US Commanders In Iraq See Dangers In Obama Plan For Withdrawal
"We still have a ways to go. Number one, we're working on security and it's very encouraging, that's true, but what we're really trying to achieve here is sustainable security on Iraqi terms. So, I think my first response to that would be let's look at the conditions."
He can always replace commanders with ones who see things his way.
How do you think Clark got his job in Kosovo?
Cognitive DissidentJuly 11th, 2008 - 2:15 pm
Sean,
That is true. How do you think Patraus just got where he is?
Fairly speaking, he is good commander, and we sure as heck needed one in Iraq. At the same time, I recall a certain Op Ed piece he contributed to the New York Times on the eve of the 04 election.
Patraus is definitely “in Bush’s camp”.

You dont get to be a top 4-star with affiliations.
Colon Powell for example

Replace the commanders. They are required to follow President Obama’s orders, NOW. Obama has promised that the pull out will begin the first day he is in office and be completed within 16 weeks. Obama promised! It is done and unconditional. Obama is all about unconditional action, negotiations, pull-out, and love.
Obama will end this unjust war in January 2009. No more terrorism and more cash available to care for the people.
Obama loves us unconditionally.

BTW,
All you libs who said we did not find any WMD’s.
OPPPPsssss.
550 tons of “yellow cake” uranium was just taken out of Iraq.
hmmmmmmmm.. Who was that clown that said there was no yellow cake?
And further more, WAR means killing more of your enemy until they quit than they kill of your people.
You libs hate war, but look at it this way. If we did nothing, we would be evenually taken over by Facists, socialists, Dictator’s etc.(take your pick). Who would impose their will on you and like Sadam Hussien, “KILL YOU” , if you disaggree with them.
I am conservative and will continue to fight in wars and need be, kill, to maintain freedom for ALL men and women. Whether they aggree with me or not.
That, is what is called “BEING AN AMERICAN”
UnconditionalJuly 11th, 2008 - 3:20 pm
I’d bet that Bush planted the yellow cake in Iraq.
m-antony,
Why so judgmental and intolerant? You will be needing a speech permit in 2009. And, a carbon footprint registration stamp for your SUV. Deal…….
m-antonyJuly 11th, 2008 - 3:28 pm
My speech permit will be because, your love voted for the passing of FISA.That is the only thing he has done right. He is running as a republican to get elected. I am not intolerant, just think your post ,in the love of obama ,means you are a wacko. All you libtards are up in the air about FISA, be nice and you do not have anything to worry about. The government does not give a damn about idle rambling, now if you are a terrorist , maybe a eco one in your case . I could see you being a bit nervous. Watch out for the dick

Oh YES the Messiah Obama has spoken,,and “the war ENDS”, this Empty Suit, Obama is very DANGEROUS! He has NO idea what he is doing! Just a bunch of scripts written for him and ALOT of OPRAH “feel good & you will be good” thought. Of course you have to throw in his 20 year “relationship” “mentor” the Racist Rev. Wright. If it took him 20 years to realize Wright was bad..why will his JUDGEMENT as President be any better? Answer..IT WON’T be MOVE-ON OBAMA! NOW! Back to the “community organizing, you did so well! Right!

“All you libs who said we did not find any WMD’s.
550 tons of “yellow cake†uranium was just taken out of Iraq.”
You fear mongering propagandists… “Yellow cake” is simply refined uranium ore:
“You” can buy it on the open market just like any country on Earth can. Before 9/11 you could buy it on ebay. Everyone (US, UN, etc.) knew full well they had it long before the war but didn’t care since without special processing it is about as useless as sand. We left it there for 5 years because it did not matter. Saddam bought it but could never find anything to use it for. He got ripped off. Now its removal seems nothing more that a publicity stunt to try and show WMD to those retarded enough not to know the true facts.
But what is really disturbing is to see people thinking they are “BEING AN AMERICAN†by spreading lies like you. I don’t know what you are trying to prove unless you are a modern day Don Quixote.
You said:
“And further more, WAR means killing more of your enemy until they quit than they kill of your people.”
We killed 1,100,000 north Vietnamese and guess who won… They did… “If” you study why wars are won or lost, you will find that it is complex and depends on many factors…
You said:
“I am conservative and will continue to fight in wars and need be, kill, to maintain freedom for ALL men and women. Whether they aggree with me or not.”
No sir, you are a deluded moron that cannot think critically. Warfare is a business for those that are very well educated, trained, and can think deeply about the actions they take. People like you blindly do things and make mistakes. Your the type that looses wars…
While “your” worrying about that 550 tons of ore, will you loose track of 350 tons of high explosives (195 metric tons of HMX and 141 metric tons of RDX):
Those explosives have killed many people, like US troops, while your yellow cake has not and really cannot hurt anyone unless you physically drop it on them…
So agile, before you go around proposing ways to get the rest of us killed for no reason, try and depend on the truth and a little “thought” first…

