Obama: ‘We Cannot Turn Back’

"America, we cannot turn back. Not with so much work to be done. Not with so many children to educate, and so many veterans to care for. Not with an economy to fix and cities to rebuild and farms to save. Not with so many families to protect and so many lives to mend. America, we cannot turn back. We cannot walk alone. At this moment, in this election, we must pledge once more to march into the future. Let us keep that promise, that American promise, and in the words of Scripture hold firmly, without wavering, to the hope that we confess."

What’s the matter James, are you sad that your God couldn’t make it pour on the DNC?

You should consider joining the “pray at the pumps” wacko’s, at least then you could be shouting to everyone, “Look, gas has dropped 10%! Thank you God for answering our prayers! Now nobody can doubt you are the One True God out of the plethora of Gods!”

I love that word plethora, it’s just fun to say. Plethora.

Tubby   August 28th, 2008 - 10:45 pm

I can summarize Barak Obama’s “change/hope” message in a few short words.

1. Preach a flawed interpretation of the constitution and christianity to tax the wealthy and redistribute that money to the poor.

2. Continue the eighty year old plan of building a huge meddling centalized federal government that breeches all aspects of the 10th amedment.

3. Never use the military for its real purpose or to confront those that wish to do harm to the USA, just placate them.

4. Turn a blind eye to any law breakers that help him to stay in power.

Thats it, all he says can fit under those four simple headings..

MeReady   August 28th, 2008 - 11:39 pm

I’m still shaking. Obama is our hero! He is the greatest of all time! Obama, we are ready. Take from us what you need in order to make our world more perfect. We are yours!

TURNBACK   August 29th, 2008 - 1:14 am

Those of you who vote for Yomamma will wish to you GOD you could TURN BACK but you will find yourself forever beholden to the slick tongue of Obama.

Remember, BILL CLINTON signed NAFTA which is killing American jobs.

Obama will do similiar acts of stupidity, further selling America and Americans down the river.

Mark my words this day, I am RIGHT!

HANOI JOHN   August 29th, 2008 - 1:23 am

He is my GOD!

The Lord Obama.

They Did It   August 29th, 2008 - 3:54 am

Well, despite all the naysaying, prognosticating, and wishful thinking on the part of the media and others who were hoping for a nasty bunch of Democrat-in-fighting, they seem to have pulled it off: A peaceful, harmonious convention, full of entertaining moments, uplifting speeches, and energizing ideas.

Not bad! (And this coming from someone who is probably not going to vote for Obama, unless McCain pulls something really, really stupid.)

Congrats to the Democrats.

m-antony   August 29th, 2008 - 4:20 am

Can you believe there are that many clueless people being lead by the magical one.

You fools have nominated an Arab-American.

Don   August 29th, 2008 - 5:30 am

What? Blue skies?! Where in the hell is the rain of Biblical proportions? Oh yeah, that’s right, Christians are morons.

Jamesb   August 29th, 2008 - 5:51 am

Hey Don, you might be the moron. The metaphorical rain gave us a metaphorical FROG, look! It’s giving a speech! Uh, duh like ya know…blah, blah, der duh. And he reads a teleprompter!

Rastus   August 29th, 2008 - 7:20 am

A speech that is 40 years old and given by every Democrat candidate since 1968.

Not a thing new.

demdicks   August 29th, 2008 - 7:24 am

I can’t believe it, a “soaring” speech in front of his tearful “flock”, minus any details, just decades old democrat party talking points, whoda thunk it? Actually, just about anyone with a brain, which of course excludes all those in attendance. It just goes to show it doesn’t take much to entertain liberals.

PhoneBill   August 29th, 2008 - 8:43 am

Ahhhh yes, the ever popular Style Over Substance.

Nick   August 29th, 2008 - 9:17 am

Barack, you said it.

McCain does not have the temperament or judgment to be president!

Mary Jo   August 29th, 2008 - 9:18 am

Teddy, do you have a healthcare plan for me?

Does Lord Obama?

Teddy, I thought you were going to get me help?

Piker   August 29th, 2008 - 11:26 am

yeah, all of the woes of the world are being laid at the door step of George Bush, the Democrats running congress had nothing to do with it…
Gimme a break.

dr jay   August 29th, 2008 - 11:38 am

all the audience needed to do to make this perfect was to hold snakes and have an epileptic fit.

bob   August 29th, 2008 - 12:45 pm

Wow, such jealousy! Don’t be. You Republicans have a perfectly good candidate. Although he’s not a great speaker, he’s much better than Bush, so that will be a plus.

Also, you have most of the issues on your side.

Gas prices are coming down.
Housing prices are coming down.
The economy is declining at a slower rate than it was a few months ago.
More criminals than ever are in prison.
More people are buying more guns.
We have been winning in Iraq for over 5 years.
We are not losing in Afghanistan as badly as we were.
We are going to be drilling all over the US for oil. Exports of domestic oil are currently at 15% and we now may be able to increase that.
Unemployment may be leveling off.
Tax cuts for the super rich will allow them to buy more goods and services, which in turn will provide jobs for the people who provide those goods and services.

Jody   August 29th, 2008 - 3:16 pm

Tubby,
How do you explain that the Bush government grew rather than shrink?

And what did you think of the thoughts that we’re more unsafe without any friends/allies?

demdicks   August 29th, 2008 - 5:07 pm

Jody,
I can explain that for you concerning government growth. Bush wanted to show the world he can “cross the aisle” to get along with democrats, and one of the ways he sought to get along was to let them have their spending programs which always grow government. To his chagrin however liberals still hate anything that is not liberal so no matter how much he gave them it was not enough, Bush derangement syndrome grew right along the size of government, I hope a REAL conservative base takes notice and the next chance they get(and dems WILL screw up) shut liberals out of the process completely, removing judges from the bench that are incompetent libs, weeding out libs from the justice, state departments as well as education. Only by forcefully taking radical liberalism head on will any progress be made.

Gregory Scott   August 29th, 2008 - 10:14 pm

Bob,

It is silly to accuse people of jealousy. I don’t think any right-wingers here are jealous of the Democrats, just worried that their tool will win the election.
