Her eldest son is in the Army at 19 and her daughter is pregnant at 17. What does this tell everyone about Mrs. Palin’s values? The choices her children make reflect those of her family. Debates can backfire. People have perceptions of candidates that may be destroyed by a debate performance and it can work in favor or against. Palin has more to lose than to gain. McCain has more to gain than to lose since the perception of him is low going into it. Palin has a good perception right now and can lose if she says too much or says the wrong thing. Debates are often moderated by media liberals who manipulate to suit themselves. Questions are going to be formulated to favor the Dem candidates as they have been in the past. Since debates are unavoidable now they can influence undecided voters by making an otherwise good candidate look bad. Palin should follow Nobama’s example and avoid personal questions that might expose something people don’t like and just stick to politics. Since national politics is mostly a personality contest McCain is not going to change much and Palin will carry the load with a good personality.

Biden/Palin debate will be either incredibily boring (if Dem cronies convince the proctors to jsut go thru motions) or incredibly lively (if the Dem cronies are rebuffed)

It’s unfortunate that McCain was weak and was forced to bow down to politics in his selection of Palin. Although she does bring in the evangelicals and a few women voters, she is clearly not ready to take on three wars and the collapses of America’s major financial institutions. McCain clearly would not last the full four years due to his old age, so Palin would almost certainly end up as president if the republicans are elected. It can be argued that she would be no worse than Bush since nobody is worse than Bush. But the ongoing and increasing number of wars, Bin Ladin still at large, the resurgence of the cold war, increasing economic problems here at home, our poor world view… We just can’t continue to run America in the ground before we finally end up destroying the country.

Every is crying for change. We certainly no longer have a balance budget, and we certainly are not moving towards bring are country to peacetime again. After the election, Bush will attack Iran and that will cause a resurgence in the Iraq war as well as drive oil prices up and availability down. We were in Vietnam for 15 years and it looks like that’s how long we will end up in Afghanistan too. America’s greatest enemy will probably finally die of old age and end the war for us.

McCain wish for 100 years of US military occupation in Iraq is probably pretty accurate the way things are going. Although things are somewhat calmer there now, the action of the next president could certainly change that for better or worse depending on how many new mistakes are made.

So America will pick some new president and some new vice president. The only good thing we know for sure is that Bush and Cheney will finally be gone.
