My favs of his, in order were, The Hustler, The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean, Cool Hand Luke and Butch Cassidy and he Socialist Commie Kid.

Love the fact he and Joanne Woodward endured all the crap Hollyweird dished-out in their married years together to remain loving and married to each other all those years too.

He certainly was in the realm of the best actors of ALL TIME surpassing Brando. Many including my self grew up watching and identifying with his movies talking and laughing about them far later after watching them. He was and is one of the immortals and will live forever in our hearts and as long as there is a movie screen. The rebellious manner he could project in a character so many of us deemed so cool and was copied by many. This is a loss that cannot ever be replaced.

God Bless You, Paul & Joanne   September 27th, 2008 - 2:49 pm

The whole world is mourning over losing you, Paul. You and your simple, honest, low-key humor, acting aplomb, and basic good nature made your way into hearts the world over. If you made someone’s Enemies List, you laughed, calling it an honor! It is so rare that someone we’ve never met can be so dear to us. You were a rare soul. You will be missed, but just remembering you will light up our hearts.

God bless you and Joanne, now and always.

I have never agreed with his political views, however I have always had a great fondness and respect for his acting abilities. One of the best Western’s ever made was ‘HOMBRE’. He was truly a master of his craft and will be terribly missed by millions ..God bless him !

He was one of the special ones. He lived a life anyone would be proud to live. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

Enzo,
Paul Newman will be missed and mourned by millions of people.

When you die you will be lucky if a handful of people care or bother to show up when they plant you. They can probably share a cab to the viewing to cut expenses.

Paul Newman was the love of my cousin and I When he married Joanne Woodward we were angry
but he was the greatest. I also did not agree with his liberalism but could forgive him because he was one great actor.
