Clueless!

This guy is so naive – frightening really.

Spending is clearly the problem. Tax increases will not raise revenue as has been demonstrated in the past.

The tax system is already unfair but especially on small business owners who will only cut the benefits of workers in their taxes are raised.

Blue Gums Obama   August 18th, 2008 - 9:51 am

What an idiot. So this moron thinks the role of government is to make life fair for everyone. Of course its his idea of fairness. Notice how it’s almost all women at his rallies. Unwed women always vote dim because they want someone to take care of them. So they want government to be their husband because 1. they are too lazy to work, 2. no man will marry them.

RobertLTJR   August 18th, 2008 - 10:04 am

YIKES … the government is ENTITLED to revenue? Buffett was LUCKY?

never in my life did I dream the democrats would actually elect someone publicly committed to socialism.

anne   August 18th, 2008 - 10:12 am

a person with a financial background knows ROLL BACK TAXES means higher taxes.
Harvard and Occidental must be so proud this man attended their schools. No knowledge. made it thru life because of color gratis.

Stuart   August 18th, 2008 - 10:13 am

“FAIR”….this socialist crap sickens me. Even Warren Buffet swallows it. We are equal to fail or succeed. But all we teach children now is non-competitiveness. We are weaker for it. Barry spent his formative years outside the U.S. He’s just a purveyor of failed european dogma.

Alexis   August 18th, 2008 - 10:14 am

Yes, this guy is clueless. There is no sense in taxing successful people more, for without them there will be no jobs and no economy.

Reagan had one thing right when he said that government was the problem rather than the solution.

I have never understood why forking out more money, which involves blood, sweat, tears, sacrifice and time, in the form of taxes helps anyone. I don’t think we are getting good value for the money paid already, so why pay any more.

What the federal government can’t tax away, it prints money or borrows from others so they can spend it like water without a care in the world.

Mr. Obama, don’t you understand that when government raises taxes the overall revenue goes down? Why? There is little reason to work hard, take risks and bust your backside in order to earn more. Why bother? In FDR’s time, the income tax rates went as high as 90%! Heck, we threw out King George of England for a 10% tax on tea. Wow…At these rates something has just got to give.

Mr. Obama is like all the other non-productive, so called intellectual leftists, promote class envy. Punish acheivement and reward those who don’t want to work. Nonsense. I wish I could be wealthy so I could have the finer things in life, but I’m disabled, so I pay my own way through hard-earned savings. I don’t want anything from this system at all because I take pride in caring for myself.

Shame on anyone who votes for Mr. Obama. Another depression is on the way through the courtesy of our government, irresponsible bankers and stupid, childish consumers. I’m afraid we will get the government we deserve. God help us all!

Hungry   August 18th, 2008 - 10:26 am

Obama has a huge appetite for cash. Cash = Power.

Obama says he wants to be president in order to help the poor. That is not the job of the President. Obama is the poster child for the education con that is taking place in our country. Tax payers paid for his ivy education, and he still has not a clue.

JimmiP   August 18th, 2008 - 10:28 am

Excuse me Fauxbama, but your “friend” Warren Buffet is’nt “lucky”. He has educated himself, worked hard and taken risks with his capital to build his business. If he “doesn’t mind paying a little more” there is nothing that is keeping him from writing a check.

Did you fail to pay attention in economics class Fauxbama? Raising taxes is the last thing a government should be doing in an economic slowdown.

Dave, Tn   August 18th, 2008 - 10:46 am

Well what you know the hand the rocks Obama’s cradle is covered in Big Evil Oil. No wonder Democrats want to limit the supply. It’s good for everyone who hates America.

Hungry 10:26 am,

I think the equation is Power + NBC = $$$. I believe its the same math Pelosi has used.

Elaine   August 18th, 2008 - 11:04 am

I always felt that a candidate should have a fixed amount of funds to run for a seat of any kind in our government. This man would have been gone long time ago. We seem to only have powerful money in government, not an individual that can bring something to the table. All our officials should be allowed only 8 years in office, no more. They become fat cats on the hill with total disregard for all the people in this country regardless of what party they are.

Woody   August 18th, 2008 - 11:14 am

You notice that the government NEVER needs to spend less; it’s always the citizen that must sacrifice. After all, government DOES know best, right?

