‘This, Senator, Is Too Much’: Olbermann Rants on Clinton’s RFK Remarks

"You actually used the word 'assassination' in the middle of a campaign with a loud undertone of racial hatred - and gender hatred - and political hatred."

I love watching this racist, gender biased, American hating ,socialist, etc implosion oF the democrat party. WHY VOTE FOR ANYONE WHO WILL NOT DRILL FOR OIL BUT WILL DESTROY THE ECONOMY BY RAISING TAXES?

Merry Lake   May 24th, 2008 - 10:08 am

Quite frankly, I am not offended by Clinton’s remarks. This seems to be another occasion for a man (in this case Olberman) to RANT. Olberman’s tone is out of line – he’s hysterical.

Tubby   May 24th, 2008 - 10:09 am

OPERATION CHAOS!!!

Janet   May 24th, 2008 - 10:09 am

For once I agree with you K. Olberman.

Johnny Anger   May 24th, 2008 - 10:21 am

I watched this on MSNBC (since O’Reilly was a repeat) & laughed myself silly. How does anyone take this lunatic seriously ?? He’s obsessed by Bill O’Reilly (who smothers him in the ratings), he makes NO pretense of objectivity, & is (in my view) little more than a Democratic/Obama cheerleader. MSNBC is a joke-he’s a punchline

jt   May 24th, 2008 - 10:22 am

every blind squirrel finds an acorn once in awhile, finally oberman has it right, the clintons are evil, and for the past 20 years have thrown political debate into the politics of race baiting personal destruction. If she was a republican, the party would have thrown her out years ago. Will the ny dominated media finally ask her and bill, jesse, and sharpton to go(like they did of fallwell and robertson)?

Adruana(Ontario, Canada)   May 24th, 2008 - 10:28 am

You hit the nail on the head. The mouth speaks what’s in the heart. The tongue can be life or death…there was no life to that comment.

Anne Harrell   May 24th, 2008 - 10:28 am

I confess that I have never liked K.O., and have avoided him, whenever possible. HOWEVER, I happened upon his comments, ref. Hillary and her RFK assignation remarks, and now view him in a more flattering light.
I confess that his comments, regarding same, blew me away. He was succinct, informative, forceful and absolutely brilliant. Yes, he was.
Although I do not agree with the little I know of his political views, this oral essay forces me to tune in to his future programs, with more of an open mind. Now that you have a new fan, Mr. O., I ask that you not be so critical of Bill O. on Fox.
I doubt that these words will meet your eyes, but I feel so strongly about your well-thought out comments (of which I fully agree) that I am taking a few minutes out of my busy day to congratulate you upon hitting the nail square on the head with the points you make.
Sincerely,
Anne Harrell (Soon to be 74 years old.)

Josh   May 24th, 2008 - 10:54 am

this guy if funny. He reminds of the thought police from an Orwellian movie. To think our country has better media talent than this half wit ranting like a person who has mental disorders. I think he hates women with power and he feels his male ego threatened now that she is attacking his alter ego Obama. I think Hillary has more balls to say what she thinks than olbermann. All I can say is ” Go Hillary Go!

DrPWesley   May 24th, 2008 - 10:56 am

I am by no means a Hillary Clinton supporter, but I highly doubt she meant anything damaging by this comment, and I think Obama and his campaign workers and supporters know this. We are at the point that no one can say anything that might in any way “offend” the chosen candidate of the left and it’s pretty exhausting and disgusting. It’s not just this comment…it’s anything and everything anyone says. He has got to find a way to allow people to speak without the constant whining and criticism and he needs to develop tougher skin. I was actually excited about his candidacy in the beginning…that has totally and thoroughly waned in the wake of the Obama campaign’s progression over the months now. Mrs. Clinton was talking about a historical event…one that I remember well. The left has worked its way into a corner on this political correctness stuff and seems to not know how to get out of it…and it is laughable. As is Olbermann…do people actually listen to and respect this person’s opinions? I had no idea. To me, he and Matthews are just ranters and haters that make no sense at all to an Independent thinker. People like those two are the reason I am and will remain an Independent and commited to no party. Just sayin’…

cathy   May 24th, 2008 - 10:58 am

olberman is a nut. I turn the tv off befor I would watch him . I bet he will not go crazy when his hero obama pulls a stupid. I wont vote for her or obama ( read his book)but the media shows who they want, UNFAIR

Lee   May 24th, 2008 - 11:00 am

Olbermann is a fatty who has to TIVO himself to get A rating!

