The truth is that white males control the democrat party. They know how to exploit ignorant blacks and single mothers.

If you watched the Republican debates, both the middle-aged white males on the stage and the makeup of the crowd, Dean’s mistatement was quite accurate.

Republicans see all Americans the same. They should all have opportunities to achieve their own personal manifest destiny free of government intervention. School vouchers, lower taxes, religious freedom, right to self defense, and so on are not just for whites, but for all FREE AMERICANS. Furthermore, it was a Republican that freed the slaves. It was Republicans that passed the Civil Rights Act (phillibustered by Democrats like Al Gore Senior and Robert KKK Byrd).

Democrats like to divide the country anyway they can, through race, gender, sexual orientation, wealth, you name it. Then once they have all the groups divided they can pander to them and offer handouts. Once handouts have been given they can create dependancy and thus secure a voting block. Everything they do is based in gaining votes and transfering power.

People who are self reliant have no use for liberals. Without dependance and percieved misery, Liberals cannot push their agendas.

Also, you made reference to the hurricane Katrina incident. While, I agree more should have been done for the citizens of New Orleans you can’t place all of the blame on the Bush administration. People had warning of the storm’s potential and were advised to evacuate. Some decided to ignore these warnings and tried to weather the storm. Now I am not trying to downplay the signficance of the event or say that the people were deserving of the consequences since they decided to stay. I just feel it is unfair for you to place blame solely on Bush and his administration.
This whole election is doing nothing more than dividing this country. Instead of throwing race into everything, as Howard Dean is obviously trying to do here, the Democrats should be embracing Obama’s character and showing how much he has been able to accomplish as a black American. Race is an issue in this campaign. Why is it when anyone mentions the words “white” or “black”, people start jumping up and down crying foul? Are we all supposed to pretend race is not a major factor in American society, as it is in many multi-cultural societies? We should be mature enough to be able to use these words without emotion. I grew partly in an all-white town (Chapel Hill) and partly in a diverse town (Durham). Chapel Hill was liberal and a very nasty and demeaning place to grow up if you were poor or not like them. I grew up and realized that my socio-economic status should have made me a poster child in the Democratic Party’s eyes. Hmm. * The number of Democratic Party platforms supporting slavery were 6 from 1840-1860.
* The number of Democratic presidents who owned slaves were 7 from 1800-1861
* The number of Democratic Party platforms that either supported segregation outright or were silent on the subject were 20, from 1868-1948.
* The “Jim Crow laws,” were the post-Civil War laws passed enthusiastically by Democrats. These laws segregated public schools, public transportation, restaurants, rest rooms and public places in general. The reason Civil Rights heroine Rosa Parks became famous is that she sat in the front of a “whites only” bus, the “whites only” designation the direct result of Democrats.
* The Ku Klux Klan, which became “a military force serving the interests of the Democratic Party.” The Klan was the “terrorist arm of the Democratic Party.”
* Democrats opposed the Thirteenth, Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments to the Constitution. The Thirteenth banned slavery. The Fourteenth effectively overturned the infamous 1857 Supreme Court Dred Scott decision (made by Democrat pro-slavery Supreme Court justices) by guaranteeing due process and equal protection to former slaves. The Fifteenth gave black Americans the right to vote.
* The fact Democrats opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1866. It was passed by the Republican Congress over the veto of Democratic President Andrew Johnson. The law was designed to provide blacks with the right to own private property, sign contracts, sue and serve as witnesses in a legal proceeding.

* Four Democrat platforms, 1908-1920, that are silent on blacks, segregation, lynching, and voting rights as racial problems in the country mount. By contrast the GOP platforms of those years specifically address “Rights of the Negro” (1908), oppose lynchings (in 1912, 1920, 1924, 192 and, as the New Deal kicks in, speak out about the dangers of making blacks “wards of the state.”
* The DNC-sponsored Democrat Convention of 1924, known to history as the “Klanbake.” The 103-ballot convention was held in Madison Square Garden. Hundreds of delegates were members of the Ku Klux Klan, the Klan so powerful that a plank condemning Klan violence was defeated outright. The only thing the democrats have done, for too many of the black people, is enslave them to the democrat party and the government handouts. The democrats need to keep the blacks beholden to government, ie the democrats. Thankfully, there are many blacks that do not buy into that victimization thinking. If public schools were not, for the most part, so beholden to the teacher’s union and the liberal thought process, more blacks would move into the mainstream and become successful middle class citizens. They are being held back by those that profess to want to help them.

