I’m not sure why this is being made into a party issue. I have identified myself with progressive issues – which usually means the Democratic Party – for most of my life, and I find his comments reprehensible. I understand he is speaking from the perspective of a defense attorney, but the enthusiasm and aggressiveness with which he describes his intentions is frightening. I would vote R in a heartbeat to get him out of office if I were a member of his constituency. And I would push all my family and friends to do the same.
