She looks like she ate a lot of cake and wants the kids to suffer a diet with her.
Even though when I was a kid in the 50s and 60s we never had cake at school for our birthdays this is a Marxist move. This along with gays in the school teaching perversion as a wonder thing, twisting and rewriting history to bash America, and the killing of God.They killed Christmas,Easter and Thanksgiving ( they lie and say the settlers were thanking the Indians when they were actually thanking God)etc…Now they are telling what they can eat…what they can say…how to vote(for libs of course) how all men are potencial rapists…how they should masterbate …how the 11 year old girls should take birth control pills etc…
Vote for McCain if you want to save America from these Atheists.

At my workplace there is a b’day celebration at arate of one per week. I have to refuse the cake otherwise I would be putting on the unwanted weight.

I can see their point-of-view.

I see the point, but it’s NOT THEIR JOB!!! Just like the dad said, it’s ultimately the parents’ responsibility to teach what is good for their kids. This is just another example of how the government wants to whittle away at parental rights.

Vote Constitution Party!!!

It’s odd that this is even an issue. We never celebrated kids birthdays with cakes and parties like that when I was in school, and I’m not saying that in a nostalgic “oh, back in the 50’s” sort of way – I’m only 25! Parties were just something you did after school.

Its their job to provide lunches and, in some cases, breakfast. This is just an extension of controlling the menu.

Now if they would just do something about all those soda machines in the lunchrooms.

They later celebrated the school board’s decision over cocktails into the early morning hours.

The first grader in the story had a high and tight, better get that banned too.

Did anyone else notice the piece of chocolate cake he was eating after his segment was over? That was hilarious.

Kenny   June 2nd, 2008 - 5:03 pm

I bet anyone 100 bucks that she is lying, and the real reason for the ban is religion.

I went to school for twelve years and not once was there a birthday party for any child. We were in class to learn, not carouse.

You mean they now get birthday parties with cupcakes at school? SHEESH!

By the way, if they had not removed P.E. (Physical Ed) and Recess from school routines, they might not have an epidemic of fatties in classes.

Kids NEED to get outside and run around and play ball and climb monkeybars and all that other stuff that burns calories and drains off their excess energy, so they can afterwards sit still and pay attention to teachers, instead of squirming, running down aisles, and acting like they have “ADHD” or “Autistic spectrum disorder”!!!

Our school district banned birthday cake celebrations two years ago! It’s kind of nice because the ban eliminates the birthday distraction during critical teaching time. I give my students a special crown to wear and we sing happy birthday. It’s also nice because I don’t have to put up with the sugar high that kids get after eating cake or cookies. About P.E., It’s required everyday! Recess doesn’t count.

We never had cakes for Bdays when I was in school. Once a week in gradeschool we would have a Hotdog day. You could buy hotdogs chips and a orange drink. I would always buy 3 hotdogs and give one to a poor kid who don’t get money at home.

Even now when I see a fat kid in my Ice Cream shop I try to talk them into having a 0 fat no sugar ice cream i carry for the heavy kids. It doesn’t taste that great but at least the obese kids can share a cone with their normal friends.

Come on now! Good judgment on the part of adults should be the determining factor here, not some moronic school policy, rule or dictate. Schools who suspend or expell a student who happens to carry an aspirin tablet or a plastic butter knife to eat his/her lunch, demonstrates that school administrators have no brains and anything they wish to impart to youngsters should always be viewed with suspicion. I’m glad I don’t have any kids to subject them to the public school system which is getting worse every day and costing us a king’s ransom!

GameGrrl   June 3rd, 2008 - 2:11 pm

We never had these sorts of celebration when I was school either. They should take out the pop machines and the other vendor machines too. How about some exercise!! Why are all these kids so FAT now? It makes me sad seeing all these obese kids walking around! But it is cheaper to buy fast food and soda, rather than healthy foods!! Very sad!

Jeff   June 3rd, 2008 - 5:31 pm

Kids are way too fat today. I am 43, when I was in grade school we had gym AND recess every day. We played hard during our recess. Tag, kill the man with the ball, kickball, swings, monkey bars (probably banned today because of some stupid frivolous lawsuits), DODGEBALL (banned in most schools toady!) just plain fun. We did not have soda machines, candy machines etc. We did have school lunches and ice cream if you purchased it. We were NOT fat. There were always the one or two “heavy set” kids, but not like today. I think it all stems from not eating right at home. We always had dinner at the table EVERY night. Home cooked meals. Today everything is microwaved, heated up type of “fast” dinners with too many calories and carbs. Common sense = skinnier kids.

ToeNee   June 3rd, 2008 - 7:01 pm

I was 11 in 1972. I spend much of the day in school learning, and not eating cake. We had recess and daily PE,(playing dodgeball was always a rare treat!) After school I went home, played outside with friends until dinner. After dinner I went back outside and played until dark.

I say turn off the computers, TV’s and let the kids out of the house.

peter c,

a vote for McCain won’t do anything, he’s just a wishy washy liberal republican, hang in there because we are going to see more nonsense like this before things get better. Sometimes you have to travel to hell to appreciate heaven so brace yourself for the next 4 years, its gonna be hell buddy.

Mike   June 4th, 2008 - 9:21 am

We never had birthday parties on a regular basis that I can remember either. I think someone might have brought in cupcakes to school for their own birthday a couple times. But, I agree with the Dad, this is the parents responsibility. The government schools are little indoctrination centers.
Our children are being stigmatized and brainwashed. They push what they think is the “perfect weight, perfect dress, perfect thought.” If you want an eye opener, go Google Nazi propaganda posters/films, and Communists propaganda films. You would think you were watching Democrat talking points.
