yeah right – this woman stood up first for parents and families at the PTA. Then moved and did it on city council and then the mayor of a small town like thousands of small towns across America, and then stood up for the people of the state, making her the most popular governor in the United States today. She has a history of standing up, and a history of real change. She has a history of crossing the Aisle, taking out corruption in her own party. If you can’t see the love in this person, the love for her family and every family from every background, then you are blind. She will bring that love to ALL, both black and white, man and woman, rich and poor. I have never felt such emotion and feeling for someone ever. It was like she was a total surprise, a total miracle for our country. She is the one in control, a loveable, natural leader like no other America or the world for that matter has seen before. This is an amazing story.
Chuck Todd: Mike Murphy, lots of free advice, we’ll see if Steve Schmidt and the boys were watching. We’ll find out on your blackberry. Tonight voters will get their chance to hear from Sarah Palin and she will get the chance to show voters she’s the right woman for the job Up next, one man who’s already convinced and he’ll us why Gov. Jon Huntsman. (cut away)
Peggy Noonan: Yeah.
Mike Murphy: You know, because I come out of the blue swing state governor world: Engler, Whitman, Tommy Thompson, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush. I mean, these guys — this is how you win a Texas race, just run it up. And it’s not gonna work. And –
PN: It’s over.
MM: Still McCain can give a version of the Lieberman speech to do himself some good.
CT: I also think the Palin pick is insulting to Kay Bailey Hutchinson, too.
PN: Saw Kay this morning.
CT: Yeah, she’s never looked comfortable about this –
MM: They’re all bummed out.
CT: Yeah, I mean is she really the most qualified woman they could have turned to?
PN: The most qualified? No! I think they went for this — excuse me– political b——t about narratives –
CT: Yeah they went to a narrative.
MM: I totally agree.
PN: Every time the Republicans do that, because that’s not where they live and it’s not what they’re good at, they blow it.
MM: You know what’s really the worst thing about it? The greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and this is cynical.
CT: This is cynical, and as you called it, gimmicky.
MM: Yeah.

The thing about Sarah Palin, is that she pretends to be patriotic now- when a few years ago she was a card carrying member of the secessionist AIP party.

1. there are barely any black people in Alaska.
2. Alaska is a very conservative state. “reaching across the aisle” to palin means brokering peace between decent republicans and corrupt republicans. sorry but that just doesn’t count as bipartisan.
So Palin is getting a crash course on foreign policy from SIX Bush people!

Commander in Chief of Alaska’s Guard?? NOT REALLY!
in fact, during her tenure as governor, she hasn’t personally issued a single order to the Guard.
Associated Press has now documented personnel shortages in the state’s Guard “that make its aviation units the most poorly staffed in the nation.” The AP quotes Campbell as saying the situation “has reached a crisis level.”
Need an AnswerSeptember 4th, 2008 - 3:35 pm
How close to AIPAC, ADL and the Israeli government is Sarah Palin? Answer this honestly and you will see what strings are attached to her. McCain has already shown us by bowing down to his puppet masters as well as Obama and Biden. 75% of those runnning for presidency and the V.P. postion have let us know. We just now need to see where she stands. I bet most already know this answer but are too afraid to admit it. Sad for you.

Yeah right you are a moron. Alaska population is huge and only about 25% of the people are Eskimos.
It’s bigger than 600.000. it is nearly as big as Columbus Ohio and Jacksonville Florida for instance.
It’s MORE THAN 1/4 as big as the US prison population (2.3 million criminals behind bars and counting).
You lying demofascists make me want to puke again.

The hard left is still in the minority in this country. I think we’ll fight off the specter of Socialism once more. I feel patriotic.

Yes, in fact, Sarah Palin HAS stood up for the people of Alaska — of which I am one. Got a problem with that, you condescending windbag? Do you hate Alaskans, or something? Sneering at us, as if we don’t matter. By the way, we’re the fourth smallest state in population — not the third — and we have about 700k people, not 6. But how big does a population have to be before we ‘matter’ to you? Do you have an exact number in mind? If Palin were a typical liberal, you’d be singing the praises of Alaska. And if a conservative tried to belittle an entire populace the way YOU just did, you’d be all enraged, and probably calling for their resignation. You condescending hypocrite.

