Is that supposed to make her feel better that it’s so “rare” WTF? How many times did they say that in the report? WHO CARES? I only had two flu shots in my life and those were the only two flu seasons I got really sick!!

anon   October 14th, 2009 - 10:44 pm

Yeah, I think I’ll take the flu, thank you.

This is why so many people are scared about the vaccine, one girl dies from the HPV vaccine, then this girl. You also have nervous systems shutting down in the last H1N1 vaccine virus breakout. This is why only 35% of people will definitely get the vaccine and almost 50% saying they won’t get it.

Live H1N1 is inside the Seasonal. Obama’s Eugenics team is hard at work. Why would you need Gas Chambers if you have it inside a nice shot or nose spray. Welcome to your future amerika. Bow to the UN and Obama and take his shot.. roll your dice. Heck if enough people get sick from shots they will be forced to nationalize health care. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CB8h7EWiUI

This is not a surprise at all and I feel very sad for her. This happened back in the 70’s with the last Swine Flu breakout where the actual swine flu killed very few Americans, but the flu shot paralyzed and killed a lot of people. With all the adjuvants that they add to the injections such as Thermisol, it is no wonder that reactions such as this poor girl experienced, happens. Perhaps she had a reaction to the Thermisol – Mercury Poisoning:

Symptoms of Mercury Poisoning – By the Environmental Protection Agency
Impairment of the peripheral vision
Disturbances in sensations (“pins and needles” feelings, numbness) usually in the hands feet and sometimes around the mouth
Lack of coordination of movements, such as writing
Impairment of speech, hearing, walking
Muscle weakness
Skin rashes
Mood swing
Memory loss
Mental disturbance

Personally, I only ever had one flu shot in my life and that will be the last. Before that time, I was never sick a day in my life, never ever missed one day of school, college or work until the day my boss came up with the brilliant idea that everyone would get a flu shot in the office so everyone would be healthy for the upcoming busy season. Well, I was down for the count and hospitalized for over 2 weeks. Never again. I will take my chances and suffer with the flu if need be.

Veritas   October 14th, 2009 - 11:46 pm

I did not have to hear this before already opting out of the pig flu vaccine for me and my family. But this does give anyone pause.

A friend of mine’s wife apparently works with this woman. He told me about it today. Awful! This is tragic. I refuse to believe that her symptoms will not improve. It cannot be understated how powerful the mind of a healthy person can be in combatting illness, especially neurological ones.

we had a story here in ny this even about a nurse in long island who had a flu shot in july or august she is now have nerolgical issues also from the shot . they did not show any info about what batch her shot came from . the doctors say this is a know side effect from flu shots normally it is very rare . but the last time they did teh swine flu shots in 1976 they had more than a few people come down with problems so they stopped the shots

John_Galt   October 15th, 2009 - 3:30 am

It is safe for most people. So in other words health officials who will wash their hands of any responsibility and say “oh, you were one of the rare one’s” means we should play Russian Roulette with a flu vaccine. No thanks, if I am going to play Russian Roulette I will take my chances with the flu instead. My odds are better.

DYSTONIA…

“”Your doctor will also take a complete medical history to identify dystonia in the family, previous head injury or stroke, exposure to toxins or drugs, or evidence of other potential secondary causes. Blood or urine tests may reveal the presence of toxins, and MRI may be used to identify tumors, lesions or evidence of stroke.”"

I have doubts that her condition was cause by the flu shot,,10 days after receiving it..

mariah   October 15th, 2009 - 4:06 am

Supposedly she got this after getting the SEASONAL shot,,not the H1N1 shot..

We have been getting flu shots for many years. They are VERY safe..

Get a grip!

claspur   October 15th, 2009 - 4:40 am

Mariah…

The healthcare workers in NY state were refuseing to get the H1N1 shot because that vaccine hadn’t been tested enough to be determined safe.

I’ve never had a Flu shot, and never will.

I,along with the rest of the thinking rationale people, certainly hope that people who suffer from phobias, gossip, lack of knowledge, etc, we hope that such people are not endangering a child,or anyone in the 20’s,30’s,40’s age groups, which are the one’s who are dying from this,,by the lack of getting vaccinated..

Get vaccinated, and stop thinking only of yourselves…

dammed if you do dammed if you dont. Its Likely not the flu that kills you
but the pneumonia and ARDS. If you get the flu have your MD check for
strep pneumonia. If you develope pneumonia go untreated increase likelyhood
of getting ARDS. oh yea ARDS 30% mortality rate.

Derrylane   October 15th, 2009 - 7:34 am

Mariah, you don’t know what your talking about. There are more people out there that have had terrible side effects from vaccines. You are playing russian roulette taking these vaccines. People all should be aware of the side effects. My niece died from children vaccines. You think twice when you loss a family member from a vaccine.