Bill Thomas   May 24th, 2008 - 11:04 am

Dead bodies all the way from the White House to Little Rock! I would not want a Clinton behind me! I know, we could make a retake of an old movie. “Death Wish” starring Obama! Run Obama, Run! Run away from the Clinton’s and their secret service his men!

MSNBC????   May 24th, 2008 - 11:04 am

I guess MSNBC likes being dead last in ratings and has been for awhile. Could it be that they have no idea what the American public want? What bad business skills? If they would ask real Americans that the treasonous opinions, Socialist and communist views, and the ra-ra OBAMA the messiah has come messages that the traitor Olbermann and others on their spread that most Americans have travled over to Fox. I wonder why??? Perhaps becuase they give both sides of the arguement then you can draw your own conclusions! Sounds logical to me? Oh, and God for bid to show a little Patriotism! I know that is difficult for Lefties to handle but unfortunatly for you most Americans love their troops and their country. If I were on the board of Trusties at NBC I’d be firing some people to save the network and get more objectivity in there. Just a thought. I like making money for my business. I’m not sure why NBC doesn’t???

Adam Courier   May 24th, 2008 - 11:05 am

This has absolutely nothing to do with gender. This is absolutely abhorrent behavior by Senator Clinton.

Overbite the Moron   May 24th, 2008 - 11:08 am

First of all, overbite, it was the obama campaign that interjected this issue into the campaign. http://proteinwisdom.com/?p=12281

Second, once again, minute man, like the MSM, did not include the entire context. http://www.breitbart.tv/html/101403.html

This is what was said BEFORE the infamous sentences:

“that’s been the pattern for some time now . . . it’s the tougest job . . . you should be willing to campaign for every vote, you should be willing to debate anytime anywhere . . . people have been trying to push me out ever since Iowa . . . I find it curious because it is unprecedent in history . . . there has been this urgency to end this . . . historically that makes no sense. Q: you don’t buy the party unity argument? I don’t, because again, I’ve been around long enough and my husband did not wrap up . . . ” Note also that when she spoke of the assination she emphasized the word June.

It’s not debattable. And yes, she made the same point in the past, so what? They’re playing by the Obama rules now!

She can’t bring up Kennedy’s assiniation – it’s off the table like Michelle Obama. Nope, can’t bring up historical fact that serves as a second and third example of how the decision isn’t always wrapped up by June. Nope can’t do it b/c Obama is black and the bad bad racists in America who didn’t vote for him may hear this and shoot him for Hillary.

No Overbite, you ranting moron, she did not invoke assination. But Obama’s staff did.
http://proteinwisdom.com/?p=12281

Did anyone listen to this moron’s rant? Silenced forever, yearning to breath free. He’s such a dumba** tool.

He is saying you can’t use the word assination in the middle of a campaign. That’s right folks. Certain words, like Michelle Obama in her entiretity, are off the table.

I love how he refers to the racial and gender hatred. LOL. An admission that the Democratic party has race and gender issues, since, after all, they’re the only ones bickering over this crap.

He seriously is the worst talking head on TV. The guy is a moron. It’s embarrasing. No wonder he has such low ratings.

“You cannot say this” said the man who cried about losing our fundamental rights in America as Bush tried to protect us from terrorists.

Here’s where the cat is out of the bag. You can suspend your campaign senator. DUH. That’s what this is all about !!!!!