It’s actually “racist” to NOT admit that someone of any race/ethnicity cannot be racist or that racism does not exist in all human groups and kinds. I’ve experienced terrible racism, for example, in Hawaii by the racial/ethnicity mix there (Chinese/Filipino/Polynesian is the most average of those) — sales people won’t help “White” people or else will walk away to go farther from a White person inorder to assist one of their own kind, leaving the White person to wait, will push White kids off sidewalks, beat them up, steal their lunches, etc. in public schools…the racism in Hawaii is rampant in it’s “anti White” racism.

Also Hispanics in the West against same. To their credit, many Blacks are inclusive and friendly toward Whites in the West (outside of inner cities), but in Hawaii, that changes, they become racist and display overt discrimination toward Whites, as the racial-mix in Hawaii does (stares, glares, animosity, the one-finger salute from cars, driving aggressively to harass White drivers, throwing trash at them, etc.).

Most people today who think that “White people” are “racists” are living in a fantasy world and probably are just rationalizing their own racism about White people.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was written by White Republicans who wanted the Blacks of America to have the opportunity to a piece of the American Pie. The original language of the act said that there would be no more discremination for jobs. That would mean that Blacks had the same chance to get a job as Whites and non-Blacks. They would be able to open bank accounts, do legal things like property purchases (buying a house), and start more businesses on their own. We wanted to see them do well and have the things that America promised to everyone. But, noooooo. The Democrats didn’t want the Blacks building wealth like they had. They knew many were poor or at least somewhat poorer that poorer Whites at that time. Democrats hated them to because they were unsophisticated, and ignorant. Whites were kept down just like Blacks in many areas of the South. Rednecks was what they called us, or ignorant biggoted Whites with no education, no ability to obtain property, and unable to move up out of their poverty. Gee, sounds like I was describing a Black. But no, Blacks weren’t the only ones the Civil Rights Act helped. Blacks can’t imagine what it was like for a White person to be discreminated against by your own race, who owned all the businesses, owned all the banks, owned all the property, and ran the schools, hospitals, and also ran the government. I can imagine the freedom that Blacks felt knowing that for the first time in their lives they could go get a job without it being sweeping, or picking up the trash. If they could work on cars they could get a job as a mechanic, etc. Blacks were already living somewhere so they didn’t need housing. They already were getting by well enough to survive day to day so they didn’t need any financial help until they started getting a paycheck the next week. But the Democrats came up with a way to tax the working public and spend millions on things the Blacks really didn’t need before they started getting their first paychecks. While Blacks were living where they were, getting by how they were getting by, their paychecks would be building wealth for them week by week, month by month, year by year. The Civil Rights Act was written so that Blacks could do the same thing that Whites did in order to move out of poverty slowly but surely. But, the Democrats didn’t want Blacks to be able to move out of poverty because Democrats believed that Blacks didn’t deserve to have the same life that Whites had no matter how impoverished some Whites were. Democrats believed that Negros were brought here to be slaves, and that’s all they could ever be. So Democrats came up with a way to keep Blacks from ever finding their way out of the poverty they had been in for generations, and that was Welfare, government funded low income project housing, and food stamps. And the hook? That if they got work they would loose all that. How cruel. How uncaring, and inconsiderate. How racist. If they had left the Act alone, it may have taken awhile for Blacks to get themselves out of their poverty, but so what, it took everyone awhile to get themselves out of poverty. I know people who have been working for over thirty-five years and they’re still in poverty. Some of it has to do with the fact that they lack education, some of it has to do with ignorance, and some of it has to do with the fact that they didn’t have much of a family to help them along while they were working. Blacks have always had big families, and alot of help. That’s how they survived all those years before Welfare. And they helped each other even if they weren’t family, they could get help if they really needed it from members of their own race alot of times more than Whites could. Democrats have been the ones who have kept Blacks down all these long years. Many are not to much better off than they were in 1963. What has caused that? It’s because the Democrats have been united in keeping Blacks beholding to them, and lied to Blacks to keep them ignorant, and told them that it was the Republicans who wanted them back on the plantation. It was White plantation owners who offered BOTH poor Whites and poor Blacks a small parcel of land after the War Between the States to work. These people were called “share croppers”. They worked their own parcel of land, kept everything they needed to feed their own families, and could sell the rest at the market. Part of the money they paid the plantation owner for the land to work towards buying the land so one day they would have the land for their own. This was the dream for thousands and thousands of poor in the South after the war. This is where many of the large farms came from that are owned by White families. But, is Obama going to repeal the amendments in the Civil Rights Act that have held Black people back since 1963 so that Black can finally have the chance to build wealth without government “help”? I doubt it. If anything he plans on seeing to it that White people become the poor, and put us back where he believes we should be because of all the harm that we’ve done to Blacks all these years. No, they plan on making sure there aren’t any Whites left that could tell Black people the truth about what Democrats have done and are planning on doing to them to see to it that Blacks don’t ever become the productive citizens that they deserve to be.

