Bravo to John McCain for pointing out the hypocrisy of Barack Obama. I will not let actors and actresses influence my vote – I am educated enough to make it on my own, thank you.

This IS NOT RACE! IT IS the about Obama HAVING THE LEAST EXPERIENCE OF ANY CANDIDATE EVER RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. HE IS AN EMPTY SUIT WHO WANTS TO TURN AMERICA INTO A SOCIALIST STATE – THIS IS NOT A LIE, OBAMA IS THE LIE. RESEARCH, READ, INFORM YOURSELF.

Leslie in Texas   September 17th, 2008 - 1:16 pm

And, just the night before, McCain raised $5,000,000.00 in Florida. They all fund raise but because Obama is accepting PAC money he has to more. He really isn’t an empty suit, here are a few of Obama’s accomplishments:

In the Illinois State Senate, he worked with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. He also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education, and after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Obama worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.

In the U.S. Senate, his first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent. He has also been the lead voice in championing ethics reform that would root out Jack Abramoff-style corruption in Congress.

As a member of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Senator Obama has fought to help Illinois veterans get the disability pay they were promised, while working to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan. Recognizing the terrorist threat posed by weapons of mass destruction, he traveled to Russia with Republican Dick Lugar to begin a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world. And knowing the threat we face to our economy and our security from America’s addiction to oil, he’s working to bring auto companies, unions, farmers, businesses and politicians of both parties together to promote the greater use of alternative fuels and higher fuel standards in our cars.

Plus, he’s a decent guy overall. He doesn’t run a smear campaign and I don’t find him at all hypocritcal. I HAVE researched and read and have formed the opinion that he will be a good, positive choice.

I can’t help but feel McCain is whoring himself to get elected. What happened to the Maverick? He used to oppose party lines regardless of how unpopular it was. An example is he wanted Joe Lieberman for VP but settled for Palin because his party pressured him and because she is a woman.

The McCain of 8 years ago was a great choice, in fact, I voted for him in the primary but now, this McCain dissapoints me and I disagree with MB in their post, race does have a lot to do with people not rushing toward Obama, they just won’t admit it.

DesertThunder   September 17th, 2008 - 1:23 pm

As a retired veteran i can assure you Obama and the democrats do not have the vest interests of veterans or troops on their agenda.
The Democrats said the war was lost, the dems accused troops of murder, and the dems voted to cut funding for the troops. I will never support a party that intentionally pulls the rug out from under our troops. Obama has said he will cut the military, he is not in any position to be commander in chief.
Obama a decent guy, he associates with known unrepentant terrorists, and the Hate America First crowd. I have been all over the world and America is not the problem. Fanatic Islamist are!
They want us all dead and it has nothing to do with our politics.

tduck   September 17th, 2008 - 1:27 pm

… it is not about race ( only the dems. bring that up )
… I feel obama’s views are too liberal and too socialist .
… I want less government involvement .
… I don’t want any bailouts of foolist people or greedy companies .
… I would like to see our borders closed and anyone recieving welfare drug tested .
… McCain / Palin ‘08 not perfect ,but better than Obama .

qsdad   September 17th, 2008 - 1:44 pm

Nice unbiased (sarcasm off) report Andrea, you did however forget to mention that the two people responsible for Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac fiasco, now work for Obama as financial advisers……… Trying to do for America what they did for those two organizations! nice leadership Obama!

LT in Illinois   September 17th, 2008 - 2:14 pm

Leslie…

Maybe you should do your research on a different site than the official Barack Obama campaign site. You copied your text verbatim from the site.

I live in Illinois and have my whole life.

Don’t let his Illinois State or even U.S. Senate voting record fool you. It’s nice ear and eye candy, but really didn’t show hard and fast results. I can certainly attest that his voting record hasn’t lowered the crushing taxes that Illinois citizens pay. Cook County currently has the highest sales tax in the nation, and quite frankly Illinois schools are rated as some of the lowest in the nation.