Jeff Morse   May 24th, 2008 - 11:10 am

Olbermann is a moron, who will use anything to provide him stage to rant. Her comments although poorly crafted cannot be lifted to assert a suggestion of placing Barrack in jeopardy.

Josh. Really?
You picked on people with real mental disorders. You demean a woman by giving her BALLS! And, all you can say is “Go Hillary Go!”????
Well thought out. I hope my children get to receive an education from the schools you did. Better yet. I hope all of the voters out there know how to recognize a “half wit” as well as you do. I do agree with you on one thing I wish that Hillary would go. Oh no, that’s out of context. Come back with it, Josh. I’m also a sexist and misogynist just because I responded to you.

Bob   May 24th, 2008 - 11:33 am

Olberman has detiorated from being simply a jealous jerk, (the O’Reilly complex), to also becoming a raving lunatic. Statements made publicly, except by the enamored media, are not neccessarily about BHA. NBC/MSNBC will stay in the rating pits until they get back to unbiased, objective journalism, but that would require sane leadership.

LaVonne   May 24th, 2008 - 11:38 am

This guy is a nut case. He says MSNBC won’t forgiive Senator Clinton. His station has the lowest in ratings and they are in the tank for Obama. Olbermann you were the worst on ESPN and and have not changed. If MSNBC knows whats good for them (which they don’they will dump you.
MSNBC you are supposed to be a news organization not members of the Obama campaign.

Steve T   May 24th, 2008 - 11:40 am

Adam Courier and others
Doesn’t it make you sick that you have to explain first, “This has absolutely nothing to do with gender.” before you can go on and make your point?
This is not a criticism. It shows how everyone has to think first before speaking because it is going to be exhaustively dissected.
Olbermann just pointed out numerous cases where Mrs. Clinton has “misspoken” throughout this campaign.
The rest of us are just tired of having to answer charges of sexism and misogyny just because we don’t like Mrs. Clinton as a candidate. Good old EJ (Elton John) started this a couple of months ago.
At this point, I would consider several other women before Mrs. Clinton as president.
If that makes me a misogynist, so be it.

Matt   May 24th, 2008 - 11:42 am

The point she was making, as crass as it was, was that primaries have, in fact, lasted well into June.

We Americans need to face our fears with open eyes and a reasoned mind. Assasination is always a danger for our public fiqures.

Olberman is a buffon. This was very bad “acting” on his part. His outrage came out as cheap an disingenuous as Hillary’s apology. What a flimsy job of pandering to Obama’s constituancy for a perceived ratings boost. Keith, the American people are smart enough to judge Hillary’s comments – and yours – on our own.

Larry   May 24th, 2008 - 11:46 am

View this for what it really is: a desperate cry for ratings. Olbermann and MSNBC are circling the drain as Fox consistently dominates them. This windbag’s only choice is to increase the hot air.

I am a life-long Republican. I will vote for John McCain in November. I detest Hillary Clinton. But I watched the interview, and it was evident to me, as it would be to any fair-minded person, she mentioned Robert Kennedy only to make the point nomination battles sometimes extend into the summer. Only someone desperate to make himself relevant would read into her remarks an insinuation she is holding on for the possibility Obama will be assassinated. Olbermann is really that desperate.

I avoid GE products and services (they own MSNBC) primarily because they sponsor Olbermann’s nightly venom. And NBC compounds its ratings problems when it permits this boorish ape to provide color commentary on Superbowl Sunday. I switched off the sound, watched just the picture and listened to commentary on the radio.

When it comes to Olbermann, what he is speaks so loudly no one can hear what he’s saying.

James Callahan   May 24th, 2008 - 12:03 pm

Olbermann is an emotional wreck. Evberything is bothering him – from Bush to Clinton. He needs a more calm job – perhaps handing out meds in a hospital ward. His attacks on everything, all out of context, leave this man so twisted and hateful. He needs a new job. Jetison this program from MSNBC and save yourself.

