Stop Global Whining!!

31,072 American Scientists agree. The debate is over – Man-made global warming is a scam.

Rover   July 14th, 2008 - 2:59 pm

I was just at the post office and they have a TV there tuned to the news to entertain the folks standing in line. Bush was giving his oil drilling speech. You could just see and feel the shear hatred and anger in the whole place! This was even the post office in the Republican side of town. I am not sure if it was the drilling thing or just Bush. But the mood of the crowd towards the Bush speech was NOT kind.

Now o’l Rover obviously has an attitude, but I was fairly surprised and the visceral reaction of a fairly large group of random people just at the sight of Bush!! It was sort of spooky!

Polls may show bush at 30% or what ever, but the disapproval runs VERY deep!!

The legacy Bush is leaving McCain to run after is like a mine field. It will be interesting to see How McCain handles this oil drilling bomb Bush has handed his campaign.

Alexander   July 14th, 2008 - 3:12 pm

The last commenter must be living in a Democrat
controlled state. People here in Georgia cheered
when they Heard Bush’s Speech lifting the executive order to allow drilling. Now, lets
hope the Democrat controlled congress will get
off their rears and allow the American People to become energy independent.

To all you left wing tree huggers out there…
Why don’t you move to Iran?

Soldado Americano   July 14th, 2008 - 3:18 pm

Rover,
The presidency is not a popularity contest.

A president takes action. To bad if the average sheeple doesnt like it. Its whats good for America that matters.

Bush’s problem is that this is to little to late.

Sean   July 14th, 2008 - 4:00 pm

Pelosi already threw the first salvo against it. It wont come to a vote in the House.

Dark Rider   July 14th, 2008 - 4:12 pm

I voted for Bush the first time, didn’t vote the second.

But I’d ask, “Rover, what would you have him do?”

The only ratings lower than Bush’s are the Congress’s… Dumbocrat and Repugnancan. That’s because all the people we elect don’t get hurt the way we do when they mishandle everything.

Look at this years original lineup. McCain, Clinton and Obama. Last time we had to choose between Bush and Kerry, the time before that Bush and Algore.

The parties seem to scrape the barrel in deciding who will be president.

But, with the country almost 50 percent divided, at least we have the satisfaction each election of knowing that half of us were right in not voting for the buffoon in office.

OilSnakes   July 14th, 2008 - 4:35 pm

More grounds for impeachment. Oil is evil and must be eradicated from the planet! Get rid of all oil!

President Obama, hurry, we need you!

Sean   July 14th, 2008 - 4:37 pm

The price of oil will go down immediately after the nexy drill is fired up.

SteveF   July 14th, 2008 - 4:41 pm

Good for Bush! Better LATE that NEVER. Of course Nancy pelsoigalore says we do not wnat LOWER prices for the public, we Dems KNOW better, our Enviro backers want NO drilling so we will not Drill! Thank you Pelosigalore! Just because they have a certain amount of land to explore does not mean there is OIL under that land. Fool Pelosigalore!

Anonymous   July 14th, 2008 - 4:46 pm

Yes! Finally some common sense. Drill here, drill now!

JackS   July 14th, 2008 - 5:04 pm

Good move for Bush. Obviously his Saudi sucking family was keeping American oil off the market so we could send more petro dollars to his oil sheik friends of the family in Saudi Arabia.

This move, however symbolic and impotent it is now puts the hot potato in the Democrats lap. It will show they are not interested in reducing the price of gasoline or increasing supplies here or building more refineries or nuclear plants but just the opposite. They would prefer more taxes on it to raise the price even more as stated in many publications. And they will oppose as the have for 40 years more refineries and nuke power plants. Their only criticism of the gas situation is that the price should not rise this fast.

The Democrats will handle this the same way Clinton handled the black-on-black genocide in South Africa after the darling of the left, Nelson Mandela, came to power: they will wait until it is too late to do anything that might have helped and the economy is all but destroyed. The Democrats who claim to be the champion of the little man and working class in America are sticking it to them most of all. And if they put “windfall” taxes on the big oil companies who is going to get that? Not the consumer. That would be a good question for the 500 lawyers in congress that have run the country into the ground.

Sue   July 14th, 2008 - 5:17 pm

I feel like it’s Christmas! Christmas in July!!!! God made oil. So it is good!!!!

jbh50   July 14th, 2008 - 5:32 pm

Rover, a republican side of town in San Fran? Give me a frick’n break!

Clarity   July 14th, 2008 - 6:30 pm

10% of US oil production is EXPORTED TO ASIA. Why doesn’t Bush stop this? During the 6 years Bush had a Republican controlled Congress, nothing was done when gas prices doubled. Now they’ve doubled again 2 years later under a Democratic Congress. Choose your poison, they’re all corrupt money grubbing buggers. Why can’t they stop out of control speculation and the eroding value of the dollar? But why should they look out for us, we the people? They’re only paying back their financial backers, buddies and lobbyists. We no longer have any representation in government and we are all screwed as long as we rely on oil. There could be a trillion barrels of oil under this county and oil prices would still never decrease to what they were a year ago.

