What’s important is that almost EVERY IDIOT in Washington voted FOR this damned useless war!
What’s important is that this friggin’ war and ancillary hysteria have stolen nearly all of our Civil Liberties in this country!
What’s important is that this useless war has killed so many thousands of people and decimated our budget.
What’s important is that the Powers that Be and Power-Wannabe’s have NO CLUE how to END this dirty stinkin’ useless war!

Poor libs still whining that Sadaam isn’t in power. Now I never thought Iraq’s democracy would spread. But Sadaam had to go. Why are we still there? Remember all the libs saying “if you broke it, you have to fix it”.
I’ll make it real simple for you liberal dolts. Sadaam supported terrorism. We didn’t want a terrorist state. We already had troops there. UN sanctions were failing. Logic says he take out Sadaam.
Now if you want to debate how the aftermath was handled, then I think that’s a legit topic.
But I don’t want to hear libs whine about the war because it all boils down to them hating Bush.
The word ‘resolve’ comes to mind. It’s nice to hear McCain still standing strong on the war issue and being realistic about what it will take to end the greater war on terror. No matter what you think about the war and how we got here, we can’t just pull out all our forces in Iraq overnight. We’re in this for the long haul, for the sake of the world and not just for idealistic U.S. values of freedom and democracy. Victory in Iraq will be the quickest way to get our soldiers home.

The Roman empire died from within, because of being overextended. Bring the boys home Mccain, and let the Muslims fight their own wars.
They are never coming home and they are sitting ducks occupying a country that hates them. The difference between our troops in Europe & Korea and in the Middle east is the first 2 are Western countries and allow us there. The Afgan & Iraq, there are no reasons for us to be there. Neither candidate from the 2 main parties have a clue. We need to put Ron Paul in as Republican candidate so we can bring our boys home.
RoverJune 11th, 2008 - 4:01 pm
This is shocking and profoundly ignorant even for McCain. There is one Hell of a difference between being on a military base in Germany and being on patrol in Iraq trying to control the place after we invaded it due to a mistake. We spend more money every day on Iraq than all the other military operations in the world combined. Iraq is an active war with our troops dying and being injured in direct combat. That is very different than maintaining the bases in say Guam. If this senile old looser can’t figure that out, his only legacy will be being a worse president than Bush.

“Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran”
Yep, Shrubs gona! And then he’s going to use NSPD 51 (national security presidential directive 51) that he signed last year to declare martial law, suspend the constitution, dissolve the congress, suspend the election and delcare himself God and the messiah of Israel until he wins WWIII. No, Shrub isn’t going to ride off quietly into the sunset, America isn’t totally destroyed yet. But it will be by the time he gets done.
Obom AsucksJune 11th, 2008 - 4:43 pm
Can you imagine what it’s going to be like if Obama gets elcted and we get attacked again. We’ll have an impatent, apathetic socialist in power eager to appease or even please all of our adversaries & enemies. He wouldn’t lift a finger to protect us. Well I have a finger I’d like to lift in his direction!
Where did Sharon Stone say she was moving to if McCain was elected? France? Well I’m going there if Hussein is elected.
Oy Vay! I dread the day!

First off, DefendThyself, Korea is not a “western country.”
Second, whats wrong with the notion of USA troops in Afghanistan and Iraq assisting the freedom loving people in those two countries to establish representative governments while at the same time confronting and eliminating the oppressive fanatics that seek to destroy human freedom?
Third, whats wrong with establishing two free countries on the borders of Iran and setting the stage for the good people of Iran to take charge of their own futures and hopefully change that country from the inside out and avoid a larger war?
The confronting and defeating of militant Islam is vital to the future peace and prosperity of that region and of our world, too bad we started the job about 30 years too late.
Thanks troops!!!

I agree but would like to add to it “…let the Muslims and ISRAELIS fight their own wars.”
If it were up to me ALL other countries would fight their own wars period.
dmJune 11th, 2008 - 6:40 pm
You know these that want out now may have a point. Why should we care about places that harbor terrorists, let them fight it out. Heck they would never want to harm us. Would they?
Why should we care if Iran has nuke weapons, they would never use them, they just want them.
That whole part of the world is just plain peaceful.
Gee whizz, just look at Israel not a care in the world about any old terrorists. We’re just as safe.
Yep, bring’em home now the whole worlds a safe place.