Illinois ranks 49th in school funding. Over 1/3 of our schools failed to meet federal academic standards and teachers are leaving the state in droves.

Illinois is in a severe financial crisis and is suffering from probably one of the most corrupt state governments in the nation. Of which, Mr. Obama has benefitted from. (Have you heard of Tony Rezko? Probably not.)

So much for “championing ethics reform”.

Oh, but he’s created a website. That’ll help.

From the moment he was elected as a U.S. Senator here, he spent more time collecting money to run for President then actually working for the people in Illinois.

I can assure you of this…he’s done next to nothing for the tax payers in Illinois and will do next to nothing as President. All talk, little or no real sustainable action.

LT in Illinois   September 17th, 2008 - 2:55 pm

Another quick thought….

Obama HAS run smear campaigns. He’s just a little more stealth about it.

People outside of Illinois don’t even know about the story behind him winning the Senate seat.

Look up Jack Ryan…and tell me he had nothing to do with it.

Sure.

Naomi Ruth   September 17th, 2008 - 3:08 pm

It seems as though all the actors that I respect are for Obamha.Barbara has been always on the political side for the democrats who are into helping the people and not the rich few. She has brains .The repubicans just want to rape the citizens of the USA and once they are in it will be difficult to abort them. Naomi Vice

This guy is going to make the Soviet Union look attractive if he wins. People who are ignorant of their history and the history of Karl marx are going to suck it up – big time.

“How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin.” -Ronald Reagan

This sums up my opinion of political celebrities. They hear Obama’s rhetoric and think it’s great and will vote for him. Then, there are those who understand what Obama really wants, and we won’t vote for him.

Raising $$$ is the name of the game, and we all know it, including John Mccain. Sounds like SOUR GRAPES out of McCain’s mouth…

Someone above said he felt McCain is “WHORING HIMSELF TO GET ELECTED,” and brother, you can say that again!
HE WHORED HIMSELF AND ALL OF US, when he brought that Pitbull in Lipstick into the race.

Too bad for America!

Mitchell’s husband is Greenspan who messed up everything in the first place. And if the Hollywood Godless really believed in Obama why no cameras? because he could say stuff like he said in San Fran about the working class clinging to religion(which he hates and is a phony Christian) and guns…so all the Loons in Hollywood like Damon and Babs can laugh along with him.
Obama is the most unqualified person to EVER run for President! He is a Marxist…who wants to bring back Parcial Birth Abortion and have Gay marriage in every State. he and the Libs support Illega aliens because due to them 50,000,000 babies have be killed in abortion mills and someone has to work to pay taxes for their phony programs etc…That’s why he has the Left behind him.He wants Islam to win… FDR loved Stalin…and Truman was soft on Commies… but this guy will be much, much worse.
And the protest at the UN was to be Non partisan…But to Hillary that meant only Democrats could have a heart so she dumped on the protest and what it stands for because she too is a phony.
Vote McCain -Palin to save our great country and millions of unborn.

DesertThunder   September 17th, 2008 - 4:56 pm

However, I do think that this is America and that Obama has the right to attend parties wherever he likes. True, he should be hanged, or burnt out, but this is a free country. My boyfriend is ironing my KKK hood even as I write.

claspur   September 17th, 2008 - 5:02 pm

Watch Sean Hannity tonight….was listening this afternoon; He said that McCain rose a red flag in the senate in ‘05 about deregulation on houseing loans, and warned about these forth-coming collapses of this type.
He’ll probably have Mac’s written or copied proposals, I’d bet.

Obama and his ilk are really going to blow this big-time, trying to blame Bush,or any other repubs they can dream-up.
Although, I do blame Bush for the initial de-reg of Wall Street…

Neal E   September 17th, 2008 - 5:06 pm

Hey Hillary, you will not go to the protest because Palin will be there? There’s strong leadership! Also how can she say it would be a partisan event if Palin is there? If you both are there it would be a BI-PARTISAN event! Do you take us for fools?

