SoCal Patriot   June 6th, 2008 - 7:49 pm

My 7 favorite Rover quotes:
“I am 47 years out of the God given womb myself…”
“I am semi-retired at 44… My internet business is in the black in my first year :D”
“I am 47. Power engineer (can’t spell).”
“OK, so you got me, big deal your smarter than a 14 year old. Are you happy now?”
“If he was a nig, we would lynch him for sure”
“No!!, Low Cal Patsy, “I” am the anti-Semite! You just got dragged into it because you were standing next to me in cyberspace.”
“Ok, to Hell with the constitution!”

47, 44, 47, 14, racist, anti-Semite, traitor and he’s an admitted democrat. (Go figure)

That clerk is a REAL man.

Rev. Telkal   June 6th, 2008 - 8:08 pm

Sad, it’s an enheartening story of a man that fights back against crime. But I wondered how long until some idiot brought up race. First post, go fig. Then a so-called Patriot accuses him of being a Dem (go fig).
Thank you Sue, for keeping the posts on the subject, not just hate and bitterness that others focus on so much.

Only could have been better if the clerk could have got a good hold him and punished him a bit.

ddray   June 7th, 2008 - 12:12 am

Well, there goes the argument that no one will fool with you if you are armed.

Richard   June 7th, 2008 - 8:21 am

ddray has misunderstood the argument for concealed carry. It goes like this: no one will fool with you AGAIN if you are armed. Of course, you must how to use your weapon as this POS did not. That clerk deserves a medal. If I owned that store, I would give him $5000 tax free cash and buy him a Glock .45 to wear in the store. And free shooting lessons
We are fortunate in this respect here in the US. In Sweden, this clerk would be in more trouble than the robber because he used force. In Sweden, the government sees the robber as a little child who needs help, not a human being responsible for his actions.

Klatuu   June 7th, 2008 - 9:52 am

Supporting his wife and three kids at home with two jobs – this alone makes this man a hero. Add the fact that he has extraordinary courage makes me doubly proud of this man. I would be happy to call this man and his family a neighbor.

ddray   June 7th, 2008 - 11:05 am

Okay,I get it now, Richard. My bad. You said, “no one will fool with you AGAIN if you are armed.” So you are saying that if I am armed, someone will fool with me the first time, but will not fool with me the second time. I guess you mean that wlil be because I have shot the other guy dead the first time but that I will be safe from being shot by the other guy because I have a gun and know how to use it. Like a cop or a soldier, right?

Thanks for the clarification..

beverly   June 7th, 2008 - 12:59 pm

good for the clerk…!!! the owner of the store should make him manager and arm him.
ddray just wants the criminals to be armed so law abiding citizens have no protection. duh.

chuck   June 7th, 2008 - 3:27 pm

Looks like the clerk has a gun. did he take it away from the robber? hard to tell but it does not look like a tec 9

VermontPeace   June 7th, 2008 - 4:52 pm

How violent! The clerk must be a republican. Give the poor teen some money, a drink and some cookies. He is poor and angry because of Bush and Rove. Restorative justice is need here!

Vermont love Obama!

Rover   June 7th, 2008 - 11:02 pm

I agree with Vermont many times just talking will defuse a potential violent situation. The clerk should have tried winning the young man over with comforting and reassuring words. The clerk is the real villian in this situation he could have handled things without making the violence worse. Remember violence creates more and more violence.

“REV” TELKAL,
Not bringing up black criminality with regards to these numerous stories of violence and robbery is like not mentioning an arson when thousands of buildings are intentionally burned down.
You don’t like hearing it but it must be discussed before solutions may arise.
I firmly believe that blacks are not only incapable of self rule but are incapable of even living in a civilized society without falling into anarchy and savagery.
It is inevitable and imperative that 90% will be forcefully returned to their origins.
There is no other way to deal with this plague of violence.

To Rover & VermontPeace: Please try very hard to understand this if you are capable.

“The essential flaw in the pacifist argument is that if it is fully embraced by a nation threatened by enemies, it guarantees their victory.

If, as is the more common circumstance, it is embraced by a small percentage of the population then they are in the moral position of benefitting from the sacrifice of their fellow citizens while being unwilling themselves to sacrifice. This provides them to feel a cheap moral superiority.”
– George Orwell

“History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or timid.” —
- President Dwight Eisenhower

“A pacifist being a basic coward, is one who feeds his neighbors to a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.” — Winston Churchill

And finally a thought I’m sure is well beyond your meger mental capabilities

“Si vis pacem, para bellum”

If you wish peace, prepare for war) — Flavius Vegetius Renatus (ca 390 AD)
