Newly-Released Documents Cause Stir Over Obama Connection to ’60s Radical
WBBM: On the third floor of the University of Illinois at Chicago Library, news organizations and other interested parties gathered Tuesday morning to start examining 137 boxes containing 900 files. The papers are records of Obama's work with the Chicago Annenberg Challange, a non-profit group founded to help reform Chicago schools back in the 1990s, for which Obama was chairman of the board.
Among those who founded the group was William Ayers, now 63, who helped start the radical 1960s group the Weather Underground, also known as the Weathermen.
Ayers is a “well-respected education professor”? Does that square with being an unrepentent bomber? Ayers is on film, saying he wished his Weathermen had done more! Obama should have been more cautious in picking his friends and supporters on his race to the White House, and the Democrats should have properly vetted Obama before ordaining him as their candidate. In addition to having no credentials for the presidency, Obama appears to have no friends who are not criminals or radicals.
SteveAugust 26th, 2008 - 2:58 pm
Ward Churchill was also a “well-respected education professor”.
Steve TAugust 26th, 2008 - 3:49 pm
I’m glad the Kool Aid that us libitards drink wasn’t subject to this “stir”. Wouldn’t have tasted quite right.
What was the stir caused?
They released documents. Call me when they actually find something in those boxes.
Maybe, it’s weather records? They were the Weathermen after all. I wonder if the women who were in the weathermen found that title not politically correct enough? Did they insist on being called Weatherwomen?
dswilli and any really smart conservative knows the Weathermen have been conspiring with Obama since he was a youngster in Hawaii, Malaysia and Kansas to change the weather globally. This was their plot to take over the United States from the beginning.
The next step is for the weather interests to hand over the country to Al Qaeda.
Would you trust someone who looks at a green screen and tells you there’s really a map of the United States there? It’s no wonder those weathermen (and women) didn’t choose a red screen to show their true colors.
We have been lulled into thinking Obama is the Messiah when its really a weather man?
I think its time for the Republicans to stop talking about the weather all of the time and discuss real issues.
The Republicans don’t have exclusivity on weather forecasts.
The question is easy. Would you trust a conservative before a meteorologist? Weathermen blow up government buildings. I’ll never look at the television weather reports quite the same way again.
Does this make the Weather Channel a left wing, radical propaganda vehicle?
nobamaAugust 26th, 2008 - 4:12 pm
It does not matter what is in the box.
It could contain film of Obama cooking and eating a baby and his supporters would NOT CARE one iota.
THey MUST have their black president, regardless of his past. He is this close. Nothing else matters to them.
But it’s o.k. for McCain to say “I hate the gooks?” Given the choice between someone who hangs out with radicals and a racist, I’ll choose the radical every time.

Keep drinking the denial kool aid libs, these “associations” are starting to resonate with voters even with the MSM trying to keep it on the down low.

Ayers is a “well-respected education professor
First, there are few “well-respected” educators anymore. Everyone knows the profession is filled with liberals who have little ethics or morals.
Second, as for Ayers, he has recently said he regrets they didnt do more…. hmmm I guess it’s okay to be an unrepentent terrorist, as long as you become a “teacher”
Third, the fact that the reporter mentioned none of this, even to make note of the accusations tells us he’s just a liberal….. oh yea, that’s right the media is the another profession filled with them…
Thanks for making it so easy to see the media bias and true nature of Obama’s associates!
HayseedAugust 26th, 2008 - 5:32 pm
Exactly how old was Obama when, after 9/11, Mr. Ayres said he was proud of the violence he committed, and that he doesn’t think he committed enough violence with the Weather Underground in the 60’s? I like my president to associate with unrepentant terrorists. Doesn’t everyone else?
cvAugust 26th, 2008 - 6:13 pm
The ads are not designed for either partisans, they go right at the undecideds. Weather Obama likes it or not he has to have some kind of answer. Why doesn’t he just keep denouncing these people? It has worked so far, Ayers and Rezko arte obvious recent thorns.
Dave DAugust 26th, 2008 - 6:48 pm
“You can judge a man by the company he keeps”
Steve T – Your argument is seriously flawed. Your analagies are rediculous. Want to find some adults on this site….get educated and less partisan…then grow up. Take a step back and re-read your post. It may sound as bad to you as it does to most reasonable people.

Barrack Obama won’t be the First Black Democratic Presidential Nominee. He’ll be the First bi-racial Democratic Presidential Nominee. Why does everyone ignore the fact that he’s only half black?

