HERE AND NOW!

buckeye view   September 30th, 2008 - 4:08 am

One can readily understand the caller’s frustration and his cry for justice in this debacle, but in addition to being harsh in the extreme, his focus is almost entirely misplaced.

The real culprits in this mess are people like Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid. Also, virtually the entire congressional black caucus, and people like Barack Obama, Franklin Raines, Daniel Mudd and Jim Johnson have been complicit in turning this fiasco into one of the U.S. government’s most infamous economic and political scandals of all time. By contrast, it makes the 1920s Teapot Dome and a host of other U.S. government scandals over the past 300 years pale by comparison.

Indeed, in recent years — as has been well documented — many Democrats have conspired to create a cash cow out of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, funneling huge political campaign donations, loans and special low interest mortgages to themselves and others under the guise of “extending the American Dream to the disadvantaged.“ The only problem is that far too many in this group had not the wherewithal (education, training, job or income) to pay for their slice of the dream so we are now left with a housing market glut, falling real estate values, loan defaults and foreclosures — and all of the other baggage that goes with this mess.

Meanwhile, one of the most disappointing failures associated with this emerging scandal is the role played thus far by the U.S. news media. For the most part it has been missing in action when it comes to covering this story and establishing the truth. Indeed, as the U.S. economic sector is being rushed to emergency, the nation’s news media has given up ambulance chasing. As a result, the real story is going unreported while the media continues to ride the Barack Obama campaign express..

Were it not so serious, the biased coverage of the campaign by the so-called fourth estate easily could be mistaken for yet another humorless skit by the Saturday Night Live gang, which has joined late night TV, Hollywood, the music industry and shows like The View as extensions of the leftist political propaganda machine now at work in our nation. Indeed, Joseph Goebbels and the editors of Tass and Pravda would be proud.

In the final analysis, I fear this caller’s rant is but a further example of the very serious intolerance that has been building in this country in recent decades regarding political discourse and government. What should concern all of us is whether radical elements in our society will continue to grow in strength or whether men and women of good faith will regain control before it is too late.

You won’t believe where that $700-billion bailout figure came from:

“It’s not based on any particular data point,” a Treasury spokeswoman told Forbes.com Tuesday. “We just wanted to choose a really large number.”

They made it up to be sufficiently ginormous to frighten everyone into rapid action.

And it worked.

This video shows a republican bias, but I know there is a republican in Utah who is just as much to blame for all of this. It started in the Clinton admin and fell over to the Bush.
