Poor guy. He’ll never lift weights again.

JN   August 13th, 2008 - 3:16 pm

I didnt even know that was possible.

OUCH!

Sean   August 13th, 2008 - 3:34 pm

Life comes at you fast.

Godless   August 13th, 2008 - 3:34 pm

Ruined at such a early age. It is terrible to loose your niche. From what I read he should had try to hold it as it was bad from the start…so much pressure from everyone im sure it crossed his mind but he didnt think this would happen. Bones grow back stronger right…??

jbh50   August 13th, 2008 - 4:32 pm

Man, if that happened to me it would certainly put a dent in my beer drinking.

Bonobo   August 13th, 2008 - 4:35 pm

Boy, that makes my abs go tight. Horrible. The commentators were very quick and capable, and seemed to be certain it was a dislocation. Do any bones have to break for this to happen, or how much tearing happens with tendons? Once it’s happened does it continue to pop out over and over? May some good come from this seeming tragedy.

Stressed   August 13th, 2008 - 5:02 pm

The Olympics are sooo yesterday. They leave a huge carbon footprint and a majority of people leave disappointed due to the lies of competition. There are more that lose than win and that is the problem.

The olympics should just fade away. Competition causes stress.

Jim in SE Texas   August 13th, 2008 - 5:25 pm

My reaction was ARRRRRGGHHHHHH!!

This young guy probably worked half his life to get there, and for it to end like this was just awful.

Here’s hoping and praying for a speedy recovery and success in whatever the rest of his life brings him.

So Over Stressed   August 13th, 2008 - 5:41 pm

Stressed: you’re from the generation who as a youth played sports where no one kept score, right? Either that or you were always picked last.

Why not get you fat carbon a$$ off the couch and shut your pie hole. Plenty of people enjoy driving their SUV’s to the nearest sports bar to watch the Olympics.

Brain Stress Fracture   August 13th, 2008 - 5:57 pm

Stressed: Yes, we should eliminate all competition from these young adult lives. That will prepare them well for their careers where there is no competition. Get real. No matter the endeavor, there is a winner and a loser. Competition determines which you are. No need to ask which file to place you in. Enjoy living at home with mom. BTW, Obama is the antichrist…oh, but air up your tires.

OWIE   August 13th, 2008 - 6:35 pm

ow, ow, OW!
I know a guy who ruptured a disk lifting weights.
It is a dangerous sport.

JC   August 13th, 2008 - 7:20 pm

Ouch!!

Fortunately it was a simple dislocation and they popped it right back in. He will certainly be out for the rest of the games and maybe up to a year depending on ligament damage and how long it takes to rehabilitate that. But he’s gonna be fine.

But it sure makes one think twice about picking up that beer can! =:O

Bobo   August 13th, 2008 - 7:39 pm

Stressed, you’re an idiot. Further discussion would be over your head so I’ll stop there.

Stressed   August 13th, 2008 - 8:51 pm

Sooo judgmental and intolerant. I bet you produce a huge carbon footprint and don’t even care. You will have trouble adapting to our new world.

How would you like to be the next weightlifter? Talk about a psych! And Mickey, it’s not BEER or DONUTS, it’s BEER AND DONUTS. You need both arms.

dr jay   August 13th, 2008 - 11:46 pm

its just a flesh wound.
hey stressed…lets make sure our nations boys keep getting sissyfied and feminized. no winners/no losers….only trophies and hugs.
i just started son number 3 in pop warner(age 567)because there are winners and losers in everything.
elbow dislocations…ouch…at least he tried to the max.

Brent_e   August 14th, 2008 - 2:23 am

Stressed what is this Obama-Powell ‘08? Colin Powell would not even talk to a racist anti american Muslim like Obama. BTW we need to get rid of stupid things like Carbon Footprints. Grow some balls.

Muffinsauce   August 14th, 2008 - 3:18 am

Poor guy…that is so horrible. Can you imagine?? During the Olympics, the highlight of his career…his career is ruined, along with his right arm.

Stressed- You make Obama supporters look bad. You are out of touch with reality, and are a disgrace to America. Plus, you are obviously immature, perhaps under the voting age, which would also explain your silly enthusiasm.

TawniXXX   August 14th, 2008 - 1:34 pm

Why does it seem that the most exertion Stressed encounters is stretching his fingers at the keyboard? There is tremendous physical and psychological benefit to athletic competition…perhaps this is why it has endured, around the world, for more than 3,000 years!!!! If we were to follow your advice, our nation would be built of jelly-bellied, mush-minded sheep with no individual drive, desire or ability…and Wow, I’m sure if that were the case, competing nations would never think of inviting themselves in for a hostile takeover, now would they? You and Obama can kiss my religion-clinging, gun-toting, sports-loving glutes!!!
