daisymae,
Wow! Talk about racism…maybe Chris SHOULD lecture you. “Half of Nobama’s supporters are women who have illegitimate babies and 90% of his black supporters have illegitimate babies”? I was just wondering…do you have any statistics to back up this statement or is it just what you believe?

Also what’s with the, “empty suit muslim (actually you should capitalize Muslim) and his monkeyface wife” crack? Your bigotry is showing, madam. But then again you ARE a right wing conservative…

Be sure to put on your shoes when you go to vote.

At least she is a MILF   September 2nd, 2008 - 11:53 am

Oh, and Bill…that is what is known as sarcasm. The insult is that John wants to appeal to Hilary supporters, picks a woman who has absolutely NO credentials, has extremist political views, and expects women to line up anyway. The only thing that she brings to the table is that she is a woman. Talk about cynical.

esquared   September 2nd, 2008 - 3:09 pm

Estrich is a crank, chosen by Fox for this interview exactly because she has publicly decried her dissatisfaction at not having her candidate at the top of the ticket. She’s sighting outrageous blogs (sort of like Mr. Brietbart’s) which do not in any way reflect the current intentions of the Democratic party, anywhere in the country. She’s pulling numbers out of her head that are utterly conradicted by legitimate polls. She speaks neither for the party at large, or as a representative of any portion of the party. Estrich consulted the 2 or 3 friends she has left and came up with this. McCain/Palin is like watching a slow motion train wreck. Both of them are demonstrating a lack of the kind of judgment we need in the White House. And that the RNC thinks her status as a woman would have any meaning or sway with former HRC voters is evidence of how little think of you and I. If Palin were a man, the RNC wouldn’t give her the time of day.

Brenda   September 2nd, 2008 - 3:34 pm

daisymae is right – I am surprised she said it so nicely. Why would any woman pick a black over a woman? Will blacks pick a white man or woman over a black – no. I would think they all would vote for the woman. After all there is no black run place ON EARTH that is worth a S#$t – never has been – never will be.

Chris-n-San Jose   September 2nd, 2008 - 3:43 pm

AMG,

The good will not erase the horrible truth of our past. A past that we must never try to erase. You should be correcting all of the folks down grading blacks for no apparent reason. This is our chance to right a wrong that has been done to African Americans. Do not justify their foolishness by trying to say that it happens all over the world. Nothing can or will ever compare to the way blacks where treated.

This does answer one question I asked. How does degrading African Americans make racist feel superior? It does not. Whites are gulity of horrible atrocities. This is why no race can down grade another. Sin is not about Skin color. Stop the hate.

Gregory Scott,

Do you feel that Karl Rove and some Republicans are behaving in the same manner you accuse so called “libs” of?”

Again with Karl Rove?!?! A bit obsessed hey?

Gregory Scott   September 2nd, 2008 - 4:16 pm

Chris,

I think you suffer from Rove Obsessive Disorder.

Don’t take my words to mean that Republicans are all saintly, holy men who never do anything I disagree with. That’s a silly way to take things. The reaction from the left speaks for itself. It is very loud and impossible to ignore. Clearly visible in all forms of media right now, and all across the internet in forums everywhere. It will turn people off, as fanatical leftist anger always does. And this time it is not directed at The Evil President Bush— the usual heinous villain— but at a mother of five, who happens to also be attractive. It is stirring sympathy in the hearts of those that do not agree with her, but who are uncomfortable being associated with all the bitter critics of her.

The loud outcry, the mockery— it’s coming from the left. Obama was not subjected to this sort of treatment, believe it or not— not from the mainstream media. There were no high-profile attacks like there are against Palin. You can’t call bringing up Obama’s past associates an ‘attack’— it is a legitimate question. And he has not been smeared this way— the media has protected him. But now, now that Obama’s camp is tying Palin to the “Nazi-Sympathizer” Pat Buchanan… Well, all bets are off. I think Reverend Wright, Father Pfleger, and Bill Ayers are fair game now.

Maybe this whole election was orchestrated by Rove in his secret laboratory deep in the mountains…

Chris-n-San Jose   September 2nd, 2008 - 4:18 pm

Ham,

Your comments imply that Greogory Scott is obsessed with “lib” comments. That is something that you need to ask Gregory Scott. I just keep it real. My point is that most people are biased in their judgement. This is to be avoided in light of the truth. The truth is Greogory Scott feels that it is okay for Republicans but not Democrats. I say that it is wrong for both sides to belittle each other. Therefore, I love truth.