Obama is the classic socialist: he knows the policy isn’t in the country’s best interest, but socialism is in HIS best interest. This is the classic trick of using the rich’s (i.e. the middle-class’s) wealth to get himself elected by promising to give it to the poor (who already don’t pay taxes). This is tyranny, plain and simple.

Obama epitomizes everything (i.e. attitude) that is wrong in America and Western Europe. McCain wouldn’t be my first choice, but, ultimately, one has to choose between the lesser of two evils.

Defend Thyself   August 18th, 2008 - 11:25 am

Notice he says nothing about cutting the hugely massive Federal government which has so much pork to cut, they don’t need our taxes. Actually, our country went along for almost 100 years w/o an income tax, existing on tariffs and fees.

What the Government has morphed into is a disgusting disgrace to us for allowing Socialistic ass hats like Obama to invade and destroy our Republic. Screw you Obama and Screw Buffett…

Bob   August 18th, 2008 - 11:30 am

How can he say this? This seems to be another decision that is above his paygrade? Impeach Pelosi NOW!

demdicks   August 18th, 2008 - 11:39 am

Why not roll back tax cuts, they’ve already rolled back common sense so much it isn’t even common anymore. You already know 95% of the racist blacks have his vote to get “whitey’s” money, some of the previous posts nailed it, why under the obamanation would I work 5 minutes of overtime so some minority or single mom can get more food stamps and free education. Sound racist and sexist? screw you, I already am “guilty” of it anyway according to you twits, now I fully understand, appreciate and condone why the wealthy hide as much of their money as they can offshore I don’t blame them a bit. Go to hell single moms (by choice) and other miscreant lazy azz beasts of no burden. If the obummer wins, I’m joining you on welfare, you’re not getting another dime of my labors.

Thomas Pain   August 18th, 2008 - 12:23 pm

This guy just makes me want to PUKE every time I lay eyes on him.

Thomas Pain   August 18th, 2008 - 12:38 pm

I want to speak to my many like minded friends out there. It never ceases to amaze the sane and rational American how ANYONE would even consider this POS as a candidate for our highest office. Additionally, it enrages us when we see the UNBELIEVABLE BIAS of the marxist media in america. We watch in horror the wretched media in America push their socialist agenda on the unwashed uninformed daily. Please do not give up hope. We will win this thing ( as much as one can really call McCain winning).
There exists in this beautiful country of ours a fifth collum of invincibly stupid people most of whom vote democrat. These people are paraded infront of you every hour by the media, but they are NOT the majority. Do not listen to the media. They want you depressed and demoralized.
They want you to believe that “lil Jimmy Carter” is a done deal, and all that’s left is the crying. Realize what I have come to know in my many many years,– if he were even half the man, with half the popularity they portray, would they be working this hard to make dopey look like some kind of MESSIAH?

syn   August 18th, 2008 - 12:39 pm

Look on the bright side, Obama’s tax plan is one sure way to bankrupt Hollywood forever.

olddog   August 18th, 2008 - 12:56 pm

Demdicks, couldn’t agree more. I’ve decided that if Obama is elected I’ll be “downsizing” my business. That will mean laying off most of my employees (20 out of 22) and running my business as lean as possible for me to get by for the duration of his term. Don’t mean to sound like a liberal who would “leave the country” if a Republican is elected, I’m just tired of the drumbeat that I don’t pay my “fair share” of taxes. The democrats of today have become facist in their treatment of small business and I’ve had enough!

Rich   August 18th, 2008 - 1:12 pm

Look, it’s purely simple. The more they tax rich people, the less rich people will have so there will be fewer rich people. If you have fewer rich people you will have fewer rich people to tax. This means the government will get less in taxes.

And who will have to make up the difference? Right, honest hard working people.

The only way to cut taxes for the middle class is to cut taxes on the rich. Every moron knows that.

LA Dude   August 18th, 2008 - 1:52 pm

This is what scares me about him. What an idiot. But, I will still probably vote for him…there’s no other choice.

Paul   August 18th, 2008 - 2:10 pm

OMG. Who is going to vote for this naive village idiot? Doesn’t he have people advising him?

jbh50   August 18th, 2008 - 2:12 pm

Dude, you’re like such a mental giant. Dude. Far-out. Like, you vote for someone you’re scared of…oh yea dude. As long as voting won’t interupt curling through a rad wave, dude.
I’m soooo there.