Rover   July 14th, 2008 - 6:35 pm

Oh great this is going to speed up global warming 3 fold. Hopefully Al Gore and our progressive intellectuals will step up and enlighten the leadership. Why Bush hates our mother earth is unknown to me. I live in the SF area and we have all ready had some days well into the 80’s and 90’s. Just look at all the global warming fires we have in Ca. People can’t breathe becasue of all the smoke and soot in the air. Yes poeple are dying from our global warming crisis and all this bush guy wants to do is make it worse by drilling for oil.

Save Us
Obama 08

dswilli   July 14th, 2008 - 6:53 pm

Only the illiterate blame Bush for oil prices. The true blame lies with (in this order) 1)Oil speculators 2)Congress 3)Opec 4)morons voting Democrat 5)oil companies

Gringo   July 14th, 2008 - 6:58 pm

“Al Gore and our progressive intellectuals” now that’s an oxymoron if I’ve ever heard one. Gore probably forgets to wipe his as s half the time.

jbh50   July 14th, 2008 - 7:22 pm

Rover, mother nature hates mother nature. The fires were started by lightning strikes. The amount of oil naturally seeping through the sand off Santa Barbara coast is sickening (near Carpinteria SB). I am tired of replacing $45 board shorts that always get tar/oil stains from the surf. The coast line is so full of petro we need to drill just to protect the marine!

…marine life!

Rover   July 14th, 2008 - 7:56 pm

@jbh50

Note that there are two “Rovers” here… I think one of the SoCal’s fakes me at times too…

I am the die hard oversized ultra liberal gun toting Republican hater democrat Obama supporting engineer who studies things in detail and comes up with obnoxious and usually lengthly comments. The other is a San Francisco ice cream shop owner who I almost always agree with. ;) But his post are far shorter and signed with “Obama 08″.

I just wanted to mention that since you were one of the last to figure out that the names here can be used by anyone on the planet if they wish. Usually, this Rover stands out a bit :D

You seem to be one of the true thinkers here and I like that :D But I felt I should help you on this point, just like I “help” McCain now and then :D

BTW – You pay far too much for your shorts… When Rover (this one) jumps in the water. Everyone starts cracking jokes about tsunami alerts :P

m-antony   July 14th, 2008 - 8:11 pm

Nancy, big oil Bush? You are a retard. Harry Reid, you make us all sick. Al Gore, go smoke another one. Howard Dean, yeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssss!Schumer, please, do not say anything else. What, was Dodd giving you banking advice? No VIP club ? You libs sure got yourselves a troop there.

jbh50   July 14th, 2008 - 8:21 pm

Ok, you must be the “self absorbed” Rover who writes the boring posts. I rarely would respond to your posts because they put me to sleep. I was responding to the “gay” Rover from SF who made the post at 6:35 PM. Its the one signed “Save Us Obama”.

I know, I know, sorry I didn’t include a picture with my post making it easier for you liberals to understand.

Getta Clue   July 14th, 2008 - 9:27 pm

“The only thing standing between the American people and these vast oil resources is action from the U.S. Congress.”

Yes, the vast oil resources will be exploited at last. But notice he did not mention anything about the price of gas going down!

That was never part of plan anyway. Hey – why sell it for cheap when the stuff is worth even more now!? Even a Texas cowboy knows that much!

Rover   July 14th, 2008 - 11:51 pm

@asshole rover

“lick this……..”

No problem at all you sub-human retarded brainless idiot :D

95% here could have “thought out” a better response than “you did”… And do realize, that this is the garbage can of humanity…

LOL…

Hahahhahahaaaa!!

You can’t even manage to pick a good fight with the dog Rover any more.. :D

Rover   July 15th, 2008 - 12:21 am

I note that Bart “throttled” ‘asshole rover’’s comments… But I repeated his “full comment” anyway…

:D

Just wanted to let you all know that you were not “missing” anything :D

SiliconDoc   July 15th, 2008 - 12:26 am

Hate at the post office the liberal democrat could feel ? lol Sometimes people project their own feelings, it’s a problem to say the least.
87% , a full 13% short of sane at this late date say drill and drill everywhere.
Just like the border issues and the Dubai ports, Congress is so far, as well as the President, from “the American People” ( obviously separate from all of them as they often put it – or they’ed say “us” or “we” ) they haven’t got a clue.
If they do it’s always second fiddle to ling their own pockets, and their big business pockets in their own special interest districts.
I guess OIL stocks are so important to all of them they canot let the price drop. They’re ALL making a killing, not “evil oil companies profits” – it’s ALL in the markets you 401k retirement investment lawyers of Congress.
So, the question is, how many years of wallet torture are you ALL willing to inflict on the We the People while YOU continue to get richer and richer ?
Yeah, Bush you finally did the right thing, 7 years LATE. Shame on you anyway.