BlackGirlSpeaks   September 2nd, 2008 - 6:03 pm

I’m shocked that she is actually having this baby because STUPID, DRUNK, SHOW MY BOOBS, GIRLS GONE WILD, SLEEP AROUND White chicks usually have multiple ABORTIONS during their tween, teen and college years. Then they have this look of shock when they get married and can’t have babies the NATURAL way because they’ve abused their UTERUS. To cover it up they lie to their husbands that they don’t know why they either can’t concieve or their WOMB can’t carry the baby to term and they miscarry. Say what you want but at least black women have their babies and not KILL them and lie to their husbands! Hey MILF how many abortions have you had????

There is some truth in what “blackgirl” said up above. But I would have to point out that the white girls she is talking about are all liberals. I speak from experience. And it isn’t as if there are that many black girls who are opposed to abortion.

Bill Chicago   September 2nd, 2008 - 6:35 pm

All you Obama guys pretending to be women.
Save it for Ramrod’s on a Saturday night.

When my Democratic, lefty, sob-sister girlfriend who could be a ’30’s Fabian Society reincarnate says she is voting McCain, 30% might be low-balling it.

CHris-n-San Jose   September 2nd, 2008 - 6:44 pm

Who are these people mad with? They have no idea who they are angry with or why. Obama has nothing to do with the sexism the media portrays. Obama is not directing the camera to the legs of Palin on her TV interviews. People are sick to believe something that is not true. When people are angry with Obama for something that he did not do leads me to believe that racism is more an issue this election than sexism. She has nothing to say about African Americans voting for Obama because they have voted 90% for white democrats every election.

At least she is a MILF   September 2nd, 2008 - 7:02 pm

If these women vote for McCain because he picked some dopey woman and ignore what she stands for, they deserve what they get. This woman is the antithesis of everything the woman’s movement is about.

daisymae   September 2nd, 2008 - 7:07 pm

Hey Chris-n-San Jose, go drink your cool aid and don’t lecture us about racism. What about the democrap sexism? Half of Nobama’s supporters are women who have illegitimate babies and 90% of his black supporters have illegitimate babies and a large part of the rest of them have murdered their babies by abortion. They are all welcomed and celebrated but if the daughter of a republican gets pregnant and choses to have her baby, she’s crucified. First of all, this girl is not running for anything. She is none of your nor the lib media stumping for the empty suit’s, business.

If this empty suit muslim and his monkeyface wife had anything going for them, you and the lib media wouldn’t have to use a 17 year old girl to try to bring McCain/Palin down. I say keep it up and it will bite NOBAMA in the end.

Bill Chicago   September 2nd, 2008 - 7:13 pm

You’ve got the nick At Least She is a MILF, and you’re commenting on sexism? Wow. I’d hate to have that nerve in a tooth.

Chris-n-San Jose   September 2nd, 2008 - 7:23 pm

daisymae you obviously hate African Americans. Why? Do you feel that you are better than they are? Are you holier?

Who are you angry with? It appears by your comments that you are taking things to a different level just to express your views about African Americans. Nobody on here has spoken about Palins pregnant daughter.

I am more than happy to listen to you but you need to stop down grading other human beings to make yourself feel superior.

carl   September 2nd, 2008 - 8:21 pm

The underachieving community activist Obama struggles to compare himself with the first term governor of Alaska. Yes, let’s compare the Top of the Dem ticket with the No. 2 for the GOP. Obama FAILS in that comparison, too. Palin has impressive accomplishments for her short time in office: reform, challenging the corrupt leadership of her own party, cutting taxes, reducing wasteful spending.

Obama has a mountain of “Present” votes to show for his time in the IL state senate–and has done nothing but run for President since he entered the US Senate. He does however take credit for a toothless ethics reform bill which was sponsored by 70 or 80 other Senators, and on which he did not actively work. He did nothing to rock the boat of the corrupt Daley machine in Chicago. What “Change” has he ever accomplished??

He insists that the mere act of running for President, and cleverly cheating Hillary out of the nomination by winning more caucuses—despite losing the popular vote—qualifies him to BE President.

Obama loves the future, because that is where all of his accomplishments are.

