tony uppitty   August 30th, 2008 - 2:39 am

Wait until the debates. Biden won’t tear Gov.Palin a new one unless she attempts to show off and/or get snippy with him. Even then he’ll have the sense to smack her down without malice and behave professorially with her. She won’t have Hillary’s linguistic skills, that’s for sure. She has no idea what type party she’s just been invited to.

To Gregory Scott   August 30th, 2008 - 3:11 am

You said, “We can see from the posts on Breitbart that liberals are stirred up into vehement rages like never before…”

You moron! It has nothing to do with “LIBERALS”–It has to do with moral indignation that this woman considers herself a Poster Child (pardon the expression) for the “RIGHT TO LIFE” movement and she wants to STOP other women from having a sayso about their own most private, life-changing decisions. You do NOT have to be a “liberal” to resent such arrogance & hypocrisy.

BamBam   August 30th, 2008 - 3:46 am

Hey Uppity…have you seen Biden’s ratings…he make Bush look like Reagan…so get a grip!!!

Dracula   August 30th, 2008 - 4:35 am

I Liked to watch MSNBC back when they had some objectivity but they lost credibility when Olbermann joined the network.Since then, anyone who was not far left is gone. Now Rachel Madddow, Air America, has a show. Draw your own conclusions. MSNBC wants to be the network of the far left loons, objective people need not apply.

stupid clowns fox   August 30th, 2008 - 4:36 am

Coming from foxnews, that’s ironic and funny at the same time.

super block   August 30th, 2008 - 4:40 am

Does McBush think his ticket doesn’t resemble Bush enough that he ends up picking a far ring wing evangelical nut, pro creationism in schools promoter, and anti-women shill?

lou dobbs fan   August 30th, 2008 - 6:42 am

Oreily is “really” upset that Keith is putting the wood his arse. Oreily is a blowhard.

Bill Chicago   August 30th, 2008 - 7:11 am

I’m not sure how many houses she owns (putting aside the real issue of MSNBC’s blatant bias,) but the question should be, how many houses you own that were bought with the help of a convicted thief and slumlord through your influence peddling to get him taxpayer dollars by the misuse of your office. I’m sure the answer will be none.
Ask Obama the same question.

Vet Dad   August 30th, 2008 - 7:13 am

See how shallow and simple minded the neo cons are? They attack Michele Obama as being a racists. They attack Obama as being out of touch. They twist their words and play them over and over again in Fixed News. John McCain can’t remember how may houses he owns.
MSNBC I commend you for being right on! Conitnue to remind the American people McCain is out of touch.
So how many homes are added to the GOP picket? Can she remember?
Awesome to see the far right being eaten up inside by getting a dose of their own medicine!

kpnunn   August 30th, 2008 - 7:39 am

liberals remind me of cockroaches…they meet in dark places in the middle of the night but scurry into filthy little hiding spots when a light comes on. It’s a lemming group mentality. None of them could EVER, EVER take on the truth individually so they form a global mob to silence the truth by making the good folks look like freaks. The tide WILL turn and the left-wing media will answer for their crimes!

RJB (Joe)   August 30th, 2008 - 7:42 am

As a LP.Org person, O’Reilly should have said, This is just like the racist and sexist liberal Democrats to attack a strong Woman.

Demuntilnow   August 30th, 2008 - 8:14 am

I WAS VOTING FOR OBAMA – BUT McCANE HAS TRULY PICK A WASHINGTON OUTSIDER… I’LL GO CROSS PARTY LINES AND VOTE REP. NOW!!!

MASTERFUL CHOICE! THEFACT THAT SHE’S FROM OUT OF THE LOOP IS AN “A+”

Bill Chicago   August 30th, 2008 - 8:45 am

One.
The White House.

Dwight   August 30th, 2008 - 9:06 am

What a pathetic set of comments. There’s only one issue here, which 90% of you miss: MSCNBC is supposed to be a NEWS NETWORK. Adding a totally gratuitous and grossly biased comment to a breaking news announcement is just incredible. They don’t have any more journalistic integrity than Pravda did in the old days.

dean   August 30th, 2008 - 9:12 am

That banner was a cheap shot and coming under a breaking news banner it more than revealing of MSNBC’s lack of objectivity.

The good news is that MSNBCs market share is small and shrinking steadily. For example, FOX beat MSNBC’s ratings for the DNC convention!!!

Pete   August 30th, 2008 - 9:16 am

I guess thats why nobody watches them but very left leaning peeps. I’m sure there ratings reflect that as well, last place.

anon   August 30th, 2008 - 9:17 am

The term is “kiss butt.” MSNBC kisses Dems’ butts.