To all my brothers, vote out anyone who is white this election regardless of party affiliation, only then will we break apart this racist white power structure, even the Democrats are racist too, they just hide it. That dumb white bi^&ch Hillary Clinton will do anything to throw Barack under the bus. We won’t be a just society until this is accomplished.

Democrats largely view Blacks as a large voting block to be otherwise ignored.

I have to wonder if anybody remembers that it was the Democrats that refused to let Black’s vote. It was the Republican Party that allowed people to vote!

Most true racist’s I have met in life have been Democrats.

From 1865 to 1965 the Dem party blocked every civil rights initiative. They established Jim Crow laws, lynch laws, and segregation in every southern state. The watchword of the democrats was that they would vote for a yellow dog before they would vote for a black man. (This is where the term ‘Yellow Dog Democrat’ originated.) They worked with (and most were part of) the KKK to spread terror and lynch thousands of blacks. More Repub senators voted for LBJ’s 1964 civil rights act (written by Sen. Everett Dirksen, R-IL) than did Dem senators. The Dems (including Sen. Al Gore Sr., D-TN) filibustered the bill…Senator Byrd (the so-called Conscience of the Senate) alone spoke for over 14 hours trying to kill the bill. President JFK and his Atty General brother RFK had the FBI wire tap MLK because they thought he was a communist. JFK and the Dems opposed Republican MLK’s march on Washington, which was organized by black republican A. Philip Randolph. All of MLK’s confrontations were with Dem governors, Dem police chiefs, etc. The welfare legislation in LBJ’s War on Poverty has all but destroyed the family structure of the poor.
All of this is factual history. The most important fact is that the sorry history of racism in this country is the history of the Democrat Party.

Historically, the Democrats have had a sordid history with racism and I believe that Bill Clinton is a sell-out. However, the Republican party has systematically dismantled every good thing about Government in order to undermine the government. This does two things; A. The American people lose their trust in the government so they look to B. the private sector (or business), which the Republican party supports and is supported by. It has been my experience that Republicans are more friendly, caring, generous, kind-hearted, sensitive and interested in truly helping people improve their lives. Democrats however come across as rude, nasty, unfriendly, arrogant, selfish, judgemental and are only interested in how their associations with other people can help their self-interests. I don’t know how true this is but I have been told that some investigators (reporters for a magazine) have evidence in the form of discarded trash from the room that Edwards and his lover shared with the newborn. They said two people were paid big money for the trash (including dirty diapers, cups and glasses) and that DNA paternety tests will be done on the trash. Let’s review, shall we?

Democrats: The party of slavery. The party of Jim Crow laws. The party of segregation. The party of poll taxes. The party of the Klu Klux Klan. The party of state-sponsored slavery, i.e. welfare, unions, single-payer (government) healthcare, etc.

Republicans: The party of Lincoln. (They ended slavery, remember?) The party of individual liberty.

Why is it Democrats feel compelled to attempt to revise history? Perhaps it is because they are ashamed of their past? Doubtful. YOu have to have a conscience to feel shame. I’ll wager it’s pure lust for political power — and it’s wearing thin on the American people.

Last nights debate.

Obama with out his teleprompters or 30 minute polished speeches showed to be a junior senator who need another 10 years of seasoning. His cool approach couldn’t help him as he side step questions so not to anger his far left voting block. McCain was on point and you know were he stands. We need more of these debates and great job getting away from the usual boring questions you hear every election year asked by the same lame so called journalist rooting for the liberal.

Michael Phelps is the greatest Olympic athlete of all modern times! The America haters and special people (leftists-PROGS) will not be silent! I have a solution- lets institute some sort of affirmative action and require %50 of all government branches to be women, and the appropriate % of blacks, hispanics, aisians, etc. We just wont allow any white boys to run until we’ve fixed the discrepancy! Face it Dean, BOTH parties are “wealthy white boys club”s. Dont start bragging because you have a black democrat.

