The source of the senses–the ears, the nose, eyes, etc.–is considered to be the upper twigs, tuned to the enjoyment of different sense objects. The leaves are sound, form, touch–the sense objects. The roots, which are subsidiary, are the by-products of different varieties of suffering and sense enjoyment. Thus we develop attachment and aversion. The tendencies toward piety and impiety are considered to be the secondary roots, spreading in all directions. The real root is from Brahmaloka, and the other roots are in the human planetary systems. After one enjoys the results of virtuous activities in the upper planetary systems, he comes down to this earth and renews his karma, or fruitive activities for promotion. This planet of human beings is considered the field of activities.

As for who was killed, far, far more Chinese than Tibetans were killed in the Sichuan quake. Just look at the pictures of the survivors and you see the proportion–almost no Tibetan faces among the photos.

Hmmm, Sharon Stone’s comment was somewhat difficult to follow, but I heard something entirely different.
Stone revealed that the Tibetans taught her a lesson. She admitted that her first instinct was to believe that the earthquake was retribution for communist China’s treatment of Tibet, but the real lesson for her was when she observed Tibet’s forgiveness toward China when they offered help after the earthquake.
What was she thinking about when she said nobody should be unkind to the others? Is she being kind by saying such nasty words? She showed no sympathy to those who are suffering. I look down upon her.
Did anybody listen to the entire clip? Doesn’t sound like it from the comments I’m reading. She goes on to say that the Tibetian people were some of the first to go offer their help to the victims and that was a learning experience for her. (first thinking Karma, then thinking unselfishness). Jeez.

It’s like saying Katrina happened because US invaded Iraq and killed hundreds of thousands of people. Whether you are an athiest or spirtual/religious one must accept that it is wrong and dehuminizing to either force athiesm or religion on ANYONE. As a psychologyist I also believe that in general psychology needs to start looking at the human being as a whole, listening to peoples spiritual/religious views being that it is part human nature where or not their is truth to the spiritual/religious realm. If someone is athiest psychologists should also listen and detach themselves from their own beliefs and explore this area of the human being. I have often said where psychology ends spirituality begins.
