“Must be she has a bill to pass and needs the face time”

probably. but given how politics always is, I’d say your comment is “beside the point”.

Sean   July 8th, 2008 - 4:06 pm

agreed

Hey, Senator Botox:

The idea that human activity is causing any significant climate change is a thoroughly unproven ideology which could crush our economy.

–More than 31,000 scientists across the U.S. – including more than 9,000 Ph.D.s in fields such as atmospheric science, climatology, Earth science, environment and dozens of other specialties – have signed a petition rejecting “global warming,” the assumption that the human production of greenhouse gases is damaging Earth’s climate.

“There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate,” the petition states. “Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth.”–

Dear Sen Boxer, you and your Congress members only have a 9% approval rating.

9% approval rating madam…put that in your botox and shoot it into your wrinkles!

Nothing more need be said.

Fed Up   July 8th, 2008 - 5:27 pm

Why is it when anyone related in any way to the Democratic Party, then “Global Warming” isn’t real? Global Warming has been a scientific fact since the 70’s, Carl. It isn’t Partisan. Smog doesn’t doesn’t care how you vote. Glacier melt-rates won’t change based on who is in the White House in November. Polar Bears are dying at an alarming rate, perma-frost is melting in Siberia expodentially on a daily basis (No Dems there!). Why does this have to be Political?
Many, many people from the EPA have come forward and stated that they weren’t allowed to point out problems that they found, per orders of the Prez. This is not new on any level.

dave   July 8th, 2008 - 5:28 pm

the cause of global warming? mabey the 600,000 acres burning in your backyard. we all see how well california is doing. dumbasses……………..

Craig Allen   July 8th, 2008 - 5:48 pm

No FED UP, in the 70’s ya’ll were crying that the FREEZE was coming.

LOOK IT UP!!

By the way, DUMB-O-CRATS have you noticed that since you started ‘marrying’ queers, yer state has been burning

:O)

Tubby   July 8th, 2008 - 6:05 pm

The lefty lairs say global warming is causing the sea levels to rise. Where? Why are sea levels the same then? I went to a beach I have not been to in 25 years, guess what, the sea level was exatally in the in the same place. Explain pointy headed lefty, explain.

moronpolitics   July 8th, 2008 - 6:23 pm

There is no global warming. The earth has been cooling for the last ten years. If the earth did warm a couple of degrees it would be the greatest economic boon ever. Imagine being able to farm Canada and Greenland and Siberia like the American Midwest. Imagine taking a boat from northern canada to russia in 15 hours. Look at Hudson Bay and imagine it surrounded with cities and towns. All that mineral wealth easily accessible. Imagine trackless forests and farms all across Greenland like in 1100 A.D. There are farmhouses and barns underneath the glacier for anyone who wants to look and THE POLAR BEARS DID NOT DIE.

MikeC   July 8th, 2008 - 6:28 pm

Dear Fed Up; do you have a reference for “polar bears dying at an alarming rate?”

N Waff   July 8th, 2008 - 7:01 pm

From 1940s to 1970 the earth was in a cooling cycle, leading Newsweek magazine to publish an article warning about the upcoming “Global Cooling.” To quote the opening sentence “There are ominous signs that the Earth’s weather patterns have begun to change dramatically and that these changes may portend a drastic decline in food production – with serious political implications for just about every nation on Earth.” What human activity caused it? Where is the serious implications?

Today, Mars and Jupiter are experiencing a warming trend. What human activity is causing it?

jbh50   July 8th, 2008 - 7:02 pm

MikeC, you took the words right out of my mouth. But, I wouldn’t bother wasting much energy on Fedup. He is part of the BO party that hates America. They just throw sh## against the wall and see what sticks.

Facts? You’ll never get facts….

N Waff   July 8th, 2008 - 7:08 pm

And I heard nothing about a “COVER UP.” It sound like the speculation about the “serious implications” was removed. Clearly this EPA guy falls on the side of Al Gore, that the conclusions are unanimous, even though tens of thousands of scientists disagree http://www.petitionproject.org/ .