Tubby   August 30th, 2008 - 9:20 am

Bill Chicago, bingo.

Anyone that is not a total idiot already knows the alphabet news networks are leftwing clearing houses spewing democratic talking points…it’s been that way for atleast 30 years.

Funny how the libtards consider FOX to be such a threat.

Barney   August 30th, 2008 - 9:35 am

Burb!!! o’ whatever is just mouthing off… Move on…

Gregory Scott   August 30th, 2008 - 10:12 am

The liberal media will be doing this every day until the election, I guarantee you. They despise this woman. They deplore her and wish to destroy her. They need a moment to regroup, but they’ll be working harder than ever to try to mar her image. And, in working so hard for this agenda, I believe they might finally become transparent to the masses, who will see through the show and vote for yet another Republican.

So let the media do its best to reveal its obvious bias in the run-up to this election; it will serve us well. We can see from the posts on Breitbart that liberals are stirred up into vehement rages like never before. Even Michael Moore couldn’t get the bunch of immature dolts as agitated as McCain’s announcement of his VP has. This hatred is shared by those liberals who work in the media, especially considering they were clueless and have been shown up, and additionally because their pet project has been overshadowed.

They will expose themselves on TV, it is almost inevitable.

Gregory Scott   August 30th, 2008 - 10:15 am

And I mean that they will expose themselves on TV in a more obvious way to the average Joe than they do every night. It will be harder to suspend disbelief, and beyond that, I think the average American is going to be plain sick of hearing the name “Barack Obama”.

Now to set about working on my Breitbart addiction… I must separate myself from the news somehow. Maybe after the election I’ll quit and spare you all my screeds.

tony uppitty   August 30th, 2008 - 10:38 am

Intersting how a comment can appear before the actual time arrives on this web discussion, Someone attempting to manipulate what is seen by the visitors here?

Bill Chicago   August 30th, 2008 - 10:52 am

What is truly disturbing here is the lie of “balance” in reporting. The president of MSNBC claims it has no agenda. This is obviously not true. If they will lie about their objectivity, what else will they lie about? Why don’t they just come out and call themselves The Obama News Channel, accept the brand and move on. Just quit calling yourself objective, when you are clearly not. You would think after that humiliating exchange between Joe Scarborough and his co-workers, MSNBC would have learned something. Apparently, they haven’t.

McCain's NUTS   August 30th, 2008 - 10:52 am

‘I’m Almost Sick’!

Hey, Bill, you are not the only one ALMOST SICK–but for different reasons.

It is pretty SICKENING (and SICK) that McLame would pick somebody who’s unknown & inexperienced to be a heartbeat away from his Presidency.

He must be out of his mind.

Vet Dad   August 30th, 2008 - 10:54 am

I can see it now:
Mr.Bill, “Ooooohhh nooo the Slugo network asked how many houses the Alaskan governor adds to the Republican Ticket.”
Mr. Hand: “Mr. Bill, geee wizzz, don’t get into a fuss over this. All those viewers who believe we shoould all live like June and Ward Cleaver, they will vote McCain.”
Mr. Bill, “But oooooohhhhh, the Slugo network is slandering my party…oooooohhh we’re in trouble!”
Mr.Hand, “Here Mr. Bill, take the phone and call her up…that sort of talk will get rid of your pent up tension.”
Mr. Bill, (Arm quishes flat from phone), “Oooooohh noooooo!!!”

FIX THE DA*N CLOCK, PLEASE   August 30th, 2008 - 10:57 am

“Intersting how a comment can appear before the actual time arrives on this web discussion, Someone attempting to manipulate what is seen by the visitors here?”

Apparently Breitbart and/or WordPress cannot figure out how to make a CLOCK work, so the postings are just being slapped into any random order, which is totally confusing & annoying, but no amount of complaining seems to be eliciting a response from anybody. If Breitbart wants to be in the “publishing” business, they really ought to take some steps to FIX the problems on this site, and the same goes for WordPress.

demdicks   August 30th, 2008 - 10:57 am

The Great Rush Limbaugh said it best; in their attempt to destroy her, they will end up destroying themselves. Brilliant. Freaks like Vivian will have their heads exploding as they are once again outsmarted by Republicans, olberboob and msnbc are just speeding up the process.

Rob H.   August 30th, 2008 - 11:09 am

I’ve never seen a network self-destruct like MSNBC is. Even Brokaw is aghast, he being no conservative. I long for the day that McCain wins and all of this sacrifice on the altar of partisanship, this willingness to abandon all pretext of impartiality, destroys MSNBC and NBC as a news organization.