Nattylite   October 15th, 2009 - 10:52 am

I feel for this woman. I would rather tackle a case of flu with ibuprofen and nyquil, be gone in 2 days. All the experimental vaccines that were used on soldiers before deploying to Desert Storm caused havock on immune systems. I know this because if I get a flu shot I will end up in the ER. I pray for her to recover and hope that the developer of that batch of vaccine is investigated by the FDA.

Frank   October 15th, 2009 - 10:53 am

Been getting the flu vaccine for well over 20 years. Never got the flu or had any adverse side effects, heck, I’ve never had any side effects. Not sure where you got your information from but my doctor said there is no H1N1 in the seasonal flu vaccine, that’s why there is a separate H1N1 vaccine. Wonder if any of the performance enhancing drugs used by people training for marathins had anything to do with a reaction? Was she or wasn’t she uisng? Maybe nobody will know.

As for the flu shot, I have never gotten one and I do not plan on changing my stance anytime soon… especially in light of stories like this.

Doc'sWife   October 15th, 2009 - 5:42 pm

My husband, ER doc for 33 years, has never had a flu shot (and neither have I.) Neither of us plan on taking this shot (we just faithfully take our antioxidants, one of which is the cheap Vitamin C.)

Remember the “bird flu scare”? He remainded calm over that and advised worried friends to ignore the “created” scare. There is too much “hype” over the flu year after year.

Personally, it sounds like another “hurry up” and push another government program to give the government power (see how good the government is and can solve all your problems?) Thanks, but no thanks.

Daniel   October 15th, 2009 - 10:02 pm

Rare MY ASS!!! Anyone getting a Flu shot is a MORON and deserves to live with it’s effects. Sorry to see this but the info has been around for years DYODD

Brent   October 16th, 2009 - 10:05 am

You anti-vaccine people are ignorant. Yes some EXTREMELY RARE things like this can happen, but thousands more people would die every year if the vaccine weren’t used at all. For the general population to be somewhat safe from the potential of DEATH, a herd immunity of about 75 – 85% is required. So, when people use junk science to decide not to take a vaccine they are hurting the population as a whole and contributing to the death of others and potentially to themselves.

what flu   October 16th, 2009 - 7:50 pm

For the people who believe in the vaccine.
It’s all up to you to take it or not, but just remember how the big pharma companies are getting their data, and claiming 50% survival rate, if you are to get vaccinated.
To sum it up, people who are getting vaccinated, you are just being cullied up like heard of sheeples that you are.

Okay…get vaccinated. Understand that this complication is very rare. Now, compare that to the complications of swine flu. Does that make sense now?

In every situation there’s a risk and a benefit. You have to calculate that and make your decision based on your exposure exposure level.

Do you know why polio isn’t a big deal nowadays? Would you feel the same about polio if you knew that a lot of people weren’t getting vaccinated and there was a risk of getting it?

This is a very sad story. I wanted to get the flu shot, but now I’m not so sure. And for the record, I am so sick and tired of reading comments about everything having to be President Obama’s fault. THIS had NOTHING to do with him. The plane that had to be landed in the sea had NOTHING to do with him. The Landslides had nothing to do with him. The envision of the unicorns had nothing to do with him. Every bad thing that happens, I always end up reading several stupid comments about how it’s “Obama’s fault”. Grow up. I guess the war that started years ago was Obama’s fault? Bush had nothing to do with it huh? (sarcastic).

Good Lawd people… Seasonal Flu and H1N1 are different! Go and get yourself

separate vaccine..

I think about Nurses say No way and got the courts involved to stop the order on mandated flu shots. whom would know the best. Not the the Doctores but the Nurses the give the shots and take down your complaints when you check in. Nurses gives out meds to 1000’s of patients and take care of the victims first hand.

Never again for me or my family. If the nurses say No I say know.

Doctors & nurses I knew plus I work at a school where they give out the flu shot yearly for 6 years I’ve been thier. I notice it was given always on a friday. and the fallowing week or two are attendence were low. with the faculty saying thank godness we all took or shots or it would have been worse. I alway wonder if the shots made them sick or the flu.

I felt sick but mild, but lingered for days and days.
My husband felt okay but achy and sleepy, when he is normaly very active.
My daughter always gets sick within 4 days, the last time she went to the hospital several time.

Has anyone completed a study on accumulative yearly shots. I thought with each year you would get a stronger immunity to each yearly flu strain. (I know it’s different year to year) but I believe it acts in revers in our case.

Well here they are giving out 3,000 shots today in one county and more in several other counties.