Smart Guy   September 17th, 2008 - 6:04 pm

you’re a funny bunch – more misinformation than a week of McCain speeches and an Alaskan ethics investigation!!

What a group of morons…

don’t worry – McCain will probably win so you’ll have plenty more of the last eight years: crashing dollar, failing economy, loss of respect overseas (yeah Bush really has Putin where he wants em eh?), and rising inflation, unemployment and crime at home.

Enjoy!!!

DesertThunder   September 17th, 2008 - 6:15 pm

Dems again tuck tail and run,
The post at 4:56 is not mine and just goes to show dems and libs do not have the balls to post hate on their own they have to hijack someones name on this thread. I’ll say it again all democrats are whimps and tuck tail and run. The Democratic party does not support the troops and hate’s america. Their record is clear and anyone who supports a democrat does not support the military.
Harry (the war is lost ) Reid, John (atrocity) Kerry, Jack (the marines are murderers) Murtha, Obama (i thought about serving in the military) are all spineless whimps and do not have the best interests of the military or the USA in mind. Obama is associated with known terrorists how any true american could even consider him for president is comical. The democrats are going to lose yet again cause they hate america.

- 4th not 49th in total expenditure and 18th in school funding per student!!
- SEVENTH HIGHEST in the nation in K-12 avg public teacher salaries and

DessertThunder   September 17th, 2008 - 6:31 pm

I never met a ChickenHawk I didn’t like.
I am fully in support of
George Bush – who served his country by getting two purple hearts and a bronze medal while ENLISTING to serve in Vietnam…
oops sorry, that was Democrat John Kerry
Dick Cheney who served his country in vietnam earning the Bronze star, and rose to the rank of Supreme Commander in Europe,
OOPS sorry that’s democrat Wes Clark. Cheny had other things to do.
Karl Rove who… ooops he never wore the uniform either. But Murtha did.
Rush Limbaugh – jeez, the way he talks he musta been in Nam!!! uhhh no.

Oh well, at least I know Republicans will protect our financial institutions, make sure we Vets get the benefits & care we deserve when we get home, the best body armor and equipment to protect us while in a war zone, make sure that baks don’t screw us on mortgages and then go bankrupt with the money…
I mean they’d never send us to die for PetroDollars or lie about the reasons we are being sent to Iraq in the first place…

RIGHT???

Dave   September 17th, 2008 - 6:38 pm

Now let me tell you something about McCain:
He IS anti abortion, but his latest Ad stated he’s going to fix healthcre by going whole hog on stem cell research, but here’s the thing… STEM- CELLS COME FROM ABORTED FETUSES. Are Americans so stupid? THE answer is yes Stupid and Lazy and always willing to take the easy way out, if it sounds good at the time. IT IS EXACTLY THE REASON WHY THIS IS A SCREWED UP COUNTRY!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK YOU JERKS!!!!

DesertThunder   September 17th, 2008 - 6:41 pm

Funny didn’t think there were any conservatives left in hollywood.
Obama and Dodd stole from taxpayers through Fannie and Freddy.
Pelosi is afraid to allow drilling because she is invested in the global warming hoax. Yes it’s a hoax. Humans only account for 3% of all CO2 emissisions.
Rangel is a thief. Wake up Dems are crooks. william jefferson stole. Oh yeah and clintons boy walked out of the national archives with documents. Theif’s and traitors all.
Hillary and Biden both made up stories of sniper fire. Weak I tell you.
Biden and Obama both plagerized speeches. C’mon the dems are just wrong stop trying to defend them.
The republicans make mistakes as well, but i would want a commander and chief that at least supported the troops. Didn’t Obama try to slow the draw down in Iraq so he could look better if elected?