You know, I think we ought to assign each house and senate member a committee of their ’superiors’ made up of randomly selected jurors (who have recently served) from their district.

I wish I could improve on the outstanding commentary above but everyone else has already captured it so well. The Democrat Party is controlled by a bunch of wealthy white men and the Party’s history in dealing with minorities going back to the Civil War is dismal. Anyone who studies the history will understand that it has been the Republicans who have fought to create freedom and opportunity for all. I’m sure the Democrats think they are inclusive – just as long as inclusiveness means that the leaders keep their power and that the minorities remain where the belong – as begging serfs of the DNC and Washington.

I have been a white southern democrat all my life, but, the Democratic Party does not support my values, and, I certainly do not condone the convenient racism proposed by these liberals. If the Democrat Party has become the Socialist Party wearing a thin disguise (which they clearly have), then Howard Dean is a perfect representative for them. The only self-admitted and proclaimed socialist in the US Congress is from Vermont, Dean’s home state, and Howard supports him 100%. Racist rhetoric is only one facet of the American Socialist agenda. When you vote two months from now, and please do, keep in mind that especially your presidential vote is not a choice between individuals, it’s a choice between ideologies. If you haven’t already, please consider this and educate yourself before you cast that vote.

To say that the GOP is the white party is both offensive and incorrect. My husband is a naturalized US citizen born and raised in India.

He is also a member of the GOP (not that he’s happy with what the GOP has done lately. He’s more “old school” GOP) and a VERY proud American (note the lack of hyphenated-American. He does not and will never refer to himself as Indian-American or American of Indian origin. And he would never ever allow anyone–in his presence–to refer to him as such. He is an AMERICAN. End of story.)

He believes in the American dream: Hard work, self-reliance, pursuing one’s own happiness, merit based accomplishment. He has NEVER taken a cent of taxpayer money. As a student he refused to apply for scholarships based on his ethnicity (he thinks MERIT should matter more than any other factor)

He has met countless Democrats who have tried to put him in a box because of his skin color or his ethnicity or both (or worse accused him of being a traitor or brainwashed): He doesn’t talk like Apu from the Simpsons; he doesn’t work in medicine, IT, or as an engineer; he didn’t marry someone from the “old country” in an arranged marriage.

He has chosen his own path to happiness and worked for it (what could be more American than that?)

Those on “his” side of politics have never ONCE tried to put him in a box. They accept who he is and treat him as a PERSON not as an exotic statistic whose individuality is second to his skin color and ethnicity.

Of course, blacks supported the GOP in the old days. The most racist folks in this country were southern democrats. Republicans were considered liberal northerners, while the South was solidly conservative democrat. Then things changed dramatically in the 50s and 60s. LBJ pushed for civil rights legislation, angering southern conservatives along the way (dems and dixiecrats).
The result? Them racist southerners flocked to the desperate Republican party, which was in disarray after LBJ won the 1964 election in a landslide over the segregationist Republican Barry Goldwater.Is it a coincidence that Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina and other southern states became republican for the first time ever in the 1960s and have remained so? In 1964, Mississippi went from solid democrat to 86% republican in ONE election cycle! Think it had something to do with the Civil Rights movement? LOL

Rice and Powell were appointed mediocre TOKENS to give an impression of inclusion (Powell) or because of friendship with the Bush clan (Rice)… At least the powerless Colin Powell had the decency to leave that sorry administration early.

The GOP seized to be the party of Lincoln in the 60s and became a Goldwater/Thurmond/ Helms/Falwell/Duke/Limbaugh/Reagan/Bush diaspora. Why would blacks associate themselves with these kinds of people? Do you honestly believe that a man like Rockefeller would still feel at home in the current GOP? This is the party of Jefferson Davis, not Lincoln.

The funniest thing is seeing Republicans mentioning MLK in their bigoted arguments. A man conservatives DESPISED when he was alive (especially William Buckley, J Edgar Hoover, Reagan, Helms, Duke and others) but now that he’s safely dead they’re trying to claim him. Sorry but you’re not fooling anyone.

To understand the mistrust of the Republican party by Democrats one need examine the political history of the US between 1930’s through 70’s. The party was used and infiltrated by large numbers of political and ‘religious’ entities whose agenda was one of racism & anti-semitism: white privilege & entitlement. This agenda carries through to today, sometimes unwittingly, within the group considered: the far right. Sadly, the taint from everything they’ve touched alarms many Democrats, even when they can’t put a name to it, and the many great causes furthered by the Republican Party throughout it’s history are overlooked, or forgotten.
