Somehow I wasn’t surprised at the these two leftist’s political opportunism. I almost laughed when Chris Matthews attempted to turn Russert into a martyred victim of the War in Iraq. However I have to give it to MSNBC; they have an agenda to push and come hell or high waters they are going to push it.
Personally I don’t see the fuss about Russert’s death. Everyday there is a soldier, police-officer or firefighter that dies in the line of duty protecting their loved ones and their country. And no one in the media honors them as they do a blowhard who had too many twinkies.

Tim Russsert was a fine man, a fine newsman, a fair and probing interviewer. Above all, he was a decent person, who inspired many young jounalists with similar qualities. The Me, Me, Me Mathews and Olberman “tribute” was a disgrace, and tells more about them than any other comments could. I am equally disgusted at many of the posts above. They are crass. I am not a blue collar democrat as he was, but I genuinely listened to what he had to say. He was always a gentleman, something that the pathetic circus at MSNBC cannot even fathom.

No one tries to make leaving people to die look honorable more often than Chris Matthews and his cronies do. To the liberals that hang on his every word, they could care less if Matthews and Russerts own religion considers it a sin to have had over 40 million Americans butchered through abortion the past 30 years. They don’t care if hundreds of thousands of people were saved in the Iraq no fly zones because they were in peril from mustard,chlorine, and dual use chemicals rather than nukes. They don’t care that thousands of African’s have been slaughtered by machetes since the 90’s, and could have been saved by a modest intervention by the US with African partners. No they would rather undercut their own military and country as warmongers because the military solution isn’t considered civilized enough, they consider that letting the people mentioned above be massacred first and then sending the red cross and doctors without borders in afterwards to count the dead to be far more civilized.

While I have great sympathy for the Russerts on their loss, he nor his network was worth more than the lives of the INNOCENT people the US saved in Iraq, and his network has done great harm to the US in trying to save them. The only thing I got out of this hollow cryfest between 2 guys that hate each other (Matthews and Olberman), was that Russert only cared about saving the Iraqis in the no fly zones if Saddam was working on nukes, otherwise they were fair game for whatever dual use chemicals they wanted to drop out of their helicopters to finish the job they had started years before. The no fly zone mandate was going away and France and Russia had business interests not to renew it. Sure it would have been good if the whole country was together on saving the innocent people in Iraq, but considering the libs can so easily get over the senseless slaughtering through abortion of over 40 million americans,(they would have been safer as 40 million baby seals), the past 35 years, I find it hard to believe they might care about the Iraqis living in peril in the no fly zone areas. Maybe while the libs are attending some of the Catholic churches they have corrupted through scandals and abortion friendly congregations they can reflect on the war. The war has never been about gaining wealth or power, and it will be difficult for close minded liberals to go beyond their programming and see that fact.