DesertThunder   September 17th, 2008 - 7:20 pm

John Kerry PLEASE!!! He is a traitor at Best!!! Should be shot for treason IMHO. You can support your weak democratic party that’s something i fought for your freedom to do, but please don’t you use my post name to defend your party. Gos to prove my point that liberals are to afraid to speak on their own. As far as the financial situation could it be they all screwed it up. Dems and Rep as well, McCain and Palin have shown reform in the past. What exactly has that loser Obama ever done? Go ahead defend the democrats, I for one will never support a party that pulls the funding from troops. Regardless if you agree or not with the war, pulling funding and crying defeat is subversion. I wish you luck with the party of surrender and defeat. The party that nominates a man who knowingly associates with un-apologetic terrorists.

DesertBlunder   September 17th, 2008 - 7:21 pm

I wish I knew more facts so I could post some documented support for my absurd opinions.
But then again, I am a Proud MCCAIN REPUBLICAN!!
So I can just say complete nonsense even – when it isn’t true – and will just keep repeating it even after I am told it isn’t true…
> McCain – ‘Sarah Palin is a reformer… she never took earmarks when she was Governor”
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gtx_hOhOBrAMbgsXYxQAu3f_QvBwD935EU2G0
> “the fundementals of our economy are strong”
LOL
> “she sold that plane on eBay – at a profit”
and
LIES
and MORE LIES

oh well – at least McCain would never tell us one thing and do another like Bush did!!!

PR   September 17th, 2008 - 7:24 pm

Let’s see…. McCain was at a fund raiser with G.W. Bush while Ike was tearing up Galveston… I feel some counter attack adds coming :D

DesertThunder   September 17th, 2008 - 7:27 pm

Here’s a fact for you Jimmy Carter A democrat was to weak to free hostages for 444 days, It took a republican to bring them home. He has spoken with Hamas (known terrorists) and has been proven to be an anti-semite. The Dems are weak they can not defend this country. But go ahead and defend them they will lose in Nov, because they are weak.

dirtyfromunder   September 17th, 2008 - 7:30 pm

wow you fought for our freedom – so what the heck are you doin here???

Get back to Iraq and kill some more innocent civilians, go find those WMDs we destroyed their country for and maybe you can find bin Laden while you are at it.. oh yeah, never mind that: Dubya said he doesn’t even think about him any more.

DesertThunder   September 17th, 2008 - 7:37 pm

Just goes to prove my point even more. Be-little someone who served, just like Murtha and Kerry. I’ll say it again the Dems are weak.

DesertThunder   September 17th, 2008 - 7:50 pm

I am not ashamed of my service and would do it again in a heartbeat. I am not ashamed of the USA like so many democrats are, I am proud of this country and you know what, it’s still the best place on this earth to live because we have freedom. That’s why I support the republican party because they don’t blame america for everything.

Eileen   September 17th, 2008 - 11:36 pm

All Hollywood celebrities are not all liberals…there are a few moderate and conservative ones too! But most of them stay in the closet so they can get work! But the liberals are totally egotistical elitists…of the worst kind and the Flim Flam Obamaman fits right in with them!

But President Elect McCain you made a great choice to stay with working class Americans…there are many more of us than the elite Hollywood crowd, and we will be voting for your team in November.

We know you understand us…we know you understand our problems here in the heartland…we believe you and Governor Palin are going to bring the changes and reforms we need in Washington!

For the first time in our lives my husband and I have contributed to a campaign…your campaign…we just sent in another contribution to the RNC and will give more before the election. We believe in what you will bring to the White House. We believe that you and Governor Palin will bring honor, integrity and commitment to America and we the people.

Thank you for standing up for us and serving your country, once again!

You have my vote in November, and I know without a doubt you will be the next President Elect and Vice President Elect of the United States!

Wanker Limbaugh   September 18th, 2008 - 5:31 am

John McCain is just jealous because he doesn’t have any Hollywood friends outside of Phil Gramm and Randy Schueneman. And ‘Palin foreign policy credentials’, I may be excessively on Oxycontin and the radio at the same time, but even I don’t buy that.

McCain/Palin/Bush- A drunk, a skunk and a punk.