…ALL THE WAY TO THE CONVENTION , please

Kelly   May 24th, 2008 - 12:21 pm

As an Obama supporter and just as a human being, I was offended, once again, by Hillary’s insensitive remarks. But after watching Olbermann, it’s clear he needs a Prozac the size of a golfball.

But jealous of O’Reilly? I doubt anyone is jealous of that arrogant fool.

peter c   May 24th, 2008 - 12:26 pm

This raving hate-monger knows she didn’t mean anything bad towards his lover Obama as Obama’s lovers know this also.what a bumch of cowards!
My offers through e-mails to meet this Creepy lyings treasonous Olberman in a boxing ring with Refs and three minute rounds have gone unanswered…he;s a loud-mouth coward who rants hate every night who twists and spins and lies along with Mathews and Abrams and Mike on MSLSD 24/7.I truely want to have match with him.Man…I would love it.I would even do it on MSLSD ..I could even do it with heaver gloves..I also offered that. But,he’s a punk-ass coward…who hides behind a desk and all his Godless lying Liberal moveon.org pals. He’s the Toyko Rose of our times….only worse.

Eagle in NYC   May 24th, 2008 - 1:24 pm

Wow! He really got his panties in a wad.

I love how the fringe left always projects their motivations onto others. Now Hillary knows what it’s like to be on the receiving end of these lunatics like this sports announcer, Kos, Hufington, Soros, etc. For a decade, they were defending Crooked Willy and her, and therefore she had no problem with them and their tactics. But now that they’re aiming their hatred at HER, well that’s just unacceptable for Madame Hillary.

Enzo   May 24th, 2008 - 1:35 pm

Olbermann you are such a phony little wuss. You try to roil the toilet water and leave it unflushed just to annoy the next guy. I couldn’t listen past the 2 minute point. Your rants are mindless and meandering. You are a bore.

Oh, by the way…Assassin is an Arabic word, and Hussein is an Arabic name…Enough said.

M in AZ   May 24th, 2008 - 1:48 pm

Well said Mr Olbermann!
Hillary Clinton is showing her true dirty colors, of veiled threats. It comes as no surprise to me, considering Hillary and Bill Clinton’s track record of people who were ‘close to them’ and have just happened to drop dead, along the way. In addition, the tiny Mena Airport in Arkansas was being used for the transport of drugs and arms, a $5 billon business, (re the Contras), all under the watch of the Clintons.
Hillary Clinton wants to the the President of America so badly, that she is willing to go out and use the “A” word.
If something happens to Obama, we will know who has the most to gain from it?
How low will Hillary Clinton stoop to get the nomination of President?
Could this be a message to Obama?

Dave   May 24th, 2008 - 2:02 pm

Amen.

It’s a breath of fresh air to hear someone speak the truth about Hillary Clinton. I think the entire nation should be frighted of the prospect of her answering a 3 a.m. call, or to be anywhere near the White House.

This woman is not only conniving callous and cold-hearted, she’s also mentally unstable.

If this last bit of antics isn’t enough to sway super delegates, I don’t know what is.

angriestdogintheworld   May 24th, 2008 - 2:02 pm

before this event/incident, I would say you would have to make me climb a nakid pyramid nakid before I’d vote for Rodham Clinton, but now I’d say you’d have to waterboard me.

Mad in IN   May 24th, 2008 - 2:08 pm

Absolutely brilliant commentary on the calculated remarks of a soul-less political monster. She was grasping at the last straw. Good riddance to the Clintons.

I dont like liberal thinking. But his commentary made a lot of sense to me.

Phyllis   May 24th, 2008 - 3:04 pm

Clinton is not stupid, naive, nor was she unprepared for the question she was answering. If continuing the primary into June is ‘not unusual’ why did she have to cite a 40 year old instance?