Welcome to the ranks of the political operative, MSNBC. You’ve out-FOXed Fox.

Blah Blah   August 30th, 2008 - 11:56 am

I do NOT understand this guys issue. If that happened on FOX news and it was about Obama he would not say anything. What a joke.

GlobalObserver   August 30th, 2008 - 12:25 pm

Apologies for misspelling the great “Cronkite’s” name!

Dana   August 30th, 2008 - 12:40 pm

As far as Governor Palin goes I’m sure that she is a fine person and has done a lot of good for Alaska. We have to wait and see what she brings to the table. This will be a demonstration of McCain’s judgement. I’m anxious to get a better feel what is behind this decision. Politics or trying to find the best person for the job.

Vet Dad   August 30th, 2008 - 1:00 pm

Bill, you never did answer MSNBC’s question. So how many houses does the Alaskan governor add to the ticket?
It’s completely and totally awesome to watch you go over the edge of insanity into deep looneyland because it is eating you up your party will be destroyed this November 4th in the poles.
Can you do a news piece on the young lady who settled a law suite with you a few years ago? That may take some of the sting out of MSNBC’s evil wicked banner from Satan’s party. LOL!
Hey, I’m a father of two Iraq war vets. Send your little minnie me to my house with your camera man. We can talk.

Jodi   August 30th, 2008 - 1:12 pm

my prediction MSNBC will cease to exist before next Presidential election cycle. Everyone should be outraged on both sides of the aisle. This is not entertainment news or spoof news this is supposed to be NEWS and when breaking news happens they should be objective and responsible. I am glad though the liberal media is already attacking Gov Palin i guess they didnt learn anything from attacking Sen Clinton. Thankfully we will have at least 4 more yrs of Sanity in the White House and not a left wing liberal and his sidekick the #1 and # 3 liberals in the Senate

Jodi   August 30th, 2008 - 1:21 pm

Dana

Sara Palin’s name has been in the mix for months with the campaign. Even Newt Gingrich said back in April if Mccain was smart he would pick Gov Palin. Scott Rasmussen from Rasmussen reports also made the comment months back if Mccain was smart he would pick Gov Palin. Bill Krstyal of the Weekly Standard has been talking about her for months and even writing articles about her. In the conservative circles Gov Palin is well known for her Social and Fiscal ideals. How she has cleaned up corruption and actually follows the rule of law layed out in the constitution.
Read up on her and you will she is very very qualified. And this in my opinion was not a knee jerk response to the Left not putting Sen Clinton on it.
I am excited for the election.

El Capitan   August 30th, 2008 - 1:23 pm

I give MSNBC 1 more year before it’s reformed again. Kiss your advertisers goodbye.

As for all the FOX haters, get used to it. It is the highest rated cable news network in the country and will attract the advertising dollars it needs to survive for many more years to come.

BTW, all of you complaining that Palin is not experienced enough need to get out of the Twilight Zone and take a look at your own candidate. You look like freaking idiots and hypocrites trying to turn the argument back at republicans. There is no comparison between Palin’s experience and Obama. There is one HUGE difference though….

OBAMA is the one running for president.

Bill Chicago   August 30th, 2008 - 1:34 pm

The Obamatrons know it’s over for Obama. All that’s left for them is to throw baggies of urine and scream how it isn’t fair, that life cheated them again somehow. Then they will make up a lie to console themselves that the majority of America didn’t rejected them again, some evil force was at work. That’s why they are still fighting the 2000 election. “The Evil Supreme Court stole it from us!”. No, the Supreme Court said you can have a recount, but you have to recount all the Florida, not just the Democratic strongholds. Three major news organizations went down there determined to prove Gore won, and came away saying Bush won.
2004 was Ohio. The argument? Kerry was ahead in the polls but still lost the state. “It must be those evil electronic voting machines (that they demanded,) rigged the vote!”. They had no evidence, and Kerry lost in districts where he was way ahead in the polls, and they were still using traditional voting methods.

Well, I’m going to give them a Conspiracy Theory head start on the source of this pending crushing defeat. Nixon.

Yes, Richard M. Nixon, late former President of the United States. Rejected by both Heaven and Hell, his spirit walks the land, reeking havoc on an unsuspecting Democratic Party. It was the ghost of Richard Nixon that whispered into Pelosi’s ear “Obama. Obama. You’ll still be the most power female in the land if Obama defeats Clinton”. Pelosi replied “Obama!” And he went to Harry Reid and said “Obama. Obama. He’s done crooked real estate deals too, just as you have.”. But his words rang hollow and echoed back to him. He looked into Reid’s, ear and there was nothing in there. “Well, if it’s OK with Nancy. Obama!” Reid muttered. And the evil Nixon wroth spread among the Democrats in Washington. “Obama! Obama!” they cried.