“The notion of somehow as a consequence of me knowing someone who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago … when I was 8 … somehow reflects on me and my values doesn’t make sense†.. so says The One, The Messiah, Barak Obama
Question #1: Why the hell do you hang out with this guy and about a half dozen more like him (the ones we know of) — birds of a feather Barry!
Question #2: Does the consequence of my being related to those who engaged in slavery some 150-200 years ago reflect on me as many the black community desire to profess?

gotta luv the supposed repubs gonna vote for the radical. leach did obama a lot of good, everyone knows leach the loser.
But, no matter, Real America is not going to elect a BLACK RADICAL – good luck next time, barry.
Cant wait for mental cases and all of the liberal race riots when the radical loses. ought to make LA riots look like piker.
Next up – Hillie?

Don’t get your hopes up, anything of value has long since removed this is after all Illinois. Home of the most corrupt city government in America.
BarneyAugust 26th, 2008 - 11:20 pm
Are these magical documents also going to show he is a Muslim born in Indonesia :D
The cons have really turned up the false information and lies this time around. But it is wearing thin now. They would be better off finding a real candidate rather than trying to dig up something in old boxes on the Annenberg projects. But it gives them something to do I guess.
Obama has a history of having friends and advisers which indicate he is much more radical in his thought process than he admits. I suspect he agrees with Rev Wright and actually thinks that William Ayers was right. It is a terrifying situation to think that somebody like Obama is actually going to be a nominee.
dswilliAugust 26th, 2008 - 11:41 pm
Yo Barney remove your head from your arse for a minute. Your candidate openly and freely mingled with Ayers and other 60’s radicals. Ayers as recently as 2001 reaffirmed that he wished that he had been more successful in his weathermen ventures. Obama has a history of dealing with persons of questionable character. It absolutely calls in to question his judgment. If does not trouble you I wonder about YOUR judgment.

Keating Five
dswilliAugust 26th, 2008 - 11:57 pm
Bring the Keating five smack. Remember four of the five were Democrats. You really think Obama and or the media wants that? Me either.
Steve TAugust 27th, 2008 - 12:05 am
I don’t care if they were zebras. He was involved.
I can’t wait until the Dumacrats start running ads featuring Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Anne Coulter all criticizing McCain during the primaries.
Speaking of Republicans criticizing McCain here’s a good one:
“The smears claimed that McCain had fathered a black child out of wedlock (the McCains’ dark-skinned daughter was adopted from Bangladesh), that his wife Cindy was a drug addict, that he was a homosexual, and that he was a “Manchurian Candidate” who was either a traitor or mentally unstable from his North Vietnam POW days.”
Who was behind those attacks? Karl Rove and his band of patriots who also revealed the identity of one of our spies.
Oh yeah. The RepubliCANTS have it together more than the DUMacrats.
dr jayAugust 27th, 2008 - 12:07 am
So theoretically if I had a good friend in the 80’s who was Klaus Barbie…the most notorious nazi butcher of all time…it would be fine if he was on the up and up 30 yrs later. “but hey its all in the past and lets forgive”. Horsecookies! You can judge a man by the company he keeps.
Nick MitchellAugust 27th, 2008 - 12:16 am
I was alarmed to read that a large financial backer of terrorist activities has helped fund McCain’s presidential campaign.
Now, it’s time to have McCain provide a full disclosure of campaign funding he has received from those who have helped bankroll terrorists. In fact perhaps a thorough search of terrorism ties should be a normal part of the vetting process for presidential candidates from now on.
In the interest of public safety, let’s insist that John McCain doesn’t waste any more time making his financial ties to known terrorist financial backers available immediately.
Tobias2012August 27th, 2008 - 12:22 am
This is the extent of Obama’s experience, a community planner mentored by the terrorist Ayers. And Obama’s followers feel (emotional not rational) that this is enough to lead the most complex and powerful nation on Earth.
AnonymousMaxAugust 27th, 2008 - 12:26 am
Of course he’s going to get elected,..its rigged! haven’t you figured that out yet? The primaries were rigged (michigan and florida) by the same party that bemoaned the republicans in 2000. Edwards stayed in just long enough to block voters from Hillary, and no matter how much he lost a primary, due to proportional representation Obama still got half of the delegates! yet Hillary won the popular vote.
I wouldn’t be so bad except for the fact whenever his greatness makes an appearance he has to preface any speech he makes with “Behold my glory,…”
But what do I care,..I’m voting for the War Hero!
Steve TAugust 27th, 2008 - 12:30 am
“You can judge a man by the company he keeps.”
Then how do you “judge” the FACT McCain calls Ted Kennedy one of his closest friends?
Klaus Barbie and William Ayers don’t quite correlate. But if you insist. Obama never met Ayers until well after his days as a Weatherman.
You really want to compare friends? As far as I know Obama has never called Ayers a friend.
McCain has called Teddy a friend. I’m friends with a lot of Conservatives. That doesn’t make me one.
I’ve met people who were once in prison. Does that make me a criminal?
I’m still looking for the “adults” on this site. Obama sure has been busy being somebody other than who he really is.
“He was born in Indonesia. He is a Muslim. He wants to hand over this country to the terrorists.” Good thing we have professional fact finders (journalists) to sift through all of this junk. Somebody might actually believe some of it.
Guess we’re just bound to have some people get their info from sleeze.com and vote accordingly.
I just find it hilarious that people actually believe that Obama is going to surrender, whatever that means. On the same note, McCain is not the boogie monster either.
Why do we in this country gravitate toward making everything the best or worst that there is?
This is where the polarization comes from. NOTHING is that black and white.
Go ahead. Spend your time looking for something on the Obama/Ayers relationship. That’ll keep you busy.
The rest of us will spend our time trying to get at real issues.
tduckAugust 27th, 2008 - 1:07 am