Steve T   August 18th, 2008 - 2:43 pm

This blog is very scary.
Did someone actually accuse Warren Buffet of being a socialist?
Talk about clueless.
If Warren Buffet says he isn’t paying enough in taxes, I’ll take his word for it.
Maybe, Buffet just sees something every single one of you losers doesn’t?
We’ve had almost 30 years of Reaganomics BS. Nothing has trickled down to the rest of us. It’s time to try something different. we are in more debt and our economy is leaking.
If it’s socialism or whatever that works, so be it. This has not worked.
We are so in love in this country with the idea of one guy sitting on top of the pile of money at the expense of others. Those are the true “American Idols” in this country.
Why do most of us have to figure out how were going to put gasoline in our tanks again while others get mega million dollar bonuses.
If that’s socialism, then so be it. Warren Buffet is not a socialist.

xjug1987   August 18th, 2008 - 2:50 pm

The guy is just plain dangerous. He is a friggin spend thrift liberal. A lying narcissist like Bill Clinton, and John Edwards. Liars and Narcissists. The world revolves around them. Our Founding Fathers must be rolling around in their graves that this is the best we can do. Pathetic moron this one, and has a 50/50 shot at the highest office on the planet. What gives? Proof that in America ANYONE, can get elected.

xjug1987   August 18th, 2008 - 2:52 pm

Hey Jackass, $3.3 Trillion should be enough to run a country. You and your ilk are destroying our country.

Stan   August 18th, 2008 - 2:54 pm

Warren Buffett could pay higher taxes any time he cares to by sending in a check or selling his TAX FREE BONDS. Don’t be fooled, folks, Warren is taking a legal route to paying lower taxes and he’s using that position to protest that YOU should pay more.

If you don’t think Nobama will spend $1.5 for every $1 in new taxes on “the rich” I have a bridge I think you’d love to buy.

E390   August 18th, 2008 - 2:56 pm

Well, Barry I was always told “life is not fair”. Need proof? Just ask all the murdered babies whose killers you back. You want to tax the rich more then start in hollywood. Implament your 70% tax rate on them then add in your gang banger rap dorks and see just how much support you still have.

Malarky   August 18th, 2008 - 2:56 pm

The top 10% of earners in America, the over $100,000 people, pay 68% of income tax collected. The bottom 50%, Obama supporters, pay only 3% of total income tax collected. Year 2006 figures. Go figure !!

Cool   August 18th, 2008 - 2:59 pm

If Mr. Buffet pays ANY income taxes at all, and he wants to pay more, let him have his accountants write a check and send it to the IRS. He can also pay more by taking less write-offs and deductions and such.
The real wack jobs are the ones who will actually vote for this lying Marxist in November.

An American tax payer voting for Obama bin Lyin is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders.

Putting this Obama-Mohammed bum in office is just like putting Michael Jackson in charge of the preschool.

B. Huaaein Obama bin Lyin is America’s most dangerous candidate period.

Cliff   August 18th, 2008 - 3:14 pm

When Warren Buffet writes an extra check to the teasury for a billion or so of his moslty tax sheltered cash, let me know. Until then, spare the phony appeals to authority.

Chris   August 18th, 2008 - 3:20 pm

The only REAL way to raise revenue is to raise the GDP. Obama needs to take an accounting class.

xjug1987   August 18th, 2008 - 3:20 pm

Hey SteveT you are clueless. This country is not Europe! We’re a Representative Republic. Thats how it was set up, thats what it is. Look it up. The Govt is not designed to be a Nanny. The GOvt is WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY out of line with what its been Constitutionally designed to control. Its insane how far. Buffett worked for his $$. Thats America. At least he earned it as did Romney. Bill Clinton never made more than $36000. a year until he lied his way to DC. Now he’s worth $110M plus? Hmmm… is someone exploiting their position? If that were a Republican, you’d never hear the end of it. Guys like Obama are empty suits, which makes him dangerous because of what they promise to those that fill his pockets. If OBama wants to really change things, do not take any more taxes from income earners, but confiscate anyones net worth over $25M. So that means that John Kerry just lost $775M, Clintons $80M, Kennedy’s probably $500M, Edwards $15M. Propose that Obama, then watch these “Mouths” start hiding all their assets. No, that’ll never happen, because wage earners that make $150K are the RICH in Obama’s America.