AMG   September 2nd, 2008 - 8:37 pm

“This woman is the antithesis of everything the woman’s movement is about.”

I find this statement thoroughly motivated by partisanship. If she were a liberal and/or demorcat you would hold her and her story in high esteem. Since she’s a conservative republican, she’s not a real woman.

The woman’s movement is about women becoming successul and powerful on their own merits. It has nothing to do with politics. She’s a great example of the women’s movement. She was a mayor (beat an incumbent) and a governor (beat out an incumbent in her own party).

I guess she doesn’t have the experience that you want in a female candidate. A true woman, like Hillary, makes her way into the world by being married to a former governor/president and rides his coattails to a senate seat. If anything, Hillary is the antithesis of the women’s movement. Let’s her husband run around on her and protects him when he gets caught. But I guess if your pro-abortion that’s all you need to make you a real woman.

P.S. Being married to someone doesn’t give you any experience. If that were true, Courtney Love would be a rock goddess.

Bill Chicago   September 2nd, 2008 - 8:54 pm

As tasteful and well thought out sarcasm as any of your other posts, MILF.

Palin has more experience in governing than Obama has, and she is on the second tier of the ticket. Your argument is apparently because she is a woman, she has no substance, and was only chosen because she was female. That her %80 approval rating in her home state shows what? That she has nice legs?

No two offices in this country directly effect peoples lives like being a Mayor and a Governor. She has shown that she is a woman of strong convictions, and has fought corruption even within her own party. But all that is discounted in your eyes because she is sans prostate?

Nice, reasoned argument.

Eileen   September 2nd, 2008 - 8:58 pm

Methinks it will probably be more than that. Afterall, let’s remember the Limbaugh Chaos program – many of those votes were those kinds of votes – we don’t know how many. I don’t really anticipate that they will get many Democratic women votes due to differences in right to life – so the votes that she only got to create chaos – may be significant to make a real difference.

Black illegitimacy rate currently stands at 68%. It has declined from a high of 70% in 1994. Daisymae exaggerated the numbers some but for the most part she’s spot on accurate. http://www.isteve.com/2003_Black_Illegitimacy_Rate_Declines.htm

Gringo,

I have figured out why you and daisymae have brought up a pointless point in your post that no one else is talking about. Both of you have made this into a racial thing and you feel ashamed and embarrassed about learning of Palins daughters illegitimate preganacy. In your mind you envision black folks laughing at white folks about this.

NEWFLASH!! African Americans are not pointing fingers at anyone. This is a product of your imagination. You point fingers at them and feel that because you do it they will do it in return. African Americans are just trying to survive hard financial times and earn a living. They are not concerned about your sins or my sins.

Linda   September 2nd, 2008 - 10:59 pm

Susan’s right…I haven’t met one person other than on the blogs who is willing to vote for Obama. They consider him dangerous and after I discuss with them the rampant caucus fraud the Obama goons committed…THEY ARE DONE… stick a fork in them.

You know, when around 9 million people (the ones who actually are fully aware of the Obama campaign tactics to garner a 127 delegate lead) let people know about
1) Obama’s caucus fraud
2) The DNCs (Howard Dean, Pelosi, Brazile and their minions) heavy hand on the scale of fairness
3) Obama’s COMPLETE lack of relevant experience
4) Obama’s personal gain via slum lords and a whole host of shady characters

that 9 million turns into 18 million that turns into more…

Obama is going to lose in a landslide because long time democratic activists are telling the truth about this candidate. The TRUTH the MSM refuses to tell.

Slavery, be it for work or sex, is still a problem in every country of the world and is practiced by every race in the world. Whites, Blacks, Men, Women, to this day, still trade slaves. There was a great article in Nat Geo not too long ago about this terrible problem.

I don’t understand people who think that the USA invented slavery and that only the USA had slaves. If anything, the USA should get credit for, in less than 100 years, abolishing the practice. Of course there was trials and tribulations, but here we are now with a half- black american one step away from the White House. USA: Gotta love it!

Gregory Scott   September 2nd, 2008 - 11:28 pm

This is the best election in history. Sexism versus racism! Fear versus anger! Where is all the hope, though? Where is this great, healing union of the people? Is it on the horizon? Or is another Civil War on the horizon?

I just hope the liberals keep it up. I know they can’t keep a lid on it— they have to lash out verbally, and say nasty things about this mother of five. And each time they do that, especially in the media, sympathy grows for Palin, as well it should.