If we completely withdraw, the whiney liberal facists will know why we have always been a force that stabilizes the region we are in. Pathetically ignorant and selfish people will applaud withdrawing and cause more suffering.

Its getting to a point with me that after reading all the BO talking points that get vomited up by his ideological followers day in and day out…it just puts me to sleep.
Their position is predictable, boring, and lacks creativity. Nothing new, nothing changes… same’o same’o.

Victory? Honor?
You foul-mouthed Cons gave THAT up when you allowed ‘Shock & Awe’- when the whole world screamed not to!
You REALLY believe this mindless recycled drivel about bringing
freedom to an area that has never known it?
At 700 million a day?
What will IRAN cost American citizens? It is 50 time more powerful and WAY more organized! Who will fight? Our troops are spread thin now, with disgusting lack of support from the white house.
Do you NOT know corruption when you see it?
War for profit?
Look. It. Up.
You ‘armchair’ patriots make me sick.
Your hatred of all things ‘liberal’ blinds you to reality. Please wake up now. O.K.?

Fed UpJune 11th, 2008 - 8:12 pm
Ahhh, I love the smell of Ignorance in the morning. We no longer need to fight wars, anywhere else, because we spend so much energy fighting amongst ourselves.
I say, we pull every-single one of our bases out of every other country in the world. Bring back our bases here, build up our borders, stay out of everyone elses’ business, and just trade goods. Simple. The reason “they” hate US(A) is because we have 723 bases “over there”, and no-one has a base here.

Fed Up, that would be a nifty policy if it was 1824. Maybe you are being sarcastic in your post. I don’t know.
In the post cold war missle laden world of 2008 we don’t have the luxury of siting in our log cabins smoking corn cob pipes as the youngins play nice by the fire place.
Nukes, subs, EMPs, WMD, nerve agents, gas, bio weapons and cyber attacks force us to be a little more proactive than a kindly general store owner in 1872 Davenport Iowa.

Rover,
Boring, predictable comments. Does the BO ideological followers have anything creative to say? Anything upbeat and positive to say? No, that would go against their almighty leader’s platform of everything wrong with America.
Boring, predictable, and lacks creativity. Same’o pile of liberal trash.

McCain is a traitor to this country – I will vote for Obama before I vote for this idiot and I’m a conservative. The longer the GOP stubbornly aheres to this senile idiot the more they seal their fate to lose and lose BIG. McCain wants to fight every war ISRAEL wants while encouraging an INVASION of this country from Mexico. McCain is more dangerous to the US and ANY terrorist.

== MIDDLE EAST STRATEGY ==
It is a strategic move for the US to have a permanent presence in the Middle East to influence the extremist ideology that killed thousands of Americans on 9/11. We should never pull out but have permanent based like we do all over the world. Those with the “pull-out” matra are just short sited. And thank god that, since 9/11 there have been zero terrorist attacks on US soil, US embassies or US military.

My 7 favorite Rover quotes:

“I am semi-retired at 44… My internet business is in the black in my first year :Dâ€
“I am 47. Power engineer (can’t spell).â€
“OK, so you got me, big deal your smarter than a 14 year old. Are you happy now?â€
“If he was a nig, we would lynch him for sureâ€
“No!!, Low Cal Patsy, “I†am the anti-Semite! You just got dragged into it because you were standing next to me in cyberspace.â€

Hi jbh50,
Those are “our” comments about what we think and how we stand. But your “See what I’m saying. So predictable and boring” is sort of old after three posts in a single subject…
Can you go deeper and explain what YOUR own true feeling are on this subject rather than concentrating on simplistically discounting the views of all others who care to post without offering your own views? Don’t be so shallow.
SoCal is all too well known to us as a hospice retard that will go away in due time. But maybe you can think for yourself and argue at an adult level still.

All you pacifists and isolationists, keep sucking on your fat selfish thumbs…so we do not have to hear your pathetic whining and those that are “claiming” to be conservative or republican, whatever, party affiliation has nothing to do with it. Let the real men continue to do what it is that they are doing…bringing security and the real possibility of “freedom” to a world that has been held hostage for the past 1000+ years. We have had our opportunity and look at how it is being squandered…don’t deny them theirs…
