Spent the afternoon on the phone with Gov Brewer's office and the Chandler Police department. One dead, one critical and they couldn't give me the status on the other one.

This was a drug sting gone bad. Someone got ratted out. The mexican drug cartel had a house in downtown Phoenix. All three officers were INSIDE the house when they were shot. They were NOT wearing vests because they were under cover. One who died could have been executed….not clear.

USCIS Memo Details Administration's Plan to Provide Mass Amnesty Through Administrative Actions

A newly revealed memo, obtained by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) who is leading the fight against amnesty, shows Obama Administration officials offering a detailed plan that would offer actual or de facto amnesty to millions of illegal aliens without Congress ever taking a vote.

The 11-page memo, drafted by Chief of Policy and Strategy for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Denise Vanison, outlines the various ways to offer a mass amnesty to the nation's 11-18 million illegal aliens through the use of administrative actions. The stated purpose of the memo is to offer "administrative relief options to promote family unity, foster economic growth, achieve significant process improvements and reduce the threat of removal for certain individuals present in the United States without authorization."

"The memo proposes 18 different ways for the Obama Administration to essentially eliminate our borders through regulatory fiat and in clear violation of the letter and the spirit of U.S. immigration laws, which Obama swore an oath to faithfully execute," said NumbersUSA's Director of Government Relations Rosemary Jenks.

The memo is an alternative plan to amnesty "in the absence of Comprehensive Immigration Reform." In addition to using deferred action and parole, which were previously identified in two separate letters drafted by Sen. Grassely and signed by 11 other Senators (read the first and second letters), the memo outlines ways that USCIS can extend benefits and protections to individuals and groups of people by lessening the standards used in "extreme hardship" cases.

Item 4 in the memo outlines ways the Obama Administration can provide amnesty for millions of illegal aliens through the "extreme hardship" provision. It would "encourage many more spouses, sons, and daughters of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to seek relief without fear of removal. It would also increase the likelihood that such relief would be granted." Section 4 reads:

Lessen the Standard for Demonstrating "Extreme Hardship"

The Act at 212(a)(9)(B)(i)(I) and (II) renders inadmissible for 3 or 10 years individuals who have been unlawfully present in the U.S. for 180 days or one year respectively, and then depart. By statute, DHS has discretion to waive these grounds of inadmissibility for spouses, sons and daughters of U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents if the refusal to admit such individuals would result in extreme hardship to their qualifying relatives. Generally, the "extreme hardship" standard has been narrowly construed by USCIS.

To increase the number of individuals applying for waivers, and improve their chances of receiving them, CIS could issue guidance or a regulation specifying a lower evidentiary standard for "extreme hardship." This would promote family unity, and avoid the significant human and financial costs associated with waiver denial decisions born of an overly rigid standard. This revised standard would also complement expanded use of PIP as set forth in B.

In addition to lessening the standard for demonstrating "extreme hardship", the memo details many more options that "have the potential to result in meaningful immigration reform absent legislative action."

Other options include: allowing aliens in the United States under Temporary Protected Status to adjust their status to Legal Permanent Resident, extending "grace periods" to leave the country for aliens on temporary work visa, changing the distribution time line for temporary workers on the H-2B visa, and granting up to 240 additional days on applications for employment authorization when the application is filed before the work authorization expiration date.

Denise Vanison has been an immigration attorney for more than 18 years. She advised multi-national and domestic corporate clients on employment of foreign nationals in the United States, I-9 employment verification and procurement of passports, visas, green cards and U.S. citizenship.

The memo was drafted for Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Alejandro Mayorkas. In addition to Denise Vanison, Roxana Bacon from the Chief Councel's office, Debra Rogers from Field Operations, and Donald Neufield from Service Center Operations were also listed as authors of the memo.

If I were their families and those two weasles came anywhere NEAR me I'd lock my door.

Heroin and other IV drugs are illegal right now and people are spreading the HIV virus with dirty needles. It's obvious that criminalizing heroin isnt the answer to stopping the spread of HIV through dirty needles. Gov. Jan Brewer is trying to protect the citizens of AZ, this begs the question why is the Constitutionally mandated Federal Government not doing the same. Emboldened I'm surprised Obama doesn't give the drug lords an award for these murders. He took an oath to support, protect and defend the Constitution just because he is ineligible for potus does not give him a pass on the oath he took in front of a lot of witnesses yet.