And with all his unholy powers, Nixon went amongst News Media and whispered “Obama. Obama. Lift the burden of your white guilt and speak no of evil of Obama”. And Nixon placed his hand upon the leg of Chris Matthews, and his leg began to tingle. “Yes! Yes!” cried Mathews “I can feel it! Obama! Obama!”. But selling this Marxist Chicago hack was starting to exceed even his evil powers. “Satan!” Nixon cried, “send me a true spawn of Hell, a man of no morals, to whom truth is a stranger, and lies flow from his mouth like a river!”. The lightening flashed and the thunder rolled, and suddenly, before Nixon stood Keith Obermann.
And Nixon said “Come on, give me a break huh? The high water mark in this guy’s career was a Subway Sandwich commercial. Well, you gotta work with what you got.”. And with MSNBC in hand, he spread his poison around the media, who drank the brew with glee and cried “Obama! Obama!”. Oprah drank a gulp and cried “Obama!”. All the best actors of Hollywood drank in the evil that Nixon brought them and yelled “Obama!”. And so did George Clooney. But Nixon was confused. Why was Clooney not in Hell already? “Didn’t anyone see “Leatherheads”? Well, no matter,” And the ghost of Nixon smiled as his minions carried his Satanic message of Obama.

And with Hollywood and the media in his grasp, the evil Nixon spread his message across the land to the masses. All those who opposed him were called racist and abused. “Obama! Obama! Make money at home stuffing envelopes. Obama! Obama! He will outlaw bad luck. Obama! Obama! A rich distant relation will die in Kenya and leave you all his money. Obama! Obama!”. Their blood hot with the fever of Obama, the masses ignored all that was bad with Obama and made him their nominee.

Slowly, the Nixon evil began to wear off. “What have we done?” they began to ask. “This guy is an influence peddler, with a best friend that is an unrepentant domestic terrorist, and with no experience in anything resembling leadership. He was only present in the Senate for 130 days. And he picked the biggest hack in Washington to run with. Oh God, What have we done?”

And the Ghost of Nixon smiled. “Maybe I was a crook, but at least I’m not a moron”.

So all you Democrats listen. Be good, or the ghost of Nixon will make you pick another loser again. Tell this story around the Democratic campfire as your burning all those unused Obama yard signs.

Are You SURE She's Not TINA FEY?   August 30th, 2008 - 2:04 pm

ONCE AGAIN MSNBC SEXISM APPEARS, DID YOU EXPECT THEM TO TREAT HER ANY DIFFERENTLY THEN HILLARY

Namaste   August 30th, 2008 - 3:41 pm

Somehow along the way all of you have lost your everlovin’ minds. You do not understand that McCain does not really give a rat’s behind about women’s issues or the rights of the unborn. He only cares about getting his body into the White House. And that is why he has chosen Sarah Palin. McCain said as recently as one week ago when news of Biden’s VP status broke that “Vice Presidents don’t do much except monitor the health of the President and represent the U.S. at State funerals.” And some thought he was so clever.Another time he quoted a former vice presidential candidate who said that “The Vice Presidency is not worth a bucket of spit!” So what Palin has to worry about is ticking off the boss. And she will. Everybody does at some point or another. And the spit will fly. And then he will treat her just the way he did (and does), the significant women in his life, his wives. He publicly humiliated both of them.Cindy was called a “trollop and a c—.” He cheated on the first mother of his children for years after returning as a hero from Nam. Everyone in Washington and the military knew about. This included the Reagans. and Ross Perot who had no nice things to say about the returning hero.
Well, Ms. Palin has a lot of moxie and she makes a good governor for the largest state with one of the smallest populations who vote. But she is in a very dicey place especially since she is currently under investigation.
I hope for her sake that Mc treats her well no matter what happens but I will not count on it. He is a loose cannon with a very short fuse who is old and does not take direction well, especially from a woman. She is definitely a high maintenance woman who does not take a backseat. Mc will not be able to deal with that!

daisymae   August 30th, 2008 - 3:44 pm

Fox News has either been intimadated or is in the tank for Obama because they have been having a SUCK-FEST as discreetly as they can. Before the DNC election, it was Obama 24/7, now today, instead of the RNC, its the hurricaine. Where is the buildup to the RNC? I heard Murdock and his daughter is for NOBAMA so they’ve probably been told to promote him. Remember how Sean Hannity was on Rev Wright, Ayers and Farrakhan? Now you don’t hear him mention it. I think they censored him. All the barbie dolls on there were just jubilent at the convention the other night and of course, there’s old Shepard. Think he’ll have another breakdown tantrum when this hurricaine hits? Fox would do well to remember who put them in first place. It certainly wasn’t the hateful dems.