Gregory Scott   August 18th, 2008 - 3:29 pm

Could I please get a date with Alexis?

Boxstriker   August 18th, 2008 - 3:35 pm

Well Obama, try cutting spending first! The difference between Warren Buffet and Me is that I only make 200K a year and I am in the same marginal tax bracket As Him! Yeah, I’m rich….my ass! I already pay 45% of my paycheck to taxes!!!! Enough is enough!

Dooley   August 18th, 2008 - 3:52 pm

Obama doesn’t understand how capitalism works. When you have lower tax rates, even on the “rich”, there is more money available for capital investment, which creates more jobs. You end up with a greater number of people paying taxes at a lower rate and the result is more tax revenue for the U.S. Treasury. Example: when Ronald Reagan first became president in 1981, the top tax rate for the richest Americans was 70%, and the Federal Government took in $500 billion in tax revenue. He got that tax top rate reduced to 38%, and when he left office in 1989, the Federal Government took in $950 billion in tax revenue. Obama doesn’t have a clue. It will be a disaster if he’s elected. Go McCain!!!

Texas   August 18th, 2008 - 3:53 pm

This a** clown believes in limits. Limiting you in everythinbg, how much you can eat, how much you can drive, how much electricity you can use, what radio stations can and can’t air, limiting how long the military can stay in Iraq with one GIANT exception. Hussein Obama wants UNLIMITED power and money for his benevolvent, munificent goverment.

Gregory Scott   August 18th, 2008 - 4:11 pm

“Uh, uh, uh, oh, uh— You’re doing too well, making too much money. Uh, oh, uh, uh, uh, uh— time to, uh, cough up a little dough for all the poor folks who didn’t work hard enough to get somewhere, uh, oh. Uh, oh, uh, uh you employ them, sure, oh uh, but, uh, you need to give them an uh raise via the government, uh, uh. So, uh, give us a big chunk of uh uh uh your money, uh, and we’ll decide how to uh spend it on the poor. After it goes through the uh government grinder first, though— uh, you gotta pay for the infrastructure that is developed to uh hand out your uh money that you worked for…

“uh uh uh uh uh oh uh oh I shall be victorious and reign supreme!”

Amen Alexis.

Farg   August 18th, 2008 - 5:21 pm

All speculations and name-calling from the armchair economists. Pretty typical for this site. No rational debate at all. Just a bunch of bitter children whining. And this is pre-president Obama…yikes.

Reagan is dead and no one cares anymore.

It’s funny, but you guys never complain about Bush and what’s happened economically under his watch. It’s time to swallow your pride and be smart again, people. You should be enraged at your precious party and everything it stands for. I know it’s gonna be a long road, but you’ll rebuild in time.

Don’t judge Obama yet…he may just surprise you. But you won’t vote for him because his middle name is Hussein. Sad, so sad.

Gregory Scott   August 18th, 2008 - 5:38 pm

Farg,

I think it is you who does not understand. There is nothing in your post that applies to me at all whatsoever.

Go figure.

I won’t vote for Obama for a plethora of very, very good reasons. Reasons that are beyond your ability to consider. His middle name— and, surprise! his skin color— have nothing to do with my problems with him. You dismiss every red herring that pops up— dance around and pretend it isn’t there. Because you trust him. And your trust stems from a distrust of Bush & Co. So distrust in one defaults into trust of another. Very liberal-esque.

Do you think everyone here has no criticism of Bush? Then you are a trite and daft person. Preference of a Republican over a Marxist Democrat— and he /is/ a Marxist, if you objectively analyze his words and his life you will find this— does not suggest that you approve of all that the Republicans do. Assuredly this is not the case with the majority of Republicans. Otherwise, you see, Bush would have a higher approval rating, and McCain would be much more popular.

Ah, to be liberal! It would be such an easy life!

Farg   August 18th, 2008 - 6:25 pm

Mr. Scott,

What don’t I understand? I wasn’t directing my post at you per se, just more of generalization and focus on the typical posts that appear on this site. Guess I got caught up in the game.