I have never seen Keith Olbermann before and certainly would prefer another voice to listen to. However, he articulates well the reason why Clinton’s remarks in Sioux Falls have effectively ended this primary race.

retiredteacher   May 24th, 2008 - 3:06 pm

I agree with you all who think Olberman is a rabid nutcase!! He and Chris Matthews have a serious “mancrush” on Obama since Day 1.
I do think Hillary’s mention of assassination is frightening!! I think the Clintons are trying some of their scary mind tricks and would not be surprised if some brain-washed feminist or gun-toting “hard working American” AKA predjudiced redneck try to take him (Obama) out before the convention or after Hill has been made vice-president!

Ed   May 24th, 2008 - 3:12 pm

Olbermann was for Hillary, then went to Obama because thats the way MSNBC has gone. Olbermann should actually be taken off the air, or put on Comedy Central. He gives Reporters a bad name. Not that he is one. I use to watch MSNBC because my cable did not have CNN or FNC. But they promoted so much of FNC an Bill O., that I paid the extra to get FNC. Now I can get both sides of the news instead of listing to idiots.

Liz   May 24th, 2008 - 3:17 pm

Oberman, I used to watch your show. You were amusing. Apparently your now just a tool.
Nobody gives a **** about your political views.
I’ve never like Hillary, but having watched this election process and the treatment she’s received throughout, if she was on the ticket, I’d at least have to think twice before pulling the lever.
Right now McCain has my vote.
An honorable man with morals who served his country and did POW time. He won’t be afraid to shake things up. Loved his sticking to his guns on “Ellen”.
Obama’s nothing but the “next big thing” which will end up being more of the same when the honeymoon wears off. The press is all for him and Hillary gets ****.

Burt   May 24th, 2008 - 3:21 pm

Hillary did not intend to say that she needed to stay in the race because of possible assasination. Get over it. You don’t need to beat her up on this angle. Rather look at the whole clip. It is worse in that she is trying to twist facts and paint herself as the victim. Her statements of “I don’t know why they want me to quit” and other campaigns lasted into June is disingenuous. She knows full well why it is over and now she is waiting for Obama to say something stupid so that she can jump in. This primary season started early and lasted late. The other past races had people that recognized when time was up and left with grace.

Woody   May 24th, 2008 - 3:23 pm

And who exactly is engendering all of this “political and racial hatred”, Olberman? Oh that’s right, the Left. This guy needs a prescription for Xanax.

Pandoraah   May 24th, 2008 - 3:31 pm

Be Quiet, Olberman!! Get out of Obama’s bed!! She didn’t say she wanted anybody assasinated. She has a right to be in the race. You’re so biased you reek!

Christine   May 24th, 2008 - 3:57 pm

Dear “Mary Jo”
You must be one of sickest people on this side of the globe. Many if not most of the readers in this space do not know what you are trying to do but I know and I say you are dangerously ill. I wonder how you will feel when you are confronted by some of your past behaviors of which I am sure there are many. And I would guess that your dirty little mind runs overtime.

Keep a careful eye on Olbermann. He not only gives the far left rants for MSNBC, but also blogs on the far left web-sites and picks up their talking points. I don’t trust a lot of these media guys to be unbiased, however, Olbermann switches between anchor and opinion so much that the net result is confusion.

The over the top yelling is also very unconfortable.

john mastrangelo   May 24th, 2008 - 4:47 pm

Operation… CHAOS!

Why is it that we on the political right recognized the Clintons for the power hungry freaks they are back in 1991 and it’s taken the lefty dupes this long to figure it out? Quite telling isnt it?

OPERATION CHAOS ROLLS ON!!!!

Balls Flotard   May 24th, 2008 - 7:33 pm

Please stay in the race, Hillary, at any cost. Don’t let the bullies in your own party scare you away. Remember, this is the moment you’ve been working towards for over 20 years! Who is this Obama character to cut in line in front of you and deny you your place in the sun? Let him wait his turn! Keep fighting until the convention! I can think of nothing more delicious than seeing Clinton get on the ticket as VP. Either way, Obama loses. Only the Democrats could cook up something this chaotic and ridiculous.

