Those misery-loving Liberals have driven this country so deeply into the ground… I’m surprised we haven’t struck oil per chance!
One must be very rich, extremely stupid… or BOTH, to not recognize the need for the U.S. to once again become energy independent.

It has been said that the United States in WWII, “…sailed to victory on a sea of oil”, defeating oil-dependent Imperial Japan. Having become oil-dependent now ourselves, are to continue ignoring lessons of history, allowing our evil enemies in the Middle East to control our destiny?

The choice is simple… but time is running out on us.

Only socialist politicians can attempt to deny that the principle of supply and demand, which has been a reality since 5,000 B.C. does not apply to a commodity like oil.

Further, the fact that they do not see any national security problem with depending on an 8,000 mile sea lane over a domestic supply is equally confounding.

Their detachment from the real world is amazing.

AMERICANS can do anything… but NOT if our own Congress is AGAINST the people…

anyone know of a ‘recall’ website for these morons… Americans cannot wait for the election, we need to gut congress now…

we should have been energy independent by now… the 1970’s did not teach us anything…

There is enough oil being supplied, Saudi Arabia increased output recently. Speculation, lack of refinery capacity in the US, Israel and the U.S. threatening to bomb Iran, rampant greed from the oil industry, and the fact that the US dollar is collapsing in the world market are the reasons oil is so expensive for us now. More than half of every tax dollar in this country is spent on defense and the national deficit will have doubled under Bush. Your personal share of the national debt is now over $30,000, for each and every person in the US. Meanwhile, the two endless wars we are involved in continue to siphon away dollars that would have been spent here. Gas prices have almost quadrupled since Bush took office 7 years ago, aren’t you happy you voted for an ignorant Texas oilman?

Mike   July 11th, 2008 - 2:21 pm

Even if there were trillions of barrels of oil under the US, oil prices still wouldn’t drop. This is all just a big game for Bush and his oil cronies – suck the middle and lower classes dry while we have the chance and to heck with the consequences. Free trade has stolen millions of US manufacturing jobs which won’t return in our lifetimes, if ever. The 2 wars (soon maybe 3) we are in and rampant government waste and fraud steal away money that would have been spent for our infrastructure. The Bush Administrations’ actions are much to blame for the devaluation of the US dollar. Oil and precious metals are the only sure bets left in the stock market, driving prices through the roof. Get ready for a Bush induced great depression folks, that’s where we’re headed.

Clarity, or lack thereof, you have not idea about economics do you? You must be a government educated high school graduate, socialist/communist like your congress with an approval rating of 9%. Just great. Gas prices have doubled since your fellow demoRATS took over the congress. Hey Einstein, the president doesn’t make laws the congress does. They have been sitting on their butts doing nothing but complaining since Nov. ‘06. They will go down in history as the “We Can’t” congress, we can’t drill our way out of this, we can’t win the war, we can’t take responsibility of our own lives and the government has to take care of us, we can’t manage our own lives, we can’t breath or cows can’t flatulate because of the carbon we emit which is causing the world to die, we can’t we can’t we can’t. Well we CAN elect a new republican congress that will drill for oil and gas. China is drilling off the coast of Florida! How do you like that. The fact that the dollar is weakening is because we’re sending almost a trillion dollars over seas for oil a year. Where are you from San Fransisi?

Clarity   July 11th, 2008 - 5:53 pm

Rene’ C. I blame both our yesman congress and the Bush administration for the situation we are in. Gas prices had already doubled BEFORE the Democrats took office. I take no sides in a government corrupt and rotten to the core – both Democrats and Republicans are to blame. Maybe if you weren’t so busy posturing as to how one side is better than the other you’d realize that the entire system is falling apart under the strain of self centered rampant corruption and ineptitude. I also realize the President doesn’t make laws, but he has coerced Congress into fighting two endless, money sucking wars. Also, Cheney and Rove have come up with all kinds of ways of subverting existing laws, such as torture, wiretapping citizens, eliminating administration emails, etc. No matter where oil is found, we’ll still be paying more for it, end of story. I’ve also read that as much as 10% of the oil pumped from US soil is EXPORTED! Oil costs rising are an after effect of the devaluation of the US dollar. I love how you neocon lovers now blame the Democrats for all the country’s woes, as if everything just happened in the last 2 years. Wake up! And realize that they’re all to blame! By the way, where are YOU from? obviously somewhere without manners or facts.

In April 2006, Democrats promised the American people a “COOMMONSENSE PLAN” to bring down gas prices. LIARS.. the plan does not include drilling for U.S. oil reserves.
Average gas prices under the Democrat-controlled Congress have risen from $2.33 a gallon on January 4, 2007 — the first day of the Democratic Majority — to the current $4.00 plus, a gallon.

The LEFTISTS and their friends work tirelessly telling us to reduce or conserve. Nice TRICK. They’re actually telling Americans to REDUCE THEIR WAY OF LIFE. Does this not bother any of you? How about I tell you and your family what you CAN or CAN’T have. Would you like that??
These people are SICK. I havent seen anyone in CONGRESS reduce their lifestyle. SHOW ME to prove me wrong !

Automobile plants are closing resulting in lost jobs. Food prices grow higher because the Diesel fuel that trucks need is more expensive than regular gasoline.

Energy bills increase. Airline travel increases. Public transportation increases. Where will it end???

If CONGRESS truly cared about the suffering of the American people they would lift every ban on drilling. http://www.AmericanSolutions.com Sign the petition !!!