Bad Media! Bad!September 4th, 2008 - 9:12 pm
from Politico’s Roger Simon:
“Why the media should apologize”
Sarah Palin gave a really good speech. Why go beyond that, asks Simon.
Photo: AP
ST. PAUL, Minn. — On behalf of the media, I would like to say we are sorry.
On behalf of the elite media, I would like to say we are very sorry.
We have asked questions this week that we should never have asked.
We have asked pathetic questions like: Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?
We have asked mean questions like: How well did John McCain know her before he selected her? How well did his campaign vet her? And was she his first choice?
Bad questions. Bad media. Bad.
It is not our job to ask questions. Or it shouldn’t be. To hear from the pols at the Republican National Convention this week, our job is to endorse and support the decisions of the pols.
Sarah Palin hit the nail on the head Wednesday night (and several in the audience wish she had hit some reporters on the head instead) when she said: “I’m not a member of the permanent political establishment. And I’ve learned quickly, these past few days, that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone.â€
But where did we go wrong with Sarah Palin? Let me count the ways:
First, we should have stuck to the warm, human interest stuff like how she likes mooseburgers and hit an important free throw at her high school basketball tournament even though she had a stress fracture.
Second, we should have stuck to the press release stuff like how she opposed the Bridge to Nowhere (after she supported it).
Third, we should never have strayed into the other stuff. Like when The Washington Post recently wrote: “Palin is under investigation by a bipartisan state legislative body. … Palin had promised to cooperate with the legislative inquiry, but this week she hired a lawyer to fight to move the case to the jurisdiction of the state personnel board, which Palin appoints.â€
Why go there? What trees does that plant?
Fourth, we should stop making with all the questions already. She gave a really good speech. And why go beyond that? As we all know, speeches cannot be written by others and rehearsed for days. They are true windows to the soul.
Unless they are delivered by Barack Obama, that is. In which case, as Palin said Wednesday, speeches are just a “cloud of rhetoric.â€
Fifth, we should stop reporting on the families of the candidates. Unless the candidates want us to.
Sarah Palin wanted the media to report on her teenage son, Track, who enlisted in the Army on Sept. 11, 2007, and soon will deploy to Iraq.
Sarah Palin did not want the media to report on her teenage daughter, Bristol, who is pregnant and unmarried.
Sarah Palin thinks that one is good for her campaign and one is not, and that the media should report only on what is good for her campaign. That is our job, and that is our duty. If that is not actually in the Constitution, it should be. (And someday may be.)
The official theme of the convention’s third day was “prosperity,†but the unofficial theme was “the media are really, really awful.â€
Even Mike Huckabee, who campaigned for president this year by saying “I am a conservative, but I am not mad at anybody,†discovered Wednesday night that he is mad at somebody.
“I’d like to thank the elite media for doing something,†Huckabee said, “that, quite frankly, I didn’t think could be done: unify the Republican party and all of America in support of John McCain and Sarah Palin.â€
And could that be the real point of the attacks on the media? To unify the Republican Party?
No, that is simply the cynical, media view.
Though as Lily Tomlin says, “No matter how cynical I get, it’s just never enough to keep up.â€
I couldn’t resist that. For which I am sorry.
InsiderSeptember 4th, 2008 - 9:43 pm
Rachel Maddow = Dishonest, biased, self-deceived.
No wonder she’s on msnbc, alongside Herr Olbermann; the storm trooper of the Left.
Sarah Palen is the most impressive politician to come on the scene since Clinton, the main difference being that she has a moral compass.
This Republican team will win in a landslide. Then, the bleating from the Left will be all about America’s racism. Liberals are simple and predictable.
steveSeptember 4th, 2008 - 10:02 pm
The thing about Sarah Palin, is she stands up for people. I can see her going into the the ghettos of the big cities and meeting with leaders there and bringing total grass roots reform. This woman has the love of millions and millions in her heart and you can see it over and over again.
TexasAggie2002September 4th, 2008 - 10:31 pm
Are you Republicans stupid? This woman MAYBE could run a Taco Bell and even then I wouldnt trust her to do it right. She is a puppet, plain and simple.
Things are much different in Alaska than they are in the real world US.
If you vote for Sarah Palin and old man McCain, then you are an idiot. They have nothing to offer US but more War, more economic disparity, more high gas prices, and more failed Washington policies, regardless what their speeches say or they tell you.
See the writing on the wall folks! Wake up to the 21st century!

Alaska has more folks then a meager population with tourism high and contractors working around the clock to provide our country with resources. Only those who have been to Alaska can truly understand. I recommend living there to see how tough and resilent the AK folks are… It is no little state as you might think… and a lot more then Obama has managed.
Gov. Sarah Palin is a tough executive who has demonstrated during her time in office that she is ready to be president. She has brought Republicans and Democrats together within her Administration and has a record of delivering on the change and reform that we need in Washington. In addition, it is her record of reform and bipartisanship and shaking up the status quo is the change we needed in Washington, DC today.
YEPSeptember 4th, 2008 - 10:55 pm
Oh, she’s plucky, all right! She would be great on Saturday Night Live or MAD-TV.
She WANTS the media to zero in on her son Trak, the would-be future war hero in her brood, but she wants them to leave alone the pregnant unmarried daughter that SHE HERSELF “outed” and threw into the public limelight. (One has to ask WHY she did this, and why now? Was it to distract from OTHER rumors flying around?)
YEP, she is very plucky. Not sure we need a pit bull in lipstick in the White House, though.

Ages of ConsentSeptember 5th, 2008 - 5:03 pm
Wow (see link below), there are MANY states that have age 16 as age of consent; some even younger! Outrageous!
If US wants to cut down on teen pregnancies, why don’t they RAISE the AGE OF CONSENT and JAIL the aholes who are dallying with these young kids?????

Hate? No. But any place that considers SIXTEEN years old to be the AGE OF CONSENT is full of freakin’ IDIOTS! Wasn’t that the reason they invaded that Polygamous colony out West recently, because young teens were being married off to old geezers, and most of our country was appalled?!
Maybe the McCain gang should have had Chuck Berry singing SWEET LITTLE SIXTEEN at the Convention!!!!
steve-
please let us know – the nation is curious – WHAT people has she stood up for?
The people of Alaska? The 3rd SMALLEST state of the Union, with about 600K people?