Last I heard the Clints are worth over 100 million. Sounds like excess profits. Congress should investigate the Clintons for ripping off the taxpayers. The Clinton operations should be appropriated by Congress and run by Maxine Waters.

KEN   May 24th, 2008 - 9:29 pm

Obama, in case you are thinking of having this woman in the White House give her words and deeds a plenty of thought. Especially as Vice President. A VICE PRESIDENT IS JUST A HEART BEAT AWAY FROM BEING PRESIDENT. Research all the heart beats that stopped suddenly with people associated with Bill and Hillary Clinton.

justme   May 24th, 2008 - 9:32 pm

Right on, Olbermann!

Even casual observers had to realize that Hillary was proffering a *SUBLIMINAL SUGGESTION* regarding assassinating Obama!

That Clinton woman is dangerous and evil; ANYBOBY but her for President!

(One bright side to this latest outrage of Hillary’s, though: She will NEVER be on the Obama ticket–not that she ever had a chance, but no way is Barak THAT stupid, given her latest outrageous remarks!!!)

Bill   May 24th, 2008 - 10:40 pm

Hit the nail right on the head.

The Clintons represent the worst of our country.

The only honorable thing for her to do is to immediately stop her campaign and resign her senate seat.

We don’t need her kind in our political arena.

Gore08   May 24th, 2008 - 10:49 pm

I thought MsNBC loved the clintons. I know that they love obama. Hmm, who to pick. I guess they have picked Obama.

Republicans look for a leader that inspires, leads and can deal with issues.

Democrats look for someone that can inspire. Hopefully, a father figure or entertainer. So, Obama is our daddy!

Viva Obama! Viva Maxine Waters! Viva Gore!

Gore08   May 24th, 2008 - 10:53 pm

This is a fake. I went back and looked and listened closely. I noticed that her lips did not match the words. And, her voice changed during that sentence. I believe that the republicans did this to make the us Democrats look bad, like we are concerned about identity like race and gender. I think that Rove did this!

We need an investigation from the House of Representatives! I hope someone calls Maxine Waters to take charge of this fraudulent activity.

Bob   May 24th, 2008 - 11:10 pm

If anything happens to Obama, it is my hope that the Democratic Party will have the good sense to nominate someone other than Hillary Clinton.

She must not benefit from this.

Mike   May 25th, 2008 - 12:04 am

I read most of the comments. Please just deal with FACTS of Hillary Clinton.
Keith O is spot on in his short precise comment of Hillary. I wonder, is Hillary that desperate to be the next President of our country? Does she not know that she could be destroying the DNC, and we could be saddled with …god forbid…John McCain?
It has been well-documented about the Clintons, and their body count, the most famous being Hillary’s pal, and White House attorney, Vince Foster, who helped with the dealings of Whitewater, a long-time friend of both the Clintons. Let’s not forget that Vince Foster was found dead in 1993 again, under the watch of the Clintons, in a park with a gun shot wound to his head???? He was so depressed, that he shot himself in the head? Do we really believe that?
Is Hillary so desperate to be the next president of this great country, that she will evoke the word ‘assasination’? Could she be mentally deranged, and is seething with such anger…waiting to stab Obama with even with a steak knife?
It’s either desperate behavior, or a mentally meltdown on the part of Hillary to behave in such an inappropriate, obscene, deranged way?
Is this the person we want for the White House, at a time when Americans need domestic/financial help? or a screaming harridan?

It is also a FACT, that Bill Clinton pardoned Marc Rich, the arms dealer, who owed $48 millon to the IRS in tax fraud, 51 charges of tax fraud handed down to Marc Rich in a federal court. It is FACT that ex-wife, Denise, gave the Clintons $450,000 for the Clinton Library, and more contributions for Bill.
These are serious matters to consider, as what about us???,the tax-paying Americans, who must help themselves, by putting the best person in the White House for the job, not one that uses the word ‘Assasination’, with a sublimal message, obviously to Obama, whom she thought would never surpass her in the race to the White House. Could Hillary be a dangerous person to hold the higest office in our country? You decide, but I certainly think so.