Today marks another dubious day for this Do-Nothing Democratic Congress. On their watch, gas prices have soared to new heights, and by REFUSING to schedule a vote on a plan to increase AMERICAN-MADE ENERGY to help lower gas prices, congressional DEMOCRATS are complicit in this unprecedented surge in fuel costs. On the Democrats’ watch, America has become a nation of $4 plus gasoline. This expensive milestone arrives two years removed from an ENDLESS stream of assurances by Democrat leaders that they had their hands on a ‘COMMONSENSE PLAN’ to lower gas prices. LIARS!!! http://www.AmericanSolutions.com Sign the petition.

Lexicon12   July 11th, 2008 - 9:29 pm

The AMERICAN people want real solutions that will invest in AMERICAN resources, create AMERICAN jobs, and lower prices for AMERICAN consumers. That means tapping U.S. oil reserves.
Why are we on our knees begging OPEC nations for oil when we have oil right here in AMERICA??
It is absolutely “insane” that the Democrat-led Congress is still REFUSING to allow increased production of AMERICAN-MADE ENERGY. http://www.AmericanSolutions.com Sign the petition and tell OPEC to stick their ‘dirty’ oil up their pipes !!!

Lexicon12   July 11th, 2008 - 9:33 pm

1996 Bill Clinton blocked efforts to build more REFINERIES and to do some DRILLING. Over 10 YEARS AGO!! We wouldn’t have this mess today !!! Hugo Chavez along with our CHINESE friends DRILL happily about 50 miles off the coast of Florida. 50 miles !!!!
This is a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY. It is time to begin boosting supplies of all forms of energy “RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA” to reduce America’s DEPENDENCE on FOREIGN sources of oil. http://www.AmericanSolutions.com Sign the petition.

Average gas prices under the Democrat-controlled Congress have risen from $2.33 a gallon on January 4, 2007 — the first day of the Democratic Majority — to the current $4.00 plus, a gallon.

What will it take for the Democrat-controlled CONGRESS to finally take action and help ease the pain of the Pelosi Premium on behalf of struggling families and small businesses? Speaker Pelosi has the POWER to schedule a vote on a plan to begin breaking America’s costly dependence on FOREIGN sources of energy. SHE REFUSES !!! REFUSES!!! She should not wait another day to do so.

Send a clear message to the Do-Nothing CONGRESS. http://www.AmericanSolutions.com Sign the petition along with 1.3 million others who support DRILLING NOW.

We all know the Mainstream Media is leftist and will do their best to keep this drilling campaign out of the front pages of Newspapers and away from the top headlines of their News Shows.

As for polls..I don’t pay too much attention to them because they are easily manipulated by the Media which has over many years been infiltrated by Leftists.

It is terrible that they work together with Leftist Politicians to destroy this great Country. Everyone knows that crude oil is a vital resource that is used for so many things besides our personal vehicles.

It affects our entire economy. Travel, retail, public transportation, food, rent, mortgage payments, energy bills, etc. This problem has forced us to reduce everything including reducing our very lives.

This crude oil squeeze from nations who hate America and our Prosperity is damaging our Precious America like a Cancer. Congress just sits there and does not lift a finger to help. They know what they have to do…..but they dont do it.

I suppose people will literally have to lose everything or there will have to be ‘loss of life’ associated with this crude oil problem before Congress finally agrees to tap our own resources.

I’ve seen the list of Representatives who support Drilling. I only found one Democrat who supports this campaign and that makes me sick because I’m a Democrat. Actually I was a Democrat because I now have decided to be Independent. A conservative Independent.

Shame on all Representatives who did not lift a finger to call for a vote to Drill. If peoples lives are lost because of this, I hold CONGRESS personally responsible for that loss of life.

As for the people who are on a tight budget and are struggling every day to stay alive…I am TRULY SORRY for what my political party has done. I hate them for this. I did not abandon my party…my party abandoned ME.

Thanks to Newt for his courage. Something I wish more people had.

Breitbart.com recently reported:
King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, whose nation is the world’s number one oil exporter, called on consumer countries to GET USED TO HIGH PRICES in comments published on Tuesday.

So there you have it. GET USED TO IT.

Why are we on our knees to these OPEC nations when we have enough resources RIGHT HERE. Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and OPEC are holding the AMERICAN PEOPLE hostage by not voting to drill. Thanks to them and the rest of the LEFTISTS, we have had to REDUCE our way of LIFE. They want all AMERICANS to drive a certain car and eat certain foods and keep your thermostats at THEIR required level. What’s next?? Will you be required to sell your LARGE home for a one bedroom apartment? What will be your breaking point??? $6, $7, $8 per gallon? When will you say enough is enough to the LEFTISTS??

Send a clear message to CONGRESS and their LEFTIST friends. http://www.AmericanSolutions.com Sign that petition.

Gas prices spiked under both Bush Administrations. Seems to have something to do with the recessions that both Conservatives created while in office.

Why didn’t the Republican controlled Congress do something the 6 years it had under Bush to lower gas prices that had doubled while they were in power?

Tapping US oil reserves will never drop the price of oil, we’re stuck – rampant greed from the oil industries, a dollar whose value decreases every day, and rampant speculation ensure that we will suffer.

At least 10 percent of the oil pulled from our soil is EXPORTED to Asian markets.

Drilling in the ANWR won’t solve our energy issues, Lexicon12, government regulation and alternative energy sources are the only ways.

Cowboy Joe
Are GE, Rupert Murdoch, Disney and TIme Warner leftist groups?
Because they control the majority of mainstream media!
Why don’t you wake up!

As for Newt, I guess it took true courage for him also to have an affair and leave his wife in the middle of her cancer treatments. Or to not pay alimony or child support, causing a church to have to support the family he left. I suppose it took courage also to bring Clinton up on impeachment charges for lying about an affair while he was carrying on an affair at the same time.
What a hero.

10 percent or more of the oil pulled from the US is EXPORTED to sell in Asian markets.
There is no shortage of oil right now, this is George Bush’s payback to the oil industry.
Wake up!