“Welcome to the ranks of the political operative, MSNBC. You’ve out-FOXed Fox.”

Perfectly put. I don’t watch either, they’re filled with s**t-spewing morons like this clown at Fox and then there’s Olbermann and his pal Baby Huey over at MSNBC–but they’re successfully dividing an already divided country, and that’s dishonest journalism.

unclesmedley   August 30th, 2008 - 4:21 pm

Mr. Pot, meet Mr. Kettle… It’s fun watching the FoxNews machine melt down. They’re about two months away from donning sheets and burning crosses. MSNBC is biased indeed–they’re a counterbalance to Fox, and they’re positioning themselves to become the new blathermachine of record.

GI Joe   August 30th, 2008 - 4:24 pm

Don’t know why Bill gets into such a tizzy over this. I guess it’s theatrics, because I really don’t think he is surprised. All he needs to do is tell the audience he has some footage and show it. It speaks for itself. Come 5 Nov, Olbermann (my wife calls him Oberwoman) and his dozens of viewers will continue to make snide remarks while trying to grasp what went wrong. All you have to do is ask questions and report. For an older example, “Mrs Heinz-Kerry, what do you really think of your husbands health care plan? Oh really; would you care to expand? We’d like to hear more?”

The American public will figure it out in the end. Then after McCain takes office, Jon Stewart and Bill Maher will be able to have more fresh material mocking the people running the country and making decisions.

McCain's BRILLIANT   August 30th, 2008 - 6:43 pm

McCain’s NUTS August 30th, 2008 – 10:52 am

Palin has more experience as an elected representative then the community activist that MSNBC has ordained for president. Palin is a brilliant choice and it has the libs cowering. Of course, BO and his 300 juvenile campaign strategist first comment was a classless jab at this woman. They don’t know how to react to brilliance.

BO is a political novice, marxist, elitist, washington-insider that is watching his candidancy being brilliantly dismantled. I also add that he is a coward for not selecting HRC. All McCain/Palin ‘08 need are 15 to 20% of those 18 million HRC votes and they will topple the empty suit in November.

I’ll bet you are all up in arms about the guys killed in Iraq – you know the ones who ensure you the freedom to sit on a chat board and do nothing for your country? Killing babies is the only thing a democrat will fight for, or maybe queers and criminals.

GlobalObserver   August 30th, 2008 - 8:12 pm

Although I think O’Reilly is a blowhard 80 percent of the time, he was dead on right about this one.

Reprehensible! NBC affords more dignity to serial killers at their sentencings.

True class-act anchors, like Walter Conkrite, would have walked off the air. He’s right about Williams and Brokaw.

GlobalObserver   August 30th, 2008 - 8:17 pm

Apologies for misspelling the great “Cronkite’s” name!

Dana   August 30th, 2008 - 8:21 pm

O’Reilly is such a hack. I was watching Fox at the time of that incident and watched his indignation. What a pile! Then he has the nerve to hold Fox up as an example of the journalistic highroad. Moments before that interview started and before the commercial break O’Reilly had a photograph of Former President Jimmy Carter and below it the banner read “Pinhead Report”. That’s Fox’s highroad. I just enjoy watching Fox just to see how unfair and distorted they can get. I can’t wait to watch them gush over McCain’s speech.

KyleCope   August 30th, 2008 - 8:40 pm

Unlike most of you liberal idiots who parrot the DailyKos line as if it’s manna from heaven, I actually worked for Fox News for two years and it’s so full of liberals I couldn’t stand it.

If you actually WATCH Fox News — which many of you commenting obviously don’t — you can actually see the opposing viewpoint given airtime, Democrats allowed to speak, etc. (More than I could stand when I was there, actually, because I know the other networks don’t even bother with opposing viewpoints, or stack D-to-R ratios in roundtable segments by like 5-to-1).

O’Reilly is a commentator, Hannity is a commentator, like Olbermann is supposed to be, except they pretend he’s an unbiased newsman. (One with like a quarter of O’Reilly’s ratings, BTW.)

Fact is, MSNBC isn’t changing any minds — they’re preaching to the converted already — but the network is insane with how commentary replaces news. This goes for Chris (”Obama gives me chills”) Matthews (a commentator and former -cough- President Carter speechwriter) who masquerades as a newsman.