Olbermann is a far-left loon with a hair-trigger temper. He thinks Hillary is not fit to hold office. So, instead, he endorses a man who thinks we have 57 states…and counting. For a person who thinks it’s inappropriate to mention the word “assassinate,” Olbermann must have said it about 10 times….

Sigmond   May 25th, 2008 - 12:37 am

I would vote for Obama except that he has probably killed or maimed thousands of people with all that second-hand smoke from his cigarette smoking. How can liberals forgive him for that? And to make matters worse, he smoked Camels, which are known to kill 20 times more second-handers than Carlton Lites.

Sigmond   May 25th, 2008 - 12:47 am

Gore08…If you look closely at her, it’s clear that she is NOT Hillary Clinton! Look at the hairline. I think it is Henry Waxman under that wig.

John Romano   May 25th, 2008 - 1:18 am

Obama (peace be upon him) doesn’t have much appeal outside of blacks, elites and the weak minded.

A lot of people here attacking Hillary voted for her good for nothing husband twice. So save the self indulgent high minded blathering, you’ve just found a Bolshevik you prefer to her. Nothing more, nothing less.

Dear Christine,

“Senator Kennedy killed that girl the same as if he put a gun to her head and pulled the trigger.”
- George Killen State Police Detective Lieutenant who investigated the accident.

I know Christine, all is forgiven if you have the “correct” political views and are favored by the liberal press. Not to mention stupid, gullible people like you.

For anyone with the courage to seek the truth about the Senior Senator from Mass. –

She just planted the seed. What’s the big deal. These are the Clintons…the gate keepers of their beloved Democratic Party. Hillary and Bill are the two main reasons why Hillary and Bill find themselves with second row seats going into the Denver Convention. Take heart, though, Roesanne Barr supports them.

My sincere apology to Mrs. Obama for what your fellow democrats have put your family through.

As for Keith Olbermann, thank you. A bit redundant, but right on.

I was in that room at the Ambasador Hotel two months before Bobby’s murder. I was a JC student delegate trying to get our state convention to adopted Martin’s birthday as a holiday on the campuses of the California Community College Campuses. Admittedly, at 19, I was pretty pumped up. One young, well intended Republican advised that I should calm down, that everything would be alright. I asnwered, “I do not think it will be alright’. Few of us at that time had any reason to believe that it would be ‘alright’. It was the spring of ‘68.

Raising the issue of an assassination is not alright, either.

Denver will surely take on a life of its own.

I am glad I found a really interesting place to lurk and occasionally post!!! I love all the negative comments about Mr. O- is it Olberman, Overman, Obermann? Who really cares? He should have stayed as a sports announcer!! He is NOT an anchorman or a serious newsperson. He tries to be one but he thinks he is a commentator like Bill O’Reilly. Bill has a huge ego, but he lets people from the left and right have their say. He doesn’t fill his show with hateful, smug put-downs like the 1# Worst Person In the World does. Are you gettin’ it Keith??? Millions of people don’t give a crud what you think and we hate how you tell us about it!!!

Kenneth   May 25th, 2008 - 12:01 pm

Yearning to breath free?? Last time I looked this was still a free nation. He acts like we have been living in a old style Soviet Gulag these past 8 years. This guy is such a clown, He is obbsessed with O’Reilly who continues to bury him is the ratings every single night, There are tampon commercials that get higher ratings that Olbermann.

Rabbit   May 25th, 2008 - 1:26 pm

Olberman

I have watched many of your rants against Boosh, with a degree of admiration. Sometimes you have made allusions which made it clear to myself and anybody who had access to the internet and an average set of braincells that you are shall we say, less than entirely informed.

