Somewhere there are suicide bombers that are asking “What the hell was this guy thinking?”

He Said It   September 10th, 2008 - 8:09 am

This is a great ad. I hope women all across America see this. Add to that the fact that Obama can’t even tell the line without scratching his head and a few “uhh, uhh, uhhs” to find his thought.

The more embarassing one is where Obama compares Sarah Palin to stinking fish wrapped in newspaper. This is right out of the ghetto, where the blacks talk about how their women smell where the sun don’t shine. The Obama campaign: the gift that keeps on giving.

Frank   September 10th, 2008 - 8:09 am

McCain and Palin keep lying to the American public because their basic assumption is that the American public is STUPID and easily manipulated by their outright lies. In context, Obama was clearly talking about McCain’s cynical attempt to incorporate the “Change” message into his campaign… yet another example of McCain believing the American public to be uninformed, stupid and easily manipulated. I for one am NOT stupid and am offended that they would think it would be so easy to hoodwink me!

Eagle Eye   September 10th, 2008 - 8:16 am

what do a community organizer and a pig have in common? They both SNORT to much

yomamma   September 10th, 2008 - 8:34 am

You guys are a bunch of idiots. Lipstick n a pig is not a sexist remark. It refers to objects, not people, and is most commonly used in house flipping.

Jessica   September 10th, 2008 - 9:22 am

Not mentioned: Mccain said the same pig and lipstick comment about Hilary Clinton. But that is left out…. Do you want a president that has AGREED with Bush 90% of the time? Who is happy with our president now? He has the lowest approval rating in American history! Please wake up.

Bill Chicago   September 10th, 2008 - 10:25 am

Jessica,

No, he didn’t say that about Hillary Clinton. He said that about her Health Care plan. It was clearly differentiated when he said it, which is why it didn’t get the attention you and the DailyKOS feels it should have gotten.
To make the comparison to what McCain said to this pig comment, in conjunction with the fish reference, is juvenile desperation at it’s worst.

Paster Cum-Quickly   September 10th, 2008 - 10:44 am

Bobo, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. The spelling is semen and I’ve checked her rectum, and it seems okay. I little brown stain but I like that in a man.

Neal E   September 10th, 2008 - 11:16 am

Imagine if McCain used the phrase, “Lets call a spade a spade” Their would be protests in the street. The Democrat Gov of NY is saying the use of the term “Community Organizer” is Republican code for ‘Black’. So cut the BS.

ohplease   September 10th, 2008 - 3:23 pm

he was not talking about Palin, he was talking about Bush/McCain policy. if you took a moment to watch more of the speech, rather than simply getting your info from political ads, this would be obvious.

jbh50   September 10th, 2008 - 3:43 pm

The strategy is for one campaign to get the other on its heels spending time & money defending (or retracting) from statements that are off issue but reflect a character flaw. BO/JB are perfect candidates for gaffes and JM/SP are taking full advantage of the situation.

Biden’s gaffe yesterday was priceless. Obama’s comment toward Palin was baseless and a smear to all women. Both have real flaws and the American voter is smart enough to see this…

Isn’t politics great?

mike m   September 10th, 2008 - 4:22 pm

The wheels of the Obama Express are starting to look a shaky now aren’t they libs?

That is so not true. McCain may have agreed with Bush 90% of the time over the past 8 years but he as agreed with him 100% of the time during the past year. 100% of the time!

As far as GWB’s approval rating, remember that he once had a rating of 93%. So he has lost only about 63 points, which is more than Obama will ever be able to lose.

Right now Palin has an approval rate among women of 52% and of 68% among men, nearly as high as male support for Lorna Croft.

Bill Chicago   September 10th, 2008 - 4:33 pm

jbh50-
Well stated and exactly correct. At this stage of the campaigns and until the debates, it’s akin to trench warfare. The month of September is traditionally a war of attrition, take the other guy off message and put them on the defensive. Obama’s lines are constantly in retreat, and no sooner than he digs in, he has to pull back again.

I think this ad is to test the waters, and the prelude to something that hits harder. We’ll know when the rout is starting when Obama starts pouring money into NY and PA.

Bogus Win   September 10th, 2008 - 4:34 pm

Obama will try anything to divide, not unite America. Race cards, victim cards, sexism, he’ll do it all. America divided, plus his election day shenanigans, might put him over the top. Nothing to do with issues, judgement, experience, taking a position and sticking to it with Obama…nooo. This is what we can look forward to:

Norman Hsu   September 10th, 2008 - 4:54 pm

Obama and the crowd of brain dead democrats knew darn well what he meant. And as for you, “yomamma @ 8:34AM”, stop trying to tell us what the meaning of is…is.