Oh, and as for the guy thinking misspelling Cronkite’s name was a disservice, he did the country a bigger dishonor by presenting talking points and commentary (sometimes from the KGB itself, it was revealed by former Soviet spies) as “hard news” back when he was basically the only game in town.

I’m a writer and reporter, have worked in the trenches of news for many different companies. I have no undying loyalty to my former employer, but I call ‘em like I see ‘em.

I’m sure most of you pointlessly slagging Fox don’t have my experience or have any idea about the network’s ratings and standing with Pew Institute and other neutral organizations’ take on how balanced Fox is compared to other networks. Google that sometime instead of “Keith Olbermann pin-up pics” and maybe you’ll learn something.

Dana   August 30th, 2008 - 9:03 pm

I put Olbermann and O’Reilly in the same category. They both make me wince.

I do have to admit that I enjoy watching the talking heads on Fox try and throw their support behind the McCain/Palin ticket when it’s obvious that they’re not really comfortable with his choice.

It’ll be interesting to see if McCain’s choice was made from sound judgement or out of desperation.

Name ONE prominent republican that is uncomfortable with this choice! The base is more excited than it has been in years.

Palin is a great pick and you will see the impact of this decision next week when Americans get to know her.

My GOD, Its truly amazing when FOX news has turned into sensational news that most of these so called Christian right people like to watch. There is more skin and sex shown on fox tan any other network hands down. FOX knows that the people who like to watch them loves drama in their own lives. You use examples of how awful MSNBC is because they run something about how many houses someone has, But when FOX runs a segment having a moron call the fist jab a TERRORIST FIST PUMP, That must be OK. This is the kind of junk that the right likes to play. They play it because most people on the right dont really care about the truth they only care about slamming other people. Whats even worse is the RNC has always claimed they are the CHristian party. Are you Repubs really acting like christians? C’mon, your all idiots. If by now you dont know that MSNBC is the voice for the left and FOX is the voice for the right then you might want to pul you heads out of your butts. GOD the so called Christian right in this country just makes me want to throw up. You people make me sick just like you make GOD sick. You all will burn while we laugh

Calm down kids. Fox News is just spreading the word for their man. Other public service announcements of the GWB,..excuse me, the Fox News Channel of the past have been, “So that fish and humans can coexist together.” “So that OBGYNs can practice their love on women.” “I don’t know how many homes I own…I’ll get back in touch with you on that..ain’t it terrible how poor folks suffer?” “Oil will sale below $20 a gallon after we invade Iraq.” “Stupid war protesters, down right unpatriotic..by the way dear, junior tried to sign up for the Army but I talked him out of it. He’s crazy at times and I hung up on the recruitor. I love Bill and make em stay in Iraq but the nerve of them trying to get my Junior to go!”

I do NOT understand this guys issue. If that happened on FOX news and it was about Obama he would not say anything. What a joke.”

It doesn’t sound like you’ve watched his show much. He actually does try to be fair, even though he does have his bias. He doesn’t hide his views— his show is about his views— he does not do anything underhanded, manipulative, or deceitful. And he admits when he is wrong (usually). I’ve never seen the same thing from people like Olberman. All I get from them is ego— at least with O’Reilly his ego is only one part of what he brings to the table. And he has made a big deal about balancing things out on FOX. FOX-hating people who never watch his show never seem to get this.

Gregory Scott   August 30th, 2008 - 10:55 pm

DaisyMae,

There is a case of mistaken identity which you are clearly not aware of. Liberals get real angry, and, since few of them have any backbone, they will post under different names— often my name lately. They get their knickers in such a twist that they don’t know what to do about it!

hee hee   August 30th, 2008 - 11:17 pm

HAHAHAHA – you idiots watch TV news?

Who cares?

Journalism is just gossip and moral dilemmas anymore — ever since Ronnie Raygun, Inc. took control of the media — or haven’t you noticed the rise in talk radio + talk radio on TV since you cut off your sideburns, switched to decaf?

There’s no real news anymore, folks. Your posts and judgments here mean nothing!

Bill O is a creepy old man…if you saw him in a Disco during the 70’s, he’d be hitting on your daughter!

Now look at him! O’Viley is Gary Merrill!

So…get over to WalMart, buy some nice preppy clothes and stuff from China like you’re supposed to, OK.

News is slander – look who’s in control – it sure ain’t liberals or you’d be dresing cooler and listening to FUN kickass dance music!!!

beverly   August 30th, 2008 - 11:45 pm

how amusing to listen to the sheer panic of the libs. they are stooping even lower than normal under the pressure mccain, in one brilliant move, put them under. they have resorted to vile name calling, bogus accusations, lying, deceit…and
exposing themselves in the process. hopefully,
they will destroy themselves and take msnbc with them. oh happy day!