So, please give me the very, very good reasons you aren’t voting for Obama. You know, the ones that are beyond me.

Thanks for analyzing me…you seem to be generalizing too it seems.

What are these red herrings that you speak of. I’d like some proof of how Obama is a Marxist. If you objectively analyze anything anyone says, assumptions can be made about anyone.

I guess I’m just tired of hearing people call Obama all these things, while offering nothing but opinions and regurgitated Limbaugh-speak for their accusations.

Gregory Scott   August 18th, 2008 - 7:25 pm

I’ve found that the majority of my generalizations are close enough for me, most of the time.

I’m not going to give you all my reasons; that would require me to spend such an incredible amount of time that I just cannot do it. And, anyway, I am convinced this would not do any good because, if you don’t see it now, you probably aren’t going to see it. Every point— no matter what it is based in or how well argued— will be rebutted, no doubt. I find that many people seem to have an insecurity about their convictions, and perhaps not trust their own views all the way— they have some reasonable self-doubt, as we all should. But then they are unwilling to weigh the opposing viewpoints, preferring to cast them aside as entertaining certain thoughts and ideas is too challenging. I will not prove to you that Obama is a Marxist. It is your job to find that out. His mind was suckled on Marxist teachings and ideology. Read his books. He is a dishonest person— though you have to delve much more deeply into him to find this convincingly, there are plenty of hints that he throws out every time he opens his mouth. It requires an insight to see it— and I do not mean a bias, but a real insight into people (especially liars, of whom I’ve known a multitude).

The evidence is there for all to see. Whether they take the time to see it, whether they are capable of seeing it, or whether they prefer not to see it— this is irrelevant. The truth is out there… But it isn’t my job to beat sense into all those who do not see it. Sorry, you’re basically on your own.

Farg   August 18th, 2008 - 8:05 pm

Such is life, Mr. Scott…such is life. Oh well…it’s the same…from both sides. People like or don’t like someone for whatever reason, and that’s fine. In this realm, we have to keep it purely political though because that’s all we know about the candidates. Personally, I could care less about John McCain…same with Obama. We can only judge them by their voting records and what they support, not what they say…same with all politicians.

Your post from 4:11 PM…C’MON! Bush coined the phrase, “Oh uh uh uh um um uh.” HA!

Southern Farmer   August 18th, 2008 - 9:07 pm

Farg
(So, please give me the very, very good reasons you aren’t voting for Obama. You know, the ones that are beyond me.

I keep hearing the words CHANGE, but for some reason I never hear just what is going to be changed. When I listen to Pelosi, at least she says that she wants to tax the US citizens to death so that she can give the money to the poor undocumented (Illegal) migrants that are just trying to make a living by undercutting all of the labor jobs in the US. Its no longer just agriculture but now is in all the building trades, slaughter houses, grain elevators, loading docks, and no telling what else. Don’t know just when the exporting of jobs began but you can bet your sweet bippy that it was in response to the highter taxes and regulations that were imposed on the corps by the self serving polititi.ons

Gregory Scott   August 18th, 2008 - 9:09 pm

Farg,

Then vote based on their mutual histories…

And I don’t much care for it when Bush stutters, but he can’t hold a candle to Obama.

warren buffet is a joke. he funds abortionists and spends his money overseas. how much did that 56 billion dollar pussboy pay last year in taxes. i guess his “fair share” and mine are different concepts. he is a blatant liberal in every respect…right down to cheating America out of his fair taxes. give it away you dumb old geezer if you think thats right. spend it all on your neo-arab empty suit.

Bill Chicago   August 19th, 2008 - 4:40 pm

Exactly who does he consider “middle class”? My combined family income is in the six figures, and we are still living paycheck to paycheck. We paid almost 20 grand in state and federal taxes last year, and that doesn’t include being nickeled and dimed to death by the state and the city. I work with guys that make 30,000 a year and pay no taxes at all, outside of SS.
How much more of my money does this jerk want?

Gregory Scott   August 19th, 2008 - 11:18 pm

And suggesting the people on here are all rednecks who don’t make that much money! You are embarrassing to the human race, but you think you are very smart and clever. Your name says it all— you claim no responsibility. In other words, you are not a man.