Bogus Win @ 4:34PM: My God. That is a real eyeopener. Why didn’t the MSM send a load of reporters in there to investigate?

carl   September 10th, 2008 - 5:41 pm

Why on Earth is Obama still obsessed with attacking Palin?? Does he forget that he is running against McCain? Obama continues to diminish himself by focusing on the bottom of the GOP ticket. And he continues to alienate moderate women voters with his personal attacks (and those of his operatives) against her.

Obama shows his childishness here, like when he flipped Hillary the finger, on tape, in an April speech. During the primaries, Obama loved sexist remarks:
“She’s got the kitchen sink flying, and the china flying, and the, you know, the buffet is coming at me.” — April 20
“You challenge the status quo and suddenly the claws come out.” — February, Tulane University
“I understand that Senator Clinton, periodically when she’s feeling down, launches attacks as a way of trying to boost her appeal.” — February

Members of his campaign (like Howard Gutman) have attacked her family, yet he fails to fulfill his pledge to fire them. Now Obama winks and nods to Liberal 527’s to attack, after condemning 527 activity months ago.

This is the “New Politics of Hope and Change??” No, just old style Chicago/Daley bare knuckles.

Bill Chicago   September 10th, 2008 - 6:18 pm

Kerwin Swint must be loving this.

2nd Edition.

Cha-Ching!

Bobo, The Real Deal   September 10th, 2008 - 6:31 pm

This dumb beech gives good head and I see progress in her eyes. But she definitely needs a rectal washout after all that bear meat she’s been gobbling. Better than seamen, you say?

Paster Cum-Quickly   September 10th, 2008 - 6:34 pm

Bobo, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. The spelling is seemen and I’ve checked her recktum, and it seems okay. I little brown stain but I like that in a man.

Pastor Profane   September 10th, 2008 - 6:39 pm

Wrecked ‘em? Damn near killed ‘em. Seriously, I think the brown stain you allude to, Paster [sic], is a serious transgression which is sufficient grounds to . . . what’s that you say . . . flatulence too? My, my. Palin is, I attest, something of a shemale, but s/he does JENKEM too? Oh no, no wonder her daughter is up the pole . . .

Latest_Made_Up_Controversy   September 10th, 2008 - 6:57 pm

Mr. Obama, you own the controversy by letting the words “Lipstick and PIG” roll off YOUR lips.

You have stooped to an all-time LOW. Your focus is now directed at a Female Vice President because you are soooo insecure about your position.

You would much better off focusing on running for president and your competitor John McCain who is also running for president, not the VP.

I would say at this point, your true academic liberal, anti-american position will see you and biden DEFEATED in november.

Thank you for demonstrating so very clearly who you really are and what you really stand for.

Yes, CHANGE is coming, you will be going home sir!

Aw, the poor baby demoRATS crying foul when their own playbook is used against them. What’s wrong, not enough fairness for your liking? You can always install the fairness doctrine when and if you EVER get the whitehouse back.

Notice how fairness doctrine even sounds like a religion? Goes well with the new age religion called Globull Warnings.

Dennis   September 10th, 2008 - 7:07 pm

That ad is pathetic. The Republicans sent her out with that stupid joke and made her say it over and over again. They also want to say that she’s “so tough” and that “she shoots guns and field dresses her own moose.”

But WAAAAA when another candidate cracks a joke. It’s pathetic, identity politics, and why I’m not voting Republican for the first time ever.

Curtis   September 10th, 2008 - 7:16 pm

We are witnessing ZERObama self-implode.

lipstick_08   September 10th, 2008 - 7:28 pm

MCCAIN \ PALIN 08

dachokie   September 10th, 2008 - 9:04 pm

obama and biden are sinking in their own words … and the debates haven’t even started … i’m sure there’ll be plenty more gaffes to come.

what’s funny is that a man who claims to be ready to lead this country against any threat, can’t even handle his opponent’s VP candidate … no wonder europe wants him elected … they’d manipulate him like silly putty.

Eileen   September 10th, 2008 - 10:02 pm

You know this Flim Flam Obamaman cannot speak properly. He sounds like a hip hop off the street guy instead of a Harvard graduate? I don’t think he has an intelligent thought in his head. Is this the kind of man we want to represent us in the world? As the leader of our country? I don’t think so!

My vote in November will go to the only viable candidate for the office, President Elect McCain and Vice President Elect Palin.

DEFINITION OF “FLIM FLAM”: DECEPTION, FRAUD, DOUBLE DEALING.

Made Up Controversy   September 10th, 2008 - 11:32 pm

So, when Palin does what she’s told and paradies herself and all career-minded hockey moms to that of pit bull dogs, that’s OK. But, when Obama retorts figuratively that a “pig is still a pig”. Well, that’s down right sexism.

Mark   September 11th, 2008 - 12:16 am

You know… You could put lipstick on Obama but he still won’t have the experience, personal strength and integrity of Sarah Palin.