Regular people don’t wish to cast the same votes as you hate-fueled leftists. You rant on about how bad racists and rednecks are, and then act just as bad or worse and totally can’t see it. I call this funny.

Make a public disgrace of yourselves so they can win the election! Show us how much you despise the right’s ironic VP candidate! Remember— if she wins, she’s going to take away your ‘right’ to abort all your children. Let this thought drive you crazy, drive you into paroxysms of uncontrollable rage. Then please come out and say what you think in public forums. Do this twice a day. Thank you.

Sarah Palin, Dominionist   September 2nd, 2008 - 11:56 pm

You forgot to list “Dominionist” among Sarah Palin’s many attributes!

Also, here’s some interesting stuff, quoted from a webpage:

“The New York Post runs a story where Palin’s daughter’s husband-to-be writes in his MySpace page:

“I’m a f – - -in’ redneck” who likes to snowboard and ride dirt bikes.

“But I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some s- – - and just f – - -in’ chillin’ I guess.”

“Ya f – - – with me I’ll kick [your] a–,” he added.

He also claims to be “in a relationship,” but states, “I don’t want kids.”

…the [Palin] family statement tells us that the kids are being pushed into a shotgun marriage. This is being done to appease the religious conservatives who are more concerned about people having sex outside of marriage than with forming families with the maturity and skill-set to raise healthy children. For them, as long as a father and mother are under a roof, it is a family. Appearance over substance.”

Gregory Scott   September 3rd, 2008 - 12:29 am

Chris,

No doubt racism is at play in regards to Obama. We see it on these boards. But it is not just one-sided, as black people are almost unanimously going to vote for Obama. I would almost bet that more black people will be voting for Barack based on race than will whites be voting against him based solely on race.

The reason that many attack him and fear what he might do has much more to do with his politics, his agenda, and his sketchy past. I am very familiar with his political ideals— and they are based in Liberation Theology, which is Marxism covered in the veil of pseudo-religious thought. Liberation Theology was the model for the Black Liberation Theology, Womanism, etc. They are all linked in not-so-vague ways. They are all basically the same ideas, but with a focus on different groups of people. Barack’s politics are based on this— this is the thinking that has surrounded him his WHOLE LIFE, not just at Trinity church. And, like it or not, believe it or not, this Liberation Theology is not American. It is anti-American. It goes against the tenants that this country was founded on. Barack thinks it does not, he is an American and can see things no other way, considering his far-left upbringing and his habit of surrounding himself with similar minds to his own. He cannot see the contradiction between what America was created to be and what he thinks it should become. And this is a threat to the American way of life, should he become president.

If Barack where white and running against a black McCain, the same people would still fear Barack. There would be some shifting, as many blacks would switch parties and racist whites would a little, too.

Marxism does not cure poverty and remedy social ills. How many Marxist experiments must be tried before people realize this fully? The problem is that Marxism is the only thing the Secular Rationalists can come up with in terms of a political morality.

Chris-n-San Jose   September 3rd, 2008 - 1:06 am

Gregory Scott,

African Americans are not doing anything different this election than they did in previous elections. African Americans have voted for white democrats by 90% margins over the years. I doubt that this can be classified as racist. African Americans did not even support Jessie Jackson like that.

What are your fears about Liberation Theology? I have studied a little bit of both-Liberation and Black Liberation Theology. Black Liberation Theology statred with James Cone. The purpose was to address the true nature of God compared to the white supremist view of God towards blacks. James Cone stated that Christianity and God do not have meaning if Christ teachings do not have anything to say to blacks suffering in poverty on a daily basis. He spoke against the falsehood and false assumptions of God that white supremist told blacks. They told blacks that they where cursed, which is a lie. This is the basis of Black Liberation Theology.

Liberation Theology, Feminism, etc are cries of freedom to those who are oppressed. They should look to each others cause and fight together against the domination system.

Good guess, and possible but probably not right. I work with teens. It can mean either to just have a conversation about nothing in particular, just for the sake of talking, usually as a way of bonding. Normally, “shoot the s**t”,” a version of “bulls**t.”

“Shoot some s**t” DOES also mean to shoot up, to inject drugs. But I don’t think the kid meant it this way, not on a public webpage. He meant yakking, as above.