I don't really see any evidence that legalizing will work. First of all, drugs make people violent, so violent crime would probably increase. Secondly, if we make everything legal and allow companies like Phillip Morris and Walgreens to provide this poison to anyone who desires it, do you really imagine the leaders of the Zetas and the Sinaloa Cartel sitting down by the side of the road, sulking and saying to themselves "Man…Phillip Morris and Walgreens own this market now…I guess its over for us. I typically agree with what you have to say, but not on this issue. We have to draw the line somewhere. I do not believe in anarchy as the weak will pay the price. Following your line of reasoning points to anarchy. Basically – no laws because any law will restrict liberty. The elderly and disabled would become prey on a much greater scale in a lawless society. I cannot agree with your analysis.

Yeah…that's just what we need now: corporate "legal" drug mercenaries shooting it out with Zetas commandos and El Chapo Guzman's hitmen across North America. A local youngster here ON DRUGS one EARLY AFTERNOON…STOLE an axe from the local hardware store, and then went out on the street and grabbed a man and STARTED CUTTING THE MAN’S HEAD OFF!!!!!! The DRUGGED KID GOT MOST OF THE INNOCENT MAN’S HEAD CUT OFF TOO….SO…LEAGALIZE DRUGS and BE PART OF THE DAMNED PROBLEM, “FOOL!”

Even sadder, this was not just a sting but trainees up from Nogales were there to learn how to do one. Just a mess and there are rumors….but there always are…..that this bust went bad because someone made one of the officers.

Undercover in Phoenix is just as bad as a FOB in A'stan. Only the cops don't have any decent weapons. Hell my friend's ranch in Texas is better armed than Phoenix police.

No. I'm not saying what you think. Undrcover work is high risk. To risky for me to believe that it is necessary to risk lives to bust people. The war on drugs is a failure. Besides the govt figured out how to get their cut. Now the most abused substance is prescription drugs. And hey guess what? They are legal.

Actually I did have some "druggies" living next door to me. They didn't screw with me because I have security cams and generally these people don't crap in thier own back yards. You are far more likely to be a victim of drug related crimes when you don't live near them. They prefer to break into a house in another part of town or deal the drugs AWAY from their homes. Obviously the people in this story are serious about moving their product. Maybe our corrupt govt officials should quit importing drugs.

We may both be confusing our terms. A drug house, by definition, is where drugs are sold. The house near me is not a residence. It is where drug dealers feel "safe" selling drugs. Neighborhoods are not like commercial street corners and thus less likely to be found and far harder to take down because of the fear of local leos that innocent neighbors will get hurt in the process. That is why you have "neighborhood crack houses." Like AQ, drug gangs have discovered and exploited their "invisibility" and the inherent problems of taking down such a house on a block filled with peaceful citizens who invariably get caught by a stray bullet when these busts go to hell in a handbasket, as the one here did.

You are right in assuming drug dealers don't want to live and deal in the same place. They have just learned to be smart and pick average neighborhoods to deal from…..thus almost guaranteeing they won't get busted.

That is why undercover stings are on the rise and so very critical to law enforcement….and so very dangerous. The house may "look" benign, but these gangs inside are armed to the teeth, far better than local leos, and they, like AQ terrorists, don't CARE if innocent folks get killed. If they get cornered they will shoot their way out, neighbors be damned. That said, just the FEAR of that scenario is enough to keep most leos AWAY. Nobody wants to whack a killer bee nest hangin over a crowd of innocent bystanders.

And if or when they do…..they get CRUCIFIED IN THE PRESS. Lose lose situation. AQ and the SA cartels have shown criminal gangs a whole new strategy of how to get away with just about anything they want, putting law enforcement and troops in much the same position. Damned if they do or don't.

Legalization would make those drugs easier to get. It would send the message that our society condones drug use. It would remove the fear of consequence for those who still care about consequences of illegal drug use.

No, I have not. That would be crappy parenting. My daughter is grown and just recently graduated college. What YOU and other like you are doing is asking the govt to help raise you children. The most effective way to keep your kids off drugs is parenting. I for one do not need any govt assistace especially when it comes to my kids. It is so Hilary Clinton with that village garbage to ask for Uncle Suckers help. BTW IF your kids are doing drugs they are most likely prescription drugs they got yout of your drug cabinet.

Despite coming from a home where my brother and I as kids were (poorly and minimally) "parented" by a drug user, I stayed in a better frame of mind than my brother, who became a drug user at 12 and hasn't stopped since. I've known 5 people to go through rehab multiple times for heroin, some of them just got addicted to Methadone instead. 2 people I know were so messed up from LSD and other psychotropics that they were institutionalized. One friend died from hepatitis C contracted from IV drug use, and his life was shortened further by his alcohol addiction. Another friend died from heroin overdoseage, and I got to clean up his apartment after he had lain there undiscovered for two weeks in late spring, Florida heat. THAT WAS AWESOME, especially with his distraught dad present!!