Jim   July 8th, 2008 - 8:43 pm

Well I don’t believe we are in a crisis on the globe either.

BUT I think history will Judge the senator as a lame leader. 9% wow!

Dan Collins   July 8th, 2008 - 8:47 pm

All this time wasted on terrorism, when the real threat was hydrocarbons all along.

adelyn   July 8th, 2008 - 9:35 pm

Hey FED UP – You are a dumb!!!!

In the 70’s they thought the world was freezing not warming. They also said there would be no oil left by the year 2000.

Can you actually think for yourself? Then answer this, if humans are the reason for global warming then why is Mars going through global warming? They recently announced that Jupiter is also in a global warming phase. If we are the cause of global warming then who did what to cause the ice age? Here’s a thought for you – perhaps it’s because of natural evolution? Duh…..the earth rotates, it also rotates around the sun. With each rotation there is change, things grow, things die. We have seasons, the earth cools, the earth warms, blah blah blah!

Charlotte, NC just had a record cold day last week. The northeast is having a very cool summer, some other state (forget which) recently had snow in June.

Quit listening to the brainwashing democrats! All they want to do is scare the people so they can drive the cost of gas up so damn high and blame it on Bush. It’s because of the democrats that gas is so high. If we could drill for oil in the US we wouldn’t have to buy it from the Middle East! But no, then liberal won’t let us drill, meanwhile China is off our coast drilling.

dswilli   July 8th, 2008 - 10:52 pm

Yo Fed Up, global warming is bull s*it. I can put it anymore plainly. The US is not going to wreck our economy in order to pacify Socialist Euros. If global warming is such a pressing problem why are China and Russia exempted from agreements/treaties?
I’ll tell you why it’s a way to separate US taxpayers from their money. God help us if BHO wins the White House, he’s quite stupid enough to sign Kyoto.

Mac-101   July 8th, 2008 - 11:01 pm

NWaff and adelyn, Don’t ya all know our ROVER is driving all over MARS as I write spewing toxins and destroying the Martian world. I asume our satelites orbiting the other planets in the solar system are destroying those “Pristine” ecosystems!

See Red China’s polution is good. All that particular mater emmited by the newest Chinese power plants not srcubber equiped is collecting moisture over the Pacific and creating addition rainfall over the Pacific. That way sunny California can have even more SUN. Not alowing for controled burns by the enviro wackos and Sen Boxer also helps for all those “NATURAL” forest fires. And we all know NATURAL is aways GOOD! LIBS, Ya got to love them like your irrational 13 year old kid.

Mac-101   July 8th, 2008 - 11:06 pm

Mr FED Up, Would you be less fed up if we can get the DEMOs carbon cap and trade laws in place so Big Al Gore can increse his wealth another 200 million and you and I can pay another 1.50 to 2.00 a gallon more for gas. Ya, that would make me feel better! How bout you?

Brock   July 9th, 2008 - 12:39 am

History will judge Northern California harshly, for electing people like Barbara Boxer. Clearly she continues to read from last months script on Global Warming. She hasn’t caught up to the fact that 31,000 US scientists are evidently not on the Global Warming handout train.

By the way, tell me how much you’ll pay me and I’ll consider changing my opinion. I need a new Lexus.

Brown   July 9th, 2008 - 3:17 pm

Fed up – the polar bears are not dieing, the fact is their numbers are increasing. The polar bear bull is speculation that they would die if the ice melted. The new research from NASA shows the ice increasing not decreasing. The thickness of the ice, after decreasing for awhile, is now increasing again. This is natures cycle. Remember when the ozone hole was opening and we are all going to die? Turns out the opening and closing is cycle. Remember when the year 2000 was going to crash the computers, didn’t happen. Why is it you Dumocraps have to have a chicken little syndrome?

N Waff   July 19th, 2008 - 6:30 pm

The American Physical Society (physicists) will be openly debating global warming as to whether it is a man-made phenomenon.

http://www.aps.org/units/fps/newsletters/200807/editor.cfm

as scientists continue to sign the petition stating that there is no convincing evidence of our activites causing catastrophic results