However it appeared that despite your minimally informed status that you were on the side of truth. However, recently I saw a video wherein you deny the NAU exists, you scoff at such a completely verifiable and very widely known and documented fact as if it was a mere fairy tale, on a par with the official fairy tale of 9/11. Under the circumstances TREASON is not too strong a word to apply to your public antics. I am NOT EVEN an American and you offend me on behalf of America when you bend over and spread your cheeks for that barrel of bile, the NAU. That is the other point of contention you have with the reality and honor based community.

Phuck you Mr Olberman.

One more disgusted fan, signing off, for good.

Rabbit   May 25th, 2008 - 1:30 pm

The best that can be said of you, Mr Olberman is that you are at least one evolutionary step and a life time of wisdom advanced beyond the last pair of morons who posted before me.

:)

Dan   May 25th, 2008 - 3:12 pm

Olbermann is the best. Every speech he has given is superb and straight to the point. True facts that are not disputable, nor can they be challenged by any intelligent individual. Regardless of opinion, they speak volumes of truth. America needs the truth. The past 12 years have been full of lies. May God bless Keith, the truth, and all defenders of our Constitution.

I shouldn’t be surprised in this country, but why the heck are people upset about this comment? It was in no way offensive or inappropriate. Anyone that thinks Clinton implied that she wants or expects Obama to be assassinated in that comment is completely delusional or just plain stupid.

People need to quit reading into things so much and in such absurd ways. Quit twisting people’s words, putting words in people’s mouths, and creating all of this buzz over nothing. She didn’t say “Obama will probably be assassinated so I’m staying in the race,” so don’t just assume that’s what she meant. And of course, there’s the fact that we do have the luxury of freedom of speech in this country. People just get offended far too easily in this country.

As an aside, I am not a Clinton supporter so don’t accuse me of any sort of bias (I’m a Ron Paul supporter, actually) towards her or against Obama. I’m just sick of seeing this nonsense in politics. People don’t even care about real issues or what politicians will DO anymore. They are just hung up on stupid ways to read into and interpret random out-of-context comments to even think about how those things will actually affect their actions in office, and in the vast majority of cases those comments (and subsequent 10-minute rants about what other people THINK the comments might mean) they are completely irrelevant.

An Olberman Fan   May 25th, 2008 - 9:16 pm

The comments made by Senator Clinton have been attributed to her fatigue, as with Bosnia! But she makes these stupid comments on more than one occasion is she always tired? If so, then maybe this is not the ‘commander-in-chief’ we want to answer a 3 a.m. phone call — she would be too tired to respond intelligently!

Olberman’s comments were ‘on target’. The American public can no longer condone this woman’s insensitive comments, her complaints — even whinny attitude on many occasions (although its okay for her to suggest that her opponent ‘whines’ to use the term when speaking of her is somehow ’sexist’. Get over it. This woman has grasped at ever straw in the broom! Finally, she speaks what her heart hopes for — some lunatic picks up a gun and takes care of her problem! That’s why she stays in the race! Can you imagine that a sane person would say something like this — several times! Oh, and the apology that never was… You people had better wake up, this woman is truly dangerous!

On the subject of being an experienced leader — well she and her campaign planned to end it in February — didn’t happen. She raised millions of dollars, spent them indiscriminately and had to loan millions of her personal wealth to continue. This certainly demonstrates her leadership ability right — poor projections, underfunding or at the very least unwise spending! Come on people, if she will spend her own money so poorly what can be expected of her when its time to spend your money?

rightwingnutjob   May 26th, 2008 - 6:24 am

It’s about time everyone acknowledges the truth about the Clintons. They would have, and have done everything imaginable to get and keep power. I have no problem with anyone telling Hill and Bill to hit the road, but Keith O. is such a left wing hack that I can’t stand him thinking that it is his place to tell anyone where to go. I have some suggestions for HIM, however!

Dan, I hope there is hope for you and your delusional condition! Bill O’Reilly would suggest you get in line for your Kool-Aid!
(I’m not trying to be mean- just trying to have a late-night HA HA!) Peace!
