Polar Bears Glow Green From Algae At Japanese Zoo

AP: Three normally white polar bears at Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in central Japan changed their color in July after swimming in a pond with an overgrowth of algae.

If people are “puzzled” over this, then the state of education in Japan (or anywhere else) is in the dumper.

So, what is really going on in the world, if we need to learn about a zoo that doesn’t know how to clean a swimming pool?
Leave it to our “news sources” to call them “glowing”.

Japan only just recently started treating it’s swimming pools. Small wonder they don’t understand hygiene for any other kind of pool.

polar bears have hollow hairs that the algae can grow in. this isn’t the fist time this has happened anywhere. its a well known phenomena.