Almost a moot point about Paloon,,with her ex wife sister involvmnt investigation,,abuse of power plus the corruption in alaska politics ahe will be resigning soon,,when does bill turn purple, grab his chest and go face down..

Nick   August 31st, 2008 - 12:15 am

Fox is actually quite amusing, because they go so overboard on trying to convince the audience and themselves that they are offering legitimate news.

They are like the amateurs of a high school play after rehearsal who go around spouting grandiose lines, such as: “Am I not an ac-tor? a thespian, sir? Take me seriously! To be or not to be. Allow me to worship, thee? I beg of you my lady.”

Oh, brother!

It makes for some good windbag entertainment, and apparently a lot of people enjoy laughing along, too, because their numbers are always growing.

I still prefer The Simpsons, but it’s too close to call.

Dana   August 31st, 2008 - 2:03 am

Jodi,
Like I said before regarding Palin, I’m sure that she’s intelligent and has done some very good things for Alaska. The largest and probably one of the least populated states in the union. I want to see how see how she conducts herself and how she answers the questions.

A lot of the people that make comments here just want to choose sides, and desperately want someone else to be wrong.

In general government doesn’t function all that well, and I’m concerned about how the power that we give these politicians will affect my liberties. When people run for office and have strong roots in “magical thinking” it makes me nervous. I’ve heard that she has strong beliefs, I want to hear her views on creationism and abortion. That will tell me a lot about how she views the world.
Some people are more than ready to take away other peoples rights in order to make the world conform to their sense of order, I’m just not willing to hand mine over that easily.

Gregory Scott – what RIGHT does a woman have to murder a human being because he opened her legs and had her fun? The only has the RIGHT to murder her stupid, selfish, heartless self, and even for that she will go to hell.

I’ll bet you are all up in arms about the guys killed in Iraq – you know the ones who ensure you the freedom to sit on a chat board and do nothing for your country? Killing babies is the only thing a democrat will fight for, or maybe queers and criminals.

Daisymae,
Put your teeth back in deary. I think your powers of reasoning went with the contents of your last shot glass.

beep beeep beeeep beeep, “This is breaking news from the Fixed News Channel. We have just learned of more experiences of the Governor of Alaska and additional projects she has completed that makes her into an impressive VEEP candidate:
Shes has mowed lawns, baby sitted for her friends, had yard sales, talked briefly with John McCain twice over the last two years, washed cars to raise money, collected aluminum cans, washed clothes, enetered beauty pagents, and redecorated her bathroom.”
The far right conservative base is shaking in waves of ecstatic joy over this latest news. One evangelical political pundit was quoted, “These latest achievements of the Governor will enough to counter the tough questions when she faces Senator Biden in a debate. Another evangelical far right pundit, The Rev. Hacker, from “We Focus on Your Families stated, “And-eth I-ah say-ahh to you-ah. She-ah will-ah shut-eth Biden downeth in the hardeth questions-ath about-uth foriegn-eth relations-eth! Prayeth for rain-eth upon-eth Obama-eth!”

Faux Muse   August 31st, 2008 - 4:57 am

Typical Faux tactic. Become SO outraged and indignant over something so minute, then call someone out on their intellectual honesty or ‘courageousness’ over it. Shouldn’t they focus on more pressing things, like working on more softball questions for Condi or Dick?

Blondie   August 31st, 2008 - 12:59 pm

To Blah Blah:

The point is that it was wrong for MSNBC to do it and something like that wouldn’t happen at FOX.

There is a reason that FOX News and the majority of their shows consistently rank #1 in the ratings – they are the most fair and balanced news. It is just that the rest of the news media is so far left-wing, you can’t recognize balanced and fair, even if it bit you on the buttocks.

If FOX is so biased as all the liberals claim and the rest are only reporting the gospel truth, why does FOX have the highest ratings? The MAJORITY of people who watch news, watch FOX. Go ahead, what is your explanation? My explanation is that people do want news that is unbiased, balanced and fair. The vitriolic attacks on FOX by liberals is just a tactic of if you lie about something/someone you hate long enough and loudly enough, eventually the sheep will take up the mantra as well.

A lot of times, critics of FOX cite the COMMENTARY shows when trying to point out bias, but they are not NEWS shows – they are commentary and opinion. The NEWS shows are fair and balanced.