… they stonewalled long enough to shedded
anything they needed to .

Although McCain looks like an older white male Republican , he is actually a young black female Democrat, because he knows people who are young or black or female or Democratic.
E390August 27th, 2008 - 1:25 am
Obama calls Billy bomber “mainstream” if John called the Oklahoma bombers mainstream the dems and the media would go ballistic. What is the difference? Obama is part of the black power movement/group, he is associated with many people who hate the USA, heck he is married to one. If all of this was reversed and it was a white dude running for president with ties to the KKK and Islam and the Nazi lovers the left would be running 24/7 with ads demanding he drop out of the race and drop out of the senate. Old lady Pelosi says Hillary supporters need to stop playing victim politics well Obama’s whole life has been a role of victim all because he is BLACK.
dr jayAugust 27th, 2008 - 1:39 am
OK Steve T, those are valid points.
I am not a John McCain fan.
I do believe Barrack views the world in a fashion that runs contrary to my worldview. I also have family and friends that have very liberal worldviews, I choose the latter based on common interests and what I percieve as their moral character. I would not have chosen Ayers as an associate but I can see why Barrack might . I dissociated myself from a doctor(business partner) once who was a liar/cheater.
I do not think Barrack is a muslim.
dswilliAugust 27th, 2008 - 2:38 am
Do you think the media would just “let it go” if it were McCain dealing with say an old KKK member? No they would not. In fact instead of trying to ignore the story it would lead the news on a nightly basis. I don’t give a flip what his reasoning is, there is NO excuse for consorting with a terrorist.
NickAugust 27th, 2008 - 3:02 am
McCain is financed by those who have funded terrorists. Let’s see the McCain documents released as well.
TexanAugust 27th, 2008 - 3:34 am
Former 60’s radical? Please, Willie the Bomber is a current unrepentant terrorist and Obama’s good buddy. That simply won’t fly with Americans with a lick of sense and Obama’s attempt to curtail the ad (1st Amendment anyone?) highlights the Obama’s camp fear of the truth.
dswilliAugust 27th, 2008 - 3:43 am
Really Nick, where do you get you information? Mother Jones, Pravda, New York Times perhaps?
Mac-101August 27th, 2008 - 3:46 am
Stevie T and other Libs, I know not one person who is excited about Sen McCain. Not ONE, except SoCal. Almost everyone I know is going to hold their nose and vote McCain as the lesser of TWO EVILS!
MalarkyAugust 27th, 2008 - 3:48 am
What is news about this. The politically aware 5% of the population have been hearing this for months. This guy is just one of many Marxists and radicals Obama is associated with.
Obama campaign is trying to bully stations into not playing ad. Obama appears to approve of free speech only as long as he likes what is being said.
Is Obama a U.S. Citizen or Not?August 27th, 2008 - 4:11 am
Forget those 137 boxes and 900 files! Just look up ONE SIMPLE DOCUMENT and let us know:
IS OBAMA REALLY A U.S. CITIZEN OR NOT??
WHERE is his original birth certificate that will answer this question? The one posted on his campaign website is merely a BLANK FORM that someone TYPED INFORMATION INTO. It proves nothing.
The only birth certificate that will PROVE whether Obama is a genuine U.S. citizen entitled to run for President is the ORIGINAL document, which to date nobody seems to have seen.
WHERE IS IT?
Inquiring minds really want to know.

People are desperate and will turn to any ammo, sad but true, no one wants to vote for them so they turn to digging into every association of Barack’s life. The only thing I get from this is that barack worked on reforming public schools, and thyat mccain is a gravedigging loser. Thanks.

I’ll also add that this is exactly why they are not getting this republican’s vote. It’s OK, they’ll know why they’ll lose in November.