I would love to see the results of each patient. With a fallow up. for receiving a free shot they should make a mandatory 1 week fallow up by phone and another 1 month later. This was a perfect opportunity for a state wide study. but again they drop the ball. They will call if you say we will charge you if you don’t do the mandated calls.

for us never again I will not risk my child’s life again. the only time she got ill was when we received the shots. before that she had 8 years of only well checks.

Amber   October 24th, 2009 - 1:41 pm

Some one mentioned the HPV shot. Boys and Men are carriers also why are they not receiving the shot to.

Yes I know they don’t have a cervix to have cancer. The pamphlet I picked up at the doctors office for my daughter reads it protects you form genital warts and some other things.

Again the male spiecies carrie these desies and whe spread it to each other so why is only the female have to recive these shots. I find this so one sided. you think to eradicate a disease both male and female should have the shot.

fu big pharma   October 24th, 2009 - 4:37 pm

I begin getting flu shots in my late teens, in the early fall, on the advice of my doctors. Every year I would still get the flu and many colds. The last year that I got a flu shot I was chronically ill for nearly 5 months. I haven’t had a flu shot in about ten years. I have only been mildly ill during the winter a couple of times since then. My family experienced the same thing. The swine flu hasn’t killed anymore than the common flu has. It’s all hype to make money. I used to work at a hospital. They pushed the flu vaccine on everyone through social pressure and charged everyone $15 to do it. Some people higher up where afraid of the vaccine themeselves, so they put saline solution in the vials they got their injections from. They knew, someone warned them. It seems like the vaccines is for the masses. Look who it is in those vaccines lines.

Cindi   October 24th, 2009 - 7:07 pm

I wish the very best for this courageous girl.
Vaccines are not natural and our bodies were
programmed that way. We should use our own immune
system to prevent disease by exercising, eating well,
sleeping well and getting the right supplements
like fish oil, a multivitamin, extra vitamin D and
reserveratrol (red wine). I’m not a doctor but since
I’ve started on the above regime my allergies have
all but disappeared and I haven’t had the flu or even
a cold. I will not get a flu shot because I believe
they can be dangerous. I’m praying the young lady
can get well and that people will not get flu shots.

AZ Mike   October 24th, 2009 - 10:53 pm

If you believe that the Federal government wants to declare H1N1 an epidemic to help you, take my place in the line of fools. Would you stand in line for a free shower, then be surprised that your government might just gas you to death? Germans killed Jews. The FEDS are NOT to be trusted but go to the head of the line if that makes you feel better – but I’ll bet you’ll be horribly surprised – they don’t care a spit about you. Just wait & look around!

Lisa   October 26th, 2009 - 12:49 am

I took the swine flu vaccination a few days ago and
I feel fine. I am a registered nurse and am far more afraid
of the swine flu than the remote chance of areaction to the H1N1
vaccine. I have heard of too many cases where patients are having
lung damage or heart damage from the swine flu, than reactions to the vaccine.
I understand that swine flu is causing pulmonary (lung) damage
that is irreversible–this is why people are ending up on ventilators
or breathing machines and dying. I work with a young girl in her twenties
whose dad is a doctor—he told her to get the swine flu shot, and she did.
My husband and my small son also took the swine flu shot. I coudn’t handle it if
they got swine flu and became very ill and I hadn’t ensured that thay get vaccinated.
It is ridiculous to think that the government is trying to make us ill with this vaccine.
If they want to make people sick, why would they start by vaccinating the nurses who take care of everybody else???!! We nurses are some of the first to take the vaccine.
I would not take the nasal spray dose though because it contains live attenuated or weakened virus. The injection contains dead virus. The multi dose vials contain thimerosol or mercury and the single doses dont contain mercury Go to the Boston Children’s Hospital website–there is an article by Dr. Adrienne Randolph M.D. She tells of horrible things she has seen happen to kids with swine flu and says her own children will take the vaccine.

Larry   November 2nd, 2009 - 12:21 am

I have had seasonal flu shots for many years in a row now. Prior to getting the seasonal shots I would be subjected to “the flu” on a yearly basis; since taking the seasonal shots…no more flu, also no reactions to the shots. Let’s see…spend several days in bed, suffering miserably, or staying relatively healthy and flu free, hmmmmmm – I’ll take the shot, thanks.

Blaze   November 4th, 2009 - 8:31 pm

What’s up with the people who think that people who don’t get vaccinated are going to hurt the people who do? Didn’t you get vaccinated? I guess it didn’t work then. So, better arguments people. “AHHHHH you didn’t get vaccinated?! Now mine isn’t going to work!!!” ROFL.

Adam   November 8th, 2009 - 12:29 am

I had no choice but to get the H1N1 vaccine I have a lung disease and the Swine flu would kill me for sure if I got it. It’s been killing people with underlying conditions all over the place.