Obama now says he want to go to Iraq and then, reassess his position. But, he can not change his mind now, because McCain told him, he would change his mind after a trip to Iraq.
Mission AccomplishedJuly 11th, 2008 - 7:04 pm
“It’s not until the mission is done that I can look my leader in the eye and say sir/ma’am, mssion accomplished.”
I seem to recall his commander in chief already declared “mission accomplished.”
Ignoring the fact that his commander-in-chief is a moron, he considers it dangerous to leave before the mission is complete. To me, that says, it is dangerous to the mission. In other words, the political goals determined by the administration are in danger if we leave before certain conditions are met. The danger is not to the troops, or even necessarily the Iraqi people, it is to the political agenda. Currently the agenda seems to revolve around getting as much oil out of Iraq as possible. So we return to the same issue we had under Daddy Bush, is blood for oil a fair exchange? Obviously, with the cost of oil rising (artificially) the value of our soldiers is diminishing, politically speaking.

That, is what is called “BEING AN AMERICAN—
A) you have no right to define “being an American”
B) You are correct, if we did nothing we would, in all likelihood, eventually be taken over. However, by weakening our defensive position, fighting wars which do little to with national defense, we leave ourselves more vulnerable to attack. And by bankrupting our nation, we become so heavily indebted to nations like China, that we have merely sold our country, rather than lost it in an honorable fight. I have no problem with going to war, if it is for a just cause. Out CiC sold us an unjust war on false pretenses. He is our representative, yet he does not represent us. This man is no prophet, his office does not make him correct.
Cognitive DissidentJuly 11th, 2008 - 7:18 pm
Obama is Pro-defense.
Smart defense like Afganistan (you know, the country where the guys that caused 9/11 are?)
Just not dummy-defense like Iraq.
TubbyJuly 11th, 2008 - 8:52 pm
I say we stay in Iraq as long as possible and keep killing Al Qeada and Iranians while at the same time assisting the Iraqi people with the work of defending themselves and stabilizing thier young representative government.
Obama can kiss my a$$ in a rowboat and I’ll give him 15 minutes to draw a crowd.

Landslide in January. Obama will dominate and rule every corner of the government. It’s over for the republicans. It is time to pursue our quest for utopia. It is time. The ONE has arrived.
Finally, all will be equal. All needs will be met. We will be united in our communal nation. Obama, our fair and just one.
McCain is no longer even making an effort. It is of no use. Obama will end the war and end global warming.
Viva Obama!

Republicans supporting Obama: Doug Kmiec, a senior adviser to Romney’s presidential bid; Susan Eisenhower, granddaughter of Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, business consultant and author; Major General Walter Stewart (”I think there is a general feeling in the military that this war in Iraq has been a catastrophe.”); Tom Bernstein, who went to Yale University with Bush and co-owned the Texas Rangers baseball team with him and who contributed the maximum to Bus in 2004; John Martin, a Navy reservist who joined the military after the Iraq invasion war and is about to be deployed to Afghanistan. (“I disagree with Obama on the war but I don’t think it is a test of his patriotism,†Martin says. “Obama has a message of hope for the country.†); John Canning, a “Bush pioneer†and investment banker who pledged to raise $100,000 for the president in 2004 but how now says, “I know lots of my friends in this business are disenchanted and are definitely looking for something different”; and many more
And how about this? Obama has received has received more money in contributions from military personnel than any other candidate, Republican or Democratic. (http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=3601542 )
The donation patterns “would suggest that those who wear the uniform want change,” said Joe Davis, spokesman for the Veterans of Foreign Wars.”
Or how about about-to-be forced-out Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Michael Mullen, whose position on Iran is the same as Obama’s?
Loyalty is great but not as great as wanting to do the best for your country.

“Unconditional” don’t you have homework to do for summer school? Your attempts at satirizing the Democratic position are very good if you are in about 5th grade, no so good if you are a bit older and pitiful if you are over 15.
Don’t conservatives have anyone who can do satire effectively? Or say something truly witty once in a while? There is plenty wrong with the Democratic Party and its nominee but posting something stupid is simply posting something stupid.

When we’re spending 341 million dollars a DAY in Iraq and Afghanistan and kids here in the United States are having trouble getting loans now to go to college – I say pull the troops out… IMMEDIATELY.
Pull the troops out, pull out Halliburton/KBR and the Backwater goons and send in low-bid civilian contractors to rebuild the countries we’ve completely destroyed.
I think that would do more to repair relations with the middle east, which we’ve terrorized and obliterated, than anything else.