Vet Dad   August 31st, 2008 - 1:27 pm

It is awesome to see the insane fits the far right neo cons are having over the sweet funny truthful lampooning question of, How many homes does this add to the ticket? I was hoping MCCAin would pick Romney. Because the far right evangelical neo cons get easily confused and deep thinking shorts out their frontal lobes. They would stay home because they would not want to elect a cult member as the next VP. I was pleased beyond my greatest peaks of pleasure when McCain picked Palin as his VP! McCain with his, “I don’t know how many homes I own, I did not know Iraq did not border with Pakistan, and I thought it was still 1989 and I’m in Czechoslovakia, and which tribes are doing what, please Joe LIEberman, whisper it in my ear because I have no clue” then the Palin pick rapture beyond deep exploding joy! The duuuuuhhh factor will be spewing from her when she faces Senator Biden and they debate foreign policy issues. She could pull out her new passport and talk about Canada and the latest home and garden fix it up ideas.

Blondie   August 31st, 2008 - 7:42 pm

Bill O’Really (I know it’s O’Reilly) is a BIG WIND BAG! His mouth is almost as big as his HEAD. This man is always outraged over something, so this is nothing new. He doesn’t matter to normal people just to the pigs/piglets that eat the pigslop dished out from the Fox News Network hog pen that they call Fair & Balanced news.

Blondie   September 1st, 2008 - 8:36 am

LOL at VetDad and BeverlyAnn66. Thank you both for making my point so clearly. LOL.

All Fox News Channel cult members and the groupies of the Hannitized Church of O’reily believe that God is the Supreme Neo Con, his angels are right wing Republicans and you must be a card carrying member of the GOP to escape burning Hell.
Those of us who actually think and do not stand in line to drink the Neo Con flavored Koolaid all know if Zombies were to overrun a GOP gathering they would die again from starvation. For there would be no brains found for them to eat.

SA_LIKE_IT_IS   September 1st, 2008 - 1:05 pm

Its quite amusing that some actually attacks the V.P pick for her lack of experience… hmm and how did Obama get elected to his seat and what experience does he have?

VetDad   September 1st, 2008 - 9:17 pm

Bill as a young boy came home from his new school. He was crying. His mother asked him, Bill, why are you crying?” Bill answered, “Mommie, all the kids made fun of me today. They kept calling me a block-head.” Bill’s mother seeking to comfort him said, “Bill, don’t cry! The kids were actually being very nice to you! They must like you a lot!” Bill asked his mother, “Really mommie, how do you know?” His mother said, “Because the kids all know as I do your head is really big, fat, ugly and severely deformed.”
I like being silly about Bill. He sends out his sneaky little minnie me with the camera to pull a suprise interview on those he thinks talked bad about him. As a father of two Iraq war vets I would love for him to send a minnie me to my house. We could talk about disabled vets one of which I am a father to. Maybe we could discuss late night phone calls to….well that’s one subject I admit he does not talk about any longer.

Blondie   September 2nd, 2008 - 12:42 am

VetDad – you are in need of some serious counselling. All that hate has got to be eating at your heart and soul. As the daughter of a war vet, the sister of another war vet and the mother of another, I will sincerely pray for you.

Isome   September 2nd, 2008 - 4:34 am

That was a funny post VetDad! Don’t worry when rightwingers employ their usual psychological projection tactics. The only hate is coming from their side of the aisle; they just can’t stand it when they get mocked in response.

Blondie   September 2nd, 2008 - 6:34 am

Isome – are you delusional or just deliberately obtuse? Try looking over the posts. The hatred and vileness is all coming from the liberal side, not the conservative one. For you to talk about projection is the height of disingenuousness. It is funny and pathetic all at the same time.

VetDad   September 2nd, 2008 - 12:45 pm

Isome, thanks. I long ago noticed this sort of venom and inward hate they have they will project towards those they disagree with. But we can understand why they project their inward hate on others when we realize these neo cons believe: “That God is the Supreme wacky far right Neo Con, His angels are card carrying extreme evagelicals, you have to be a Republican to make Heaven, belong to the Church of O’reily and be hannitized to escape Hell.”
Isome, if you’ve been around the political spectrum for awhile you can almost type their responses for them because they are that predictable. It is not hard to do. Just think less, drink more neo con flavored koolaid and believe that Fox News is a no spin network! See? It’s easy!
I am used to seeing this sort of simple minded thinking. We have to just keep standing up to them.

VetDad   September 2nd, 2008 - 4:07 pm

What joy! O what glee! Obama hits 50% in the Gallup poll! Obama’s numbers are moving up while McCain’s in sinking down!
Thank you Senator McCain for picking the Alaskan Governor as your running mate!
